it even has spaghetti

Concept albums are bad.

Having an opinion is bad

Why?

>>Pet Sounds
>concept album
"no"

...

I like concept albums but I'm retarded so I was hoping someone else who likes them would defend them for me.

"If you take the Pet Sounds album as a collection of art pieces, each designed to stand alone, yet which belong together, you'll see what I was aiming at. ... It wasn't really a song concept album, or lyrically a concept album; it was really a production concept album."

Mt Fuji Doomjazz Corporation - Sucubus
Aphrodite's Child - 666
Anais Mitchell - Hadestown
Deltron
Constructus
The Who - Tommy
Gasoline - Snap Your Neck Back

Some of the best imo

Zen Arcade

>It wasn't really a song concept album, or lyrically a concept album
Then it's not a concept album.

Extremely underrated and an almost unknown album.

>production concept album

stop embarrass yourself now

>>production concept album
Then every Beatles album is a concept album, right?

It wouldn't surprise if this is the same person who claimed that there were noise elements in Pet Sounds.

Wouldn't be surprised*

Revolver and Sgt. Pepper are both regarded as concept albums by musicologists

>Revolver concept album
[citation needed]

You didn't answer my question though. if production unity was a valid criteria for a concept album, MOST albums in existent would be, right?

Yeah right this is a 70's classic with over 300k views on jewtube. Still great prog though.

Try this one on for size...

I've been planning on listening to Nektar, as I've seen more and more people recommend them. Are they similar to any other prog bands?

>musicologists
is that even a real thing

Not him (he's wrong about Revolver and Pepper) but it is a thing. It's one who studies music professionally, often from an educational, historical or sociocultural perspective.

Hard to say ya know nobody else really has their sound. The guitar riffs are heavier like a lot of the earlier psych and rock but they definitely build and progress like prog and the vocals remind me off Yes more than anything. it's good stuff

*Ahem*

BTW there's a FLAC posted up here:

So glad I got to see them at their final show in Brighton.

>The Wall
>better than anything

This one's p good it was supposed to be the soundtrack for Drive until they canned the dude for making it too experimental

>Pet Sounds is regarded by musicologists as an early concept album that advanced the field of music production

Lol, a "musicologist"..

See

Remember The Future is better.

this

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALES

It's a good one, OP. But 90% of the albums on this chart is better.

>lists The Wall
>doesn't list DSOTM, WYWH or Animals

>Pink Floyd albums above
>The Who - Quadrophenia
>Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
>Vektor - Terminal Redux
>Opeth - Still Life
>Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F#a#infinity if you count that as a concept album

Does this count?

not better, perhaps, but i'm posting it anyway because i'm sure it's underrated by you fags
