My dad listens to them
They're friggin' sweet! Reminds me of the time I watched them save Christmas.
*cuts to flashback*
They're pretty good. One of the best live shows ever
The ultimate dad rock
I love The Kiss, best band ever, hands down
What is the Family Guy of music?
KISS
Death Grips
Metallica.
Started out decent, retooled to be absolutely terrible.
Absolutely cancerous fanbase.
Family Guy was only decent because we were kids. Farts are funny when you're a kid.
Futurama however, that was a good show.
KISS for me are my 6th favourite band, they've done some amazing albums and some shit ones. Carnival of Souls and Music From The Elder spring to mind. They KIck aSS when it comes to live shows and are definitely a band that will always be right up there with one of the best Glam bands of all time!
dad rock: the band
Literally the only band fit to be called dad rock
I play an Ibanez iceman so I like them loll

>JUST
>black metal
No thanks.
absolute shit. Disgrace to rock in roll. The disney™ of the 70s for edgy fat overaged old guys who used to rock all night and fuck back in the good ol' days and couldn't tell you what an iggy pop is. Never made memorable shit, no legendary song, solo, riff. Contributed nothing to music except their shitty gimmick, which sadly led to GLAM and gave way to even shitter acts like Motley Crue. No one important in rock history would cite them as an influence, cared only about selling tshirts, brought commercialization to rock. dont forget your official KISS® Coffee-mug, KISS® ass-wipes, KISS® cereal with a real Kick for those who wanna rock! KISS® water, KISS® condoms, KISS® hershey kisses, KISS® dog shit
This makes me want a Scaruffi rant about KISS.
Actually, holy shit why does he hate The Beatles so much when KISS exists?
>the memes have become real

Rock is for youth. I think this where they've gone too far for sure.
fun 70s party rock..cool image..neat to look up old concerts circa 'Love Gun' on YT
Kinda wished they were heavier, no need to get bent outta shap that they weren't/aren't some prog outfit
I can enjoy the early stuff unironically, late 70s stuff totally ironically & ignore the rest....
>Actually, holy shit why does he hate The Beatles so much when KISS exists?
lol, KISS took their entire style from the song day tripper
My mom likes KISS about 50 times more than my dad.
KISS actually has a few decent heavier songs;
Creatures of the Night
Not For The Innocent
Exciter
I'd Fight Hell To Hold You
No, No, No
Sword and Stone
Unholy
That's as far as I go for unironic enjoyment though.
post your favorite directionless peter criss drum solo
also, the most nuanced bass solo of all time:

Early stuff up to Dynasty is GOAT!
Sure they're assholes but they're fun to see live.
Anybody who overthinks this shouldn't even comment on this thread.
"good" band, it's just normiecore, if you say you like them people will say that you have good taste, they are not the best ones out there and they're just bland
This is the only song I like by them

Why always post these shitty late career vids? That's like judging Metallica by a 2015 concert.
That's probably their worst major hit.
Strutter and She are personal faves of mine. Also it's funny how Christgau sperged out at them objectifying women. What a cuck.
They're a good, fun band. They're not exactly high art by any means but the music is enjoyable and fun to listen to. I saw them twice on the Freedom to Rock Tour last year and those were a couple of kick ass concerts.

>30+ years too late
2nd tour, 1975
need to listen to KISS, the songs i know from them are classics
1975 Midnight Special, harder non-poppy song 'Black Diamond'
1977, height of popularity (before disco took them wrong direction)
Muh nigga.
Not a guitarist, but if I was, I'd totally rock the iceman just on a e s t h e t i c s alone
Never judge a band by performances 30 years past their prime.
Check out all their albums from the 70s. You can't go wrong. Alive! and Alive II are GOAT tier live albums. As far as the 80s stuff goes, some of it is kind of a hit or miss but Creatures of the Night and Lick it Up are 10/10 albums. The other stuff is pretty glammy so if you're into that sort of thing you might like it. Unmasked (1980) is really poppy and commercial, and The Elder (1981) is Kiss attempts a prog concept album. You either love it or hate it.
As far as 90s Kiss goes, Revenge is pretty damn good, very heavy metal. Unplugged and Alive III are essential live. Carnival of Souls and Psycho Circus are good but skippable unless you REALLY want to hear more Kiss.
Kiss rules idiot
How old are you?
Kiss fucking blows but Rock and Roll All Night and Detroit Rock City are pretty memorable
They bad
I think you're hyping them up a bit too much...
Strutter and Black Diamond are great songs.
This rules also.
I really love their MTV unplugged album.
'Still love you' from that is probably one of my all time favorite songs.
