When it comes to gore, violence, and general injustice, at what point do you feel empathy for those involved.
Example, I have no problem watching people dying a quick and painless death, but burning alive, severe fractures, and stabbing/deep cuts bother me. Injustice towards animals and children also seems worse somehow.

I am actually very much in favor of being tortured to death than being shot in the back of the head. The way I see it I still have a fighting chance in one scenario whereas I don't have any in the other. Kind of why I prefer to take the boat instead of the plane even if it's more dangerous, I'd rather stop swimming than just waiting for the plane to crash.

The point I was trying to make is that the moment it did that action I became completely indifferent to the animal.
That's also a hard question to ask. The owner would be responsible for raising that sack of shit, so I'd see it differently and this is difficult for me to put into words but I'll give you an analogy of my own personal beliefs.
What would you do if you knew your wife/lover was going to have a child, but this child is completely stunted, birth defects, and etc... well my belief would be to get an abortion or in this case towards the point I'm trying to reach is to kill the dog. Whilst the dog has no choice in whether its owner was raising it to be a dickhead or anything of the sort, it's better for me or whomever to kill it or put it outs of its existence as it ceasing to exist wouldn't hurt anyone either way.

Here I completely agree with you user. To bring a deformed child into the world, is most unethical. To end/deny it's excistence would in this hypothetical be to deny it a life of pain and suffering, social isolation and a lack of belonging.
I think I fully agree with you user. Inflicting pain for the sake of pain is most unethical and pointless. Death is also bad, but only for those who are still alive. I can't find an argument where the actual death, i.e. end of life, is worse for the child no longer alive than for the adult. The pain of loss is a privilege reserved for those who are alive to feel it.
