is it ok that I have some things that pitchfork liked please don't yell at me I am very sensitive
let's hold hands and talk about how jlin transcended footwork again & how mark clifford keeps making good albums outside of seefeel
oh hey I don't think I've heard much of Clifford's outside seefeel stuff beyond this one, are there some other good ones? I guess I'd never looked, started poking around and there's an anthology of collaborations with Mira Calix, that sounds interesting. anything you'd recommend though?
listening to the new slowdive album, it's pretty boring so far
clean pit & lid is great, the souff souff 12" is nice as well
right on, grabbing em now. thanks!
Please recommend me some hidden gems from 2017
IFE - IIII+IIII
They're a Puerto Rican group that does this updated take on Yoruban devotional music. Really cool stuff.
RTJ3 was 2016
if you're open to some jazz, this Nicole Mitchell album still only has less than 10 ratings on rym and it is great

December 25th though so I'd agree it's close enough. RYM included it initially but someone threw a fit so they changed it.
Listening now, really cool sounding stuff. I'm no jazz buff but I would recommend the bottom left album from my post, Antiphon by Alfa Mist, if you haven't heard it already.

Highly recommend this album to anyone interested in microtonal music, or even if you've never heard microtonal music, it works as a good introduction. It doesn't come across as forced or gimmicky like some microtonal pieces do, it flows together so nicely, definitely worth a listen.
yeah I'm no buff either, there's so many names to remember. this is sounding nice tho, thanks for the heads up
