Wait, is that you on the first track queued up? Rebel Nation? If it is that's fuckin sick. Nothing else to say, no suggestions on improving, this is the best hip hop I've heard anyone post on this board, bar none, and I'll def listen to the rest later. Kinda hate the third rapper by comparison but the others were all great and combined with the beat it reminded me of old school Binary Star type stuff. So good. DL'd.

Awesome, I love getting HANL comparisons, has happened a couple times now. Mostly with the chorus of Nobody Home. Holding out hope for 2049 though, I love Gosling. If it's another Ghost in the Shell I'll be pissed.
Assumed the track you posted was the specific one you wanted looked at. Gotta say, the way the vocals are mixed I reeeeally wish the lyrics were posted. As is I'm missing the "existential dread" part you're talking about and it feels pretty dry.
Is the drum machine a part of your sound or just a constraint btw? Because if you messed with ezDrummer some, you can get some pretty realistic sounds.
Overall, I wasn't a huge fan of that song in particular, so I did move on and listen (briefly) to parts of a couple others. It's just...I dunno, it's pretty stale man. Not my thing I guess. Keep putting stuff out and trying to get your sound though

hahah yeah that's cool dude - my vox are pretty flat, i guess it's sort of my style, I'm a fan of deadpan and I also don't sing very well. Drum machine is a semi stylistic choice I guess, but also a pragmatic constraint. Its funny, I've been thinking about trying something different, perhaps just with acoustic guitar - seem to fair a little better when I have to try and sing better. Yeah the existential dread is missing on that song. maybe somewhere in the other songs. Anyway, I was probably being pretentious.
