Western Canada has good nature tourism. From Alberta, Banff, Lake Louise, and then take a bus through the mountains to Vancouver, try skiing or summer biking at Whistler, try hiking up a mountain, etc.

If you visit the highly populated southern areas, yes, there will be a lot of that. Greater Toronto area and Niagara Falls are terrible.
