Friendly reminder house, techno and breaks are as old, varied and expansive independent genres in their own rights as punk, metal and hip hop.

except people have unanswerable arguments over whether songs are house, techno, or breaks all the time, whereas punk and hip hop are rarely even combined because they sound so different

friendly reminder big beats was the only good thing electronic music had to offer.

>house, techno and breaks
>as varied and expansive as metal and hip hop
you must be literally retarded

Friendly reminder non-virgins don't concern themselves with this nitpicking

Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted, guess the virgin brigade decided to show up

>bleep
>music
Pick one.

Music made by a computer isn't music.

Techno isn't varied either, it's all the same tempo beats repeated across every "song".

I agree entirely I hate virgins.

THIS

They are much more varied

i agree honestly
big beat was GOAT

Friendly reminder punk and metal are for kids and hip hop is for cucks.

Music made by a nigger isn't music.

Hip hop isn't varied either, it's all the same tempo beats repeated across every "song".

you are revolting. leave this board and don't come back

you are underage. leave this board and don't come back

lol no

pretty weak b8 desu

Wtf this isn't reddit

please don't mention trash like metal in the same sentence as house or techno ever again

You're objectively wrong.
Hip hop comes in many tempos.
It's usually characterized by rapping. Some jams are slow sampled jazz on drum breaks like jdilla, the whole trap scene is 140bpm synths and 808 drums and some hip hop is even performed and recorded with a live band like Outkast

nice
how do you categorize IDM if IDM is disallowed though
isn't IDM literally the "uncategory"

or are you going to tell me squarepusher is dnb

Experimental techno

He is future jazz

...

i'm ok with this

post-techo

Why is electronic crossed out here? It's a descriptor, not a genre

And as vague as guitar music or string music or brass music.

...

More "future jazz" recs?

TOKiMONSTA
Teebs
Nosaj Thing
Shigeto
Shlohmo
Daedalus
Knxwledge

None are exactly like him but these are all artists that you'd probably come across if you dig through enough FlyLo related recs and such eventually.

You forgot the bane of my existence.
"Chillout".
Let's make it easier, if you don't know about something, don't pretend you do.
If you're new to something, don't post like you're into it for 5 years, just embrace it, people are fine with newcomers but not with jerks.
And for god's sake be open to opinions of people who are more experienced.

Sup Forums benefits greatly from this.

allright nerds riddle me this

what's mike paradinas genre?

and don't you fUCKING dare say anything involving techno

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chill-out_music

>Genres: Drum and bass, Jazz-funk, Breakbeat

>i havent heard ยต-ziq but chose to respond anyway

Would it resolve your ego issues if I put ''experimental'' before it so you can feel special and superior to all those plebs and normies listening to regular dance music or does your fedora need ''intelligent'' in the title?

no. none of those genres do even an adequate job at describing/categorizing his work. I agree IDM is a dumb name for a genre

BIG BEAT REVIVAL WHEN

>He is future jazz
end your life right now

N u j a b e s duuuuuude it's like jaZz but yellower.

Not the guy you told to end his life but I volunteer as tribute.

Why?

Him, Amon Tobin, Galaxy 2 Galaxy et al are all future jazz

Hes instrumental jazz hip hop

Holy fuck shut the fuck up
Squarepusher - Drill and Bass
Amon Tobin - Trip Hop
Galaxy 2 Galaxy - Detroit Techno

Goddamn you really don't know anything
Sholomo - Psy Trance or Goa Trance
Knxledge - Hip Hop

...

big beats are the best, get high all the time

>Amon Tobin - Trip Hop
kek

YA LIKE JIZZ ?!?!?!

How is hip hop not electronic music?

b..b..but 3 bands once made albums with real instruments xD

Friendly reminder that Jean Michel Jarre shits on most non-electronic musicians out there
youtube.com/watch?v=fpWNimba344

lmao nope.
nope nope
this comes from someone who is a fan of squarepusher and amon tobin and also likes drill and bass and trip hop but holy shit they do not fit those genres what so ever

...

not that guy but at the same time you have to agree that calling amon tobin future jazz is like calling herbie hancock smooth jazz

Not him but I'm assuming from the name its bleeps+jazz rather than jazz+bleeps like Herbie.

So artists like Jazzanova, Jaga Jazzist, Kaidi Tatham, Bugge Wesseltoft, Kaidi Tatham, Mark De Clive-Lowe etc

'Electronic' is a descriptor, not a genre.
