Directors with no bad movies in their career

1. Kubrick
2. Fincher
3. Nolan
4. Wes Anderson
5. Tarantino

>Lolita

>3. Nolan
>5. Tarantino

but all their movies are bad

>3. Nolan
>Interstellar

>Kubrick

He's my favourite filmmaker but FMJ was mediocre overall.

>Nolan
Apex kek

Pulp Fiction? Jackie Brown? Inglourious Basterds?

1. Lolita and Spartacus were pretty bad.
2. Girl with Dragon Tattoo, Alien 3 and Benjamin Button were pretty bad.
3. The entire Batman trilogy was pretty bad. Inception was borderline retarded.
4. Budapest Hotel, Moonrise, Tenenbaums, pretty fucking bad, I think you're trolling with Wes Anderson.
5. Django, Jackie Brown.

Nicolas WInding Refn, David Lynch, Terrance Malick, David Cronenberg, Zack Snyder.

2001 was the most boring and disjointed movie I've ever watched.

wes anderson doesn't have bad movies. but he doesn't have any good ones either.

>lolita
>bad

>War movie
>Expecting Capekino
It's one of the best War movies ever made.

I wanted to be a director at one point, but now I spend my days wallowing in this cesspool. I've never made a movie, therefore I've never made a bad movie in my career.

Therefore, I'm a better director than Kubrick, or Fincher, or any of them.

>nolan
>tarantino
>anderson
what is TDKR and Inception?
what is Jackie Brown?
what is his entire filmography?

Django and Jackie Brown were both good what the fuck are you talking about.

Is it because they're about black people user?

Fincher had Alien 3.
He would even say Alien 3 is a steaming pile of shit

>Zack Sny..
Soniamdissapoint.jpg

Ed Harris

>what is Jackie Brown?

Pleb spotted, Jackie Brown is one of his best you mug

It also raises the question, is Tarantino a better writer or director?

Do you seriously believe Jackie brown was bad.
That is some shit taste right there.

>Django
>Good

No user, it was okay at best. Tarantino can't into westerns.

Same goes for The Hateful 8

Kubrick, Tarkovsky, Bergman, Tarr, Melville (mostly on the back of Delon)

> Fincher

Alien 3 is really stupid. But he gets a pass since it was his first and he basically did it to get other projects.

tarkovsky
bresson
ozu
malick
kar-wai

True non-meme list coming through
>Sergio Leone
>Martin Scorsese
>Shane Meadows
>Billy Wilder

>nolan
>fincher
>tarantino
>wes anderson
Nope

Michael Mann? I haven't seen blackhat or his first few movies though, so maybe that disqualifies him

Tell me what you disliked about Django? Not trying to be rude, just legitimately curious.

Alien 3 directors cut was really good.
I think you saw the shitty studio version which everyone hated including fincher.

No

Scorsese has a few recent terrible ones stahting with tha depahted

Blackhat is absolute trash

>Fincher
Alien 3, Fight Club, Ben Button, and the Social Network are all between trash and mediocre

Are you just confirming my point or what?

The girl with the dragon tattoo sucked imho too

>le went to films has never had a bad movie
>big black dingus

When was the last time you rewatched 2001? Oh, wait, you didn't. No one did. Because it's actually extremely boring. Kubrick belongs on the nope-list.

No, both versions are shit.

Satoshi Kon

The ONLY directors in history to not have made a bad movie are Mr Sergio Leone, Mr Edgar Wright and Mr James Cameron

This man was interviewed by Christopher nolan himself at the directors guild this year.
H8ful is not just any western movie.
Or maybe it's just a millenial thing for you kids now.

Mel Gibson

...

ITT: People conflating "Not amazing" with "bad"

>Budapest Hotel, Moonrise, Tenenbaums, pretty fucking bad,
>any of these bad.
Kill yourself you miserable cunt.

>Fantastic Mr Fox
>Not animated Kino

>hitler was right about almost everything

seriously, what did he mean by this?

>boring
Do you realize that's the most pathetic critique you could ever muster you dumb fag.

Step aside, plebs

Alien 3 was destroyed by the studio
Fight Club and Ben B, while in no way masterpieces, cannot be classified as bad
The Social Network is his arguably his magnum opus.

that pretty much goes for everything ever discussed on Sup Forums. its either literally the best of all time, or absolute shit.

This is my pick. Only the tv work before the Luck pilot is bad.

Social network kek

Let me guess, Hobo with A Shotgun is your favorite movie?

>Spartacus
>bad
That movie, while maybe not one of Kubrick's best, is in no way bad. It's got a stacked cast and many memorable scenes

Blackhat is on of the worst I've ever seen.

Zach Snyder? come on man

Avatar was shit

>2. Fincher
Alien 3 is not good, no matter how you slice it

>3. Nolan
Dark Knight Rises is a terrible, godawful film

>5. Tarantino
Kill Bill is pretty much an abomination and half his stuff is only good if you're an edgy teen who has no idea about cinema and just watched entry-level shit, like Tarantino. His section in Four Rooms is good, tho

what dont you like about Kill Bill?

It's just a love letter to Uma Thurman and her ugly ass shit feet, it's not a good samurai film or a revenge movie, and Bill's monologue about superheroes not only gets everything wrong, it's dumb

He also wasted all the good music on the scenes with no action. And the less said about the Buck shit, the better. It's just Tarantino jacking off in the form of a script

Nolan
Kubrick
Scorsese
J.J Abrams
Clint Eastwood
Mel Gibson

:)

David Cronenberg is in my top five, but "Maps to the Stars"? "Fast Company"? "M. Butterfly"?

william friedkin lol

I'm raging right now. You triggered me deeply.

>I think you're trolling with Wes Anderson
I only agree with this.

ah, well i enjoyed bill monologue but considering that im not the biggest fan of super heros to begin with i could see why i don see the ignorance in it, script aside could you agree Kill Bill has many fantastic shots? and decent fight choreography?

>you now realize people actually enjoyed The Hateful Eight

Haha, right such bad movies right? Hey you wanna go catch the new Adam Sandler film together. Truly the only living great directer now that Uwe Boll is dead

>Fincher

He hasn't made a single good movie. It's all overrated mediocre trash mixed with some really downright horrible movies (benjamin button, panic room, alien 3)

At least the bad movies of the others you've listed aren't fucking awful like Fincher's. For instance, Nolan's Inception is nowhere near as shit, even though it is pretty bad.

George Lucas

Only people with legit autism me can appreciate how satisfying Wes Anderson's films are. Normies and plebs will invariably define them as 'quirky' or 'esoteric'.

Holy fuck this explains the state of Sup Forums

>I only know hollywood

literally all of these guys have at least 2 shit films

>jackie Brown
>bad

>implying that it's worse than kill bill 1 and 2

America wasn't very good

>Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
>bad

You're pretty good, kid.
>kar-wai
My Blueberry Nights is pretty bad, though.

You mean Once Upon a Time in America?

ITT: Shitposting general

>...No I don't

>disliking Jackie Brown, the only Tarantino that isn't completely self-indulgent and awful

The state of your taste in film, m8.

yes im lazy

Who are 2 and 4?

>the girl with the dragon tattoo
>good
Tips*

>fucking implying

Duality of man n shieeeeet 2deepuuuu

Get over yourself. It was completely heavyhanded in the second act. It wound up saying literally nothing.

Tenenbaums is a masterpiece of this century and my favorite film of the last twenty years next to Werckmeister Harmonies.

Pic related never had an outright bad film, his worst (limits of control) just fails at some of the things it tries to do

If you wanna cheat and say Lynch didn't really *make* Dune you can say Lynch

also Tarantino is fucking shit and you should go back to /r/movies for liking the most imdbcore 13 year old Gregg turkington film buff director ever

I rewatch it at least once a year, I find it extremely interesting everytime. But of course, you have the attention span of a 5 year old

Tenebaums is hot garbage

Coffee and Cigarettes is shit

Quality posts, huh?

>Nicolas WInding Refn
His entire filmography?

>David Cronenberg
eXistenZ

Grossly incorrect
Somewhat incorrect

Full Metal Jacket isn't one of Kubrick's great films but the awesome first half alone boosts it above mediocre status.

>Melville (mostly on the back of Delon)
Explain?

Pulp Fiction? Jackie Brown? Interstellar? Inglourious Basterds?

>Interstellar
>bad

Shit taste

You've got to be kidding me. "Once Upon a Time in America" is a great film. Perhaps you're talking about the theatrical release which was butchered and is shit?

For whatever reason, I was sorely disappointed with Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West." Still a pretty good film but nowhere near the level of the Man with No Name movies or "Once Upon a Time in America" for that matter.

It's literally his masterpiece and the best mafia film ever made.

so much reddit ITT

>Tarantula
Death Proof was complete shit
