Warner Bros' executives only have themselves to blame for Suicide Squad.

DC Films are part of a greater pattern of mismanagement. Pan, Tarzan, Jupiter Ascending are only a few examples of the chronic, systematic failure of studio executives to captain the ship.

If you want things to change, don't target Rotten Tomatoes. Petition the shareholders to force a change in management.

>Petition to get people in a private company to change around their positions to our liking

HA

GO LOOOOOOWWWWW

>DC go low
>lower than you know

>HONKA HONKA

People are saying studio intervention is ruining this movie like it ruins all movies, but here's the thing: it doesn't.

Disney is extremely overbearing with its Marvel movies, going so far as to completely takeover Edgar Wright's passion project, and piss off industry cuck Joss Whedon. But those movies still make tons of cash.

There's a root problem with DC's attempts to make capeshit, and it lies in the legacy of the Dark Knight trilogy. They can't escape its legacy, but audiences have moved past it.

Marvel films make money because Marvel is now a trusted brand.

DC movies have never been a trusted brand, people only like certain directors (Nolan, Burton, Donner)

Yeah, we're kind of saying the same thing in different ways.

Marvel's brand is trusted because of careful management. Not because the russo brothers are amazing, or the scripts are great, or anything like that.

It's not simply studio intervention that ruins the movies

Marvel meddle with the movies but they have a clear vision as to how to make them work

Warner doesn't know what to do and is simply reacting and panicking

Reviewers just want to get it under BvS at this point.

The main problem seems to be that everything is rushed at WB and DC

Yeah, you get the impression they aren't confident with any of their decisions since Man of Steel was received poorly

It's 27% now.

>Marvel meddle with the movies but they have a clear vision as to how to make them work
>Warner doesn't know what to do and is simply reacting and panicking
This
DC doesn't have a Feige

Edgar Wright. Yeah, because of we wanted an Ant-Man movie we would have had to wait till 2020 for him to actually get off his ass and do it. Fuck him, honestly I'm glad Marvel got rid of him. He did enough damage and Ant-Man was amazing.

They needed Ant-Man in Phase 1, but no he rather concentrate on his other projects than to help Marvel in its early stages when it needed competent director and writers the most. So fuck him, he hasn't made anything good since Hot Fuzz anyways.

Joss Whedon, Age of Ultron was fucking shit. There was no tension at all, it had by far the worse villain the MCU has seen(Yes, I'm counting Vanko). He went full quiptron in the movie and it completely ruined any tension. I'm glad they got rid of him too.

That's why Marvel is on top right now, they get rid of what doesn't work and give fans what they want. DC

p-pls...

how'd you want your cinematic universe?

low 20's

What a fucking mess

Fucking manchidren kys

Aren't these the same people that graded ghostbusters with a 73% tho

>HOW LOW CAN IT GO!

I started a joke
Which started the whole world crying
But I didn't see
That the joke... was on me

I started to cry
Which started the whole world laughing
If I'd only seen
That the joke... was on me

Who cares if it isn't a cinematic masterpiece. If it's fun for the fans, then who really loses?

Leto incurred the wrath of God against this film when he sent porn to Katana and shocked her parents.

CHECK OUT THIS ABSOLUTE MADMAN!

BOOMSAUCE

Literally everyone else.

This movie isn't for "the fans" its for money. If it doesn't make money (though it definitely will) it will fold the DCEU and make the fans suffer low budget or cut corner movies.

Those quints

...

...

...

...

All this and they have based Feige

>smith tattooed them but didn't get one himself

Holy shit he knew, he trolled the fuck out of those dumb cucks

lol

This song is my jam

Ive put my trust in youuuu

Marvel has a god-tier talent in Kevin Fiege that we'll probably never see again for a long time. It's why they sided with him when he was threatening to leave, and also made him the head of Marvel Studios. He's a fucking genius.

The problem with DC is this: they don't have someone like that, that will watch over every movie and change things around if need be so that you KNOW they'll be good. The board members think they can fill that role, but they obviously can't. So they chop up movies that, frankly, aren't good to begin with (BvS) and make them even worse. BvS was ruined because of their meddling. Man of Steel was mediocre, but mediocre is better than an absolute piece of shit. For something as monumental as BATMAN VERSUS SUPERMAN you want to put as much polish and sheen on it as possible, because that's where all of your hopes lie. You don't chop it into a million pieces and send it out to die. Now, because they've done so, they've done irreparable damage to their entire DCEU brand because they need to not only make good movies to "make up" for BvS and MoS, but they need to overcorrect the mistakes those movies made in the process. It's too much.

Really, a reboot makes the most sense. Marvel's MCU was built upon an excellent foundation, with multiple 70+ scoring movies. That's why it worked. DC had a decent foundation in MoS, but instead of going with what they planned, they panicked and showed inconsistent moderation, and now we're stuck with two awful movies to follow it.

That's great Leto but can he get awesome quints like this poster?

studios make assumptions about what audiences want based off social media chatter and Internet traffic analytics, so it wouldn't hurt

...

lol.

hmmmm

>There's a root problem with DC's attempts to make capeshit, and it lies in the legacy of the Dark Knight trilogy. They can't escape its legacy, but audiences have moved past it.

nailed it

Why is it scoring so low?

I thought this was marketed to hell and back?

MOMS

>there were people in Sup Forums with actually faith this would be good

I wonder if they self exiled to the desert or just killed themselves.

Thank god this capeshit fad is dying

UP TO 29! WE DID IT DC!

...

WAKE ME UP

You mean reviewers in general? Anyways while it got 73% the average score was 6.5 which means even though most reviewers that saw it enjoyed the movie, it's hardly something that will be fondly remembered in the long run like the original.

true kino

...

Not as low as Sony's profits.

That's the kind of reference point for disaster we must measure films by.

As long as the films keep making barely enough money and studios like Sony and Paramount exist, Warners executives will feel safe.

...

OH SHIT IT FLOPPED?!
I just saw.it I kinda liked it....cringed at a few parts but overall I felt it was worth the ticket

>OH SHIT IT FLOPPED?!

>critic reviews mean it flopped

it's going to make over 800 million and this weekend is going to be full of

>Marvelcucks on suicide watch
>DC does it again!!
>capekino lives!!

Disney runs Marvel films like a TV series.

That's why they hire nobody hacks.

Warners are fucking retarded and greedy and short sighted. They didn't want to take the time to develop their universe. They wanted to start at the point Marvel are at, and they have no plan to adhere to, just blind panic changes of strategy and direction every time Marvel does something or or the market fluctuates or they want to correct the reception to their latest abomination.

It's fucking retarded. This mismanagement is common in businesses like fucking Supermarkets or Fast Food franchises trying to counter the new kid on the block or the Wal Marts of the world. Warners is simply run by people aren't up to the job of managing a business.

>it's going to make over 800 million and this weekend is going to be full of
yeah well ofcourse capeshit is gonna make money regardless.

I just htought critics wouldn't hate this one so much. Joker was cringe though

Everyone else who saw the movie.

The people who funded the movie.

And then the fans when the people who funded the movie do not fund another.

Except it isn't dying. Captain American Civil War and Deadpool both made tons of money this year and the marketing and visuals alone look appealing enough to make Doctor Strange a probable huge success.

Batman Vs Superman is one of the worst major release films I've ever seen. It's still the 4th highest grossing film of the year.

as low as your mom's beef curtains AYOOOOOOO

It still made a lot of money but it along with SS probably irreparably damaged audience goodwill.

I can't even remember how many times people asked me "Who is Dr. Strange?"

And they are all excited about it. 5 years ago I never thought I'd see people excited for a Dr. Strange movie.
But not many people were hyped for Batman V Superman. Let that sink in for a couple years, WB.

This is our guy. RT fucks need to fuck off back to Something Awful.

By putting out movies that are consistently 6-8/10 for several years that build a decently cohesive universe with likeable protagonist characters Marvel has managed to create a level of consistent anticipation for their movies.
