I mean I'm totally a DCfag, but this is a little ridiculous.

Could this just be tween Harley-fags who are butthurt? Is this much of the fan base really this toxic?

A lot of people signed just to use the comment section, with such points as:

>Rotten Tomatoes is just an aggregate review site.

>Warner Brothers owns a decent share of Rotten Tomatoes.

>really this toxic?
Yes

This week in "Okay, now it's just getting sad"

The dude who made this is either a troll or a ln arab who doesnt understand how american websites work.

>DCucks

I hate Rotten Tomatoes

I hate their "Consensus". All of those professional reviews giving opinions and then some random anonymous chucklefuck comes in to give a 'summary' of it all. What are the credentials of the people writing those? Since when did a fucking aggregator give their own opinion

Secondly, I hate their format. The big green rotten might as well be flashing and neon just to make it stand out more from the actual review average. Its like the entire site is designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator that cant scroll down to actually read a review. They need the rotten/fresh system like a fucking child.

I especially laugh when I see Rotten Tomatoes brought up in tv ads for movies. The studios celebrating and fellating the critics, even though their next movie could be torn apart. Meanwhile the public now knows about RT thanks to YOU and will decide not to see your next movie. Dumbfucks. Rotten Tomatoes never had to advertise themselves, the studios did it for them.
I bet they regret that shit huh

Literally "DELETE THIS" the online movement

Is this copypasta, or were your tendies piled too high in the microwave and burnt on the outside but frozen in the middle?

>professional
>"Marvel is better"
>"I thought this was going to be funny like Marvel's movies"
>"This movie had too many dialogues"

modern "reviewers" are literal retards who know jack shit about moviemaking

Nothing will happen. It's like shutting down youtube because people have different opinions from you.

>Warner Bros owns a decent share
You would think they would skew shit to make the film look better.

>DCucks don't even know bow RT even works.

>"Marvel is better"
I mean, when it comes to comic book movie universes, they are literally competing with each other so there's nothing technically wrong with this opinion.

Well no shit "Nothing will happen," this thread exists to laugh at the literal fuckin' retards who think petitions ever do jack shit.

Has this movie even been released in the US?

All this does is show that 17,600 DCucks are stupid.

Jesus fuck these people are so fucking stupid. All they're doing is making sane DCfags look like fucking idiots as well.

Professional doesn't mean you're good at what you do, it just means you do it for a living.

Not till this weekend. But they released the review hold Tuesday. So since Tuesday Night everyone has learned the movie is a shitfest. Fans flipped out. As to be expected by the type that wanna see Hot Topic the Movie.

>Says fuck Marvel at world premiere
>Immediately retracts it because he realizes what he has done
>"I-I'm sorry! I was just caught up in the moment. Please don't hurt me Disney..."
>Movie gets destroyed by """"critics""""
Never piss off the Mouse.

What's wrong with the movie? I'm seeing it this Saturday.

>sane DCfags
those don't exist.
fanboys are always cancer

The plot jumps around too much and instead of people with powers using them there are a lot of gun fights.

There is. The point of reviewing is NOT to point out 'other movie is better'. It accomplishes nothing.

Don't louse the mouse!

>Suicide Squad

GOOD LUCK AMERICA!!

GOOD LUCK AMERICA!!1

DC is tripping over their feet trying to get a cinematic universe off the ground. Their jealousy is palpable. Of course they hate it when you bring up the "competition," if you can even call planting facefirst out of the starting gate when your opponent is on his 10th lap a competition.

GOOD LUCK AMERICA!!!

Guys let's not kick them while they're down.

Even Joey Q knows that.

GOOD LUCK AMERICA!

GOOD LUCK AMERICA!!!!

i don't get this hot and spicy maymay

RT should be shut down, but that's because it's a shitty aggregator, not because it's "unfair".

Their methods aren't public. Their algorithm isn't public. For all we know, the rotten / fresh ratings are assigned to reviews by unpaid interns based on what they "think" the reviewer would say. For all we know, the formula which determines the Tomatometer(tm) level is a piece of garbage which doesn't accurately output aggregate appeal at all.

Not to mention that critics in general are shit these days, that the Tomatometer(tm) ISN'T an indicator of quality, just an indicator of HOW MANY critics liked it or not. Which is worthless unless you, for some reason, only like movies if a majority of critics like them, rather than having a few trusted critics you have the same taste as.

(Quality is in the tiniest possible font UNDERNEATH the Tomatometer(tm), by the way)

All the Tomatometer(tm) does is spread false information. It gives a false sense of "quality" and "respectability" to the uneducated, unthinking masses. That's why RT should be shut down. Not because it's "unfair" or there's a "conspiracy". Because it holds way too much sway over how well movies are received. A piece of garbage like RT shouldn't be used as a yardstick for quality. Its methods are vague and shrouded in mystery, its presentation is awful, and the actual final results it gives are worthless to anyone with half a brain.

Has a thread been created for this? io9.gizmodo.com/report-warner-bros-turned-suicide-squad-into-a-mess-i-1784760580

You're supposed to hold a movie by it's merit compared to another movie, not companies. That's like watching Back to the Future then reviewing it saying Black Rhino was better.

I don't get this photo, should I feel bad? It makes me feel bad.

>change.org

I have said it before and I will say it again.
I don't hate DC. I WANT good movies because contrary to popular belief going to a DC based film does not ban me from that year's MCU offerings and vice versa. The sum total of enjoyment to be had at the movies stands only to increase if the DCCU was as good as the MCU.
However, based solely on what WB has done so far with said DCCU, I have zero faith in anything they do. I will not get hype for any of their films based on how cool the trailer looks, I will not pre-order tickets, I will not give half a shit at all until they can consistently create something worth getting hype over.
Anyone who does otherwise isn't a DCuck, they're just a fucking retard.

They want the White House to tell them basically sorry we cannot shut down a website just because you don't like a review.

Gets it.

It's always been known that the rotten/fresh designation on reviews is determined by the critic.
Also unless the movie is very polarizing due to inaccessibility I find RT usually works fine. If you know how to read the average rating and take it into account as well as keep in mind the precedent set by other movies it's easily the best there is, considering Metacritic's sample sizes are often too small which skews things in a certain direction (RT often has better ratings for basic, populist entertainment). Shame RT lets in so many no name blogs nowadays though.

>I will not pre-order tickets

Is this a thing?

Yeah, for a while now

Reminder that Change.org makes most of their money from dumb, reactionary petitions that get a lot of news exposure.

Change.org is the BuzzFeed of petition sites. They thrive off of attention.

Yes? What do you think mandingo is?

Absolutely, especially now that many American theater chains are switching to reserved seats and when these sort of event movies are actually good they can sell out for a week or more.

fandango*

Some theaters (mostly in Europe and bigger US cities) have assigned seating and pre-ordering your ticket gives you first dibs on the good seats.

Where I live, you can literally just get your ticket 30 minutes before the premiere and still get the best seat.

SLIP LIKE FREUDIAN

...

Slip of the tongue there, user?

You shouldn't have allowed that, America. Didn't you learn anything from videogame preorders?

IT'S NOT FAIR

"Tween Harley-fags"

No, user. We're the fags. In all our circle jerk, neck beard glory.

>WB makes a shitty DC movie
>critics pan it
>everyone pisses on DC for a month
>DCEU fans make DC fans look retarded by defending this trash

I honestly just want capeshit to end already. Even my normie friends are trying to start company war banter with me just because I'm into DC comics and they like their MCU capeshit flicks.

...

Most of Europe has had reserved seating for as long as anyone can remember, but moviegoing has always been a more "serious" experience there.
Here they're doing it to encourage early sales (before reviews come out) and also to maybe help out fans by eliminating having to stand in line to get good seats, though I can imagine it might encourage scalping

You do realize it's just as pathetic that you know who he's talking about, right?

Hi Max, still mad that nobody liked American Ultra?

This petition is pathetic, I don't think a lot of people understand how RT works, I do feel that the average rating should appear larger on the site, as that's more important than the percentage of critics that have "Positive reviews"

The only real petition that should be up is to stop WB from giving the creators as much creative freedom as they want, only to fuck the editing up by getting rid of stuff they don't like.

Also WB needs to fire they're current CEO, how many bombs have they had under him?

You just know Quesada was rubbing one out while typing that. He lives for this kinda shit.

>he's
uh huh

They should just give control to DC. It's not like they can fuck it up harder than Warner is right now.

>People actually giving a fuck about RT

I'm just glad that normalfags probably won't know about any of this and start thinking of DC-fags as cringeworthy

Though they fucking deserve it for making this petition

Can't hickey the mickey.

please dont post this making it sound like anyone is actually gonna take down rotten tomatoes for bad reviews. Some small un important group of normal fags are mad, so what? people have tried to take down Sup Forums and wikipedia too, it wont work and doesnt matter ebcause there are no internet police and they arn't wasting their time on movie rating sites with commentary. They would have to take down yelp and any other site that could hurt a businesses name.

'Mandingo' has been a generic term for large black men for far longer than one porn star's use of it as a name, user.

Archer exists.

I stopped using RT years ago when I realized that they aggregate even from shitty podunk blog-tier newspaper sites.

Don't get me wrong, SS is probably shit, but people need to stop taking that shitty Tomatometer score as gospel and learn to take risks.

Some of the most stupidly entertaining and rewatchable movies I've ever seen have gotten rotten scores.

Then again, movie tickets for me are like $7 so I don't feel as burnt as people who spend $12 on a ticket.

4/10, I almost thought of considering to maybe bite.

It is been a popular term in for ever.
In the american south, "mandingo" fights were common.

Rotten Tomatoes, like Google, was great when it was new, but was basically plundering the profit/credit of the material it was drawing on, and therefore made its sources worse over time. Users have a relationship with RT/Google, that they used to form with reviewers/websites.

Since nobody reads them anymore, the main reason to write reviews now is to nudge the Rotten Tomatoes score. So of course, people get paid or otherwise manipulated to do so.

>It's always been known that the rotten/fresh designation on reviews is determined by the critic.
I've never been able to find a credible source for that. Only hearsay.

user, you replied. That's biting enough for that juicy (You).

These people need to be put to death. Or better yet, have them all die in plane crashes!

They can try

I just realized I need a rare Evans dressed in a tomato costume

This seems funny desu. Can somebody bot it so it can get lots of votes, to make it look like a bunch of faggots want to ban opinions other than there own?

>Are you rotten?
>You will be

>17,616 signatures.

user, there ALREADY are a bunch of faggots

These idiots do know that RT is owned by WB, right?

How is a petition going to shut down Rotten Tomatoes?

It won't. Change.org is literally" Look at them! Look at them and Laugh!".com

At this point, I no longer care if a change.org petition is genuine or made in jest. I simply want there to be a system where if you make a petition using the site, the government laces your water supply with cadmium.

That wasn't my fault ok. Just like how all the other crap movies I do aren't my fault. My scripts are masterpieces, it's not my fault people can't follow them to the letter and this make Academy Award winning masterpieces

It's not my fault

>Quesada
>taking high ground
What fucking bizarro world did I wake up in?

Someone should start a petition to shut down that petition.

He who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

He's not taking the high ground, he's being smug.

I don't even care about the retards who made this petition or company wars or whatever. I'd just like to not have people constantly using RT as a gauge for a movie's success. I know it wouldn't change the internet, since those same retards would just find another site to replace it immediately.

>You would think they would skew shit to make the film look better.
it's an aggregate site. all it does is collect reviews and calculates an average. WB can't skew shit without being incredibly obvious about it.

Y-you're right Senpai. Superman wouldn't want us to fall to that level but even if we did he'd be their to pick us up......or snap our necks

Wow damn they moved a Sup Forums thread to Sup Forums?
Congrats, now this board has an okay thread
It is a relatively valid way to determine the consensus of critics, though. Some people take that too seriously, sure, but usually when a movie recieves overwhelmingly positive or negative reviews it can be taken as some kind of sign. Still, RT doesn't have to be the deathknell for a movie if it doesn't deserve it, Hot Rod and MacGruber have totally sincere cult followings now even though they came out in RT era and crashed and burned upon release. It's still possible movies will get reappraised in their popular opinion, the % is just a number

>Petitioning for the shutdown of a private company.
Whew, lad.

hi Sup Forums how are you

AHAHAHAAHHAA JUST

youtube.com/watch?v=Z874yM9JMxg

correct.

It's not fun to pick on the special kid

>mfw yanks pronounce too-may-to instead of too-mah-to.

Because it sounds better.

>121 reviews
>30% positive

another flop for DC
