A few generations ago it was pretty to ever leave the place you grew up. Possible exception for London.

>pretty rare

so does every place and no matter the population

This, prior to the Industrial Revolution.

your language is not special or unique in any way.

but it has a large variety of accents and dialects though

Just like every other language. We also have many.

>pajistán

yeah but we're a small island and still have a large variety of both accents AND dialects

You really don't, go to Italy for a large viarety of accents

falkland islands

people in england cant understand people in scotland

thats a very large variety of accent desu

It's not weird at all. Smaller countries than the UK have mutually unintelligible dialects. The Americas are the exception, because they've not had time to develop proper individual dialects like Europe, Asia etc. (and probably won't in the future)

yes, so are we and everybody else.

time

also this most old world places are the same

>people in england cant understand people in scotland
Overdoing it a bit lad

not america tho

i literally said old world in my post, america is not old world

There is people in Ireland I cannot understand.

now thats a wide range of accents and dialects for you

Hardly. Only the broadest of Scots are hard to understand.

And it is not people on the otherside of the Island, it is people in the counties next over.
People in Dublin found it hard to understand me and I am from westmeath.

VERY large range of accents of dialects!

LARGE variety and range of accents?

>youtube.com/watch?v=Omtfe7lb-gE

actually laughed so hard at this

I genuinely didn't understand a single word except for the interviewer.

>at 1:00
What language is that?

I didn't think Finnish had that many accents? Are there [finnish] accents that you can barely understand?

English.

It's just as much the fact that it's old drunk men mumbling that makes it hard to understand rather than just the dialect though.

is that why it's so difficult to understand danes?

The dialects they speak in the Northern and Western most parts of Jutland are pretty hard to understand because it's mostly spoken by mumbling old men.

no you don't.

Stop being an obtuse autist

yes we do

Just shut the fuck up

Suðuroy is the only one that's markedly different.

yes, that is one

dialects to be precise and the general chart is in pic related

sometimes people, especially immigrants can't understand what I'm saying

the bottom ones mentioned are most distant and hardest to understand

>sometimes people, especially immigrants can't understand what I'm saying
Oh and this is most heavily affected by my usage of "spoken language" or colloquial speech.

she's kinda cute

lemme smash

>large variety

Nice meme
