Love any feedback I can get for this. If anyone is living close to Fort Collins, CO, and interested in playing this kind of stuff, let me know.
Very well recorded and pretty catchy overall. Feels more like pop punk or pop rock than any sort of post rock/ambient/any of the genres you mentioned. Maybe math rock, but even that's a stretch. It's a lot like early Panic at the Disco without the gimmicky instruments. Hope that doesn't come off as a diss, because it isn't. Just what it reminded me of most.
Already commented on your plunderphonics thing, gotta say though - the harsh noise one confuses me. Guess it was just a fun thing? Feels pretty gimmicky but not all music has to be serious, just don't know what to give feedback on

I like the instrumentation, but the vocals sound bored
I feel like you're really good at writing driving songs, like choi minsik action figure. I'm not huge on the found vocals either, but I pretty much never am, so whatever. Pretty good overall.
Just to clarify, it's not about it being harsh noise. Shit, even in shoegaze, one of my favorite bands is The Goslings. (see youtube.com
But to each their own...?
I like the punky feel of this a lot - not enough punk in most shoegaze imo. Still wish there was a little more done with this though. Simple riffs can totally work with shoegaze, but the guitar tone isn't anything special overall and there aren't any layers to the guitars, so...it's just a simple punk guitar riff with reverb, with a simple bass riff and simple drums, then reverbed vocals. I dunno. It feels like ez-mode shoegaze. Doesn't elicit any real feelings and it's just sort of there.

I love the chorus in breakfast in Uganda. The slap has towards the end has me groovin as well. Definitely going to give the whole album a listen later on.

I'm really digging this
Listening to some of the previews for the new album, Rosa is really good. What do you use for instrumentation on that track?
How many singers do you have? If its just you, you can really mold your voice to a song, nice man
yeah it's all me, I put various effects on my voice and then sing it in a different register and various other shit
Youre right haha, I do have a tendency to just keep it simple and not spend time working on the songs. thanks tho for the feedback, your music has pretty much everything you stated its v well done
I like this a lot. I like the beachy feel to it. coming from someone who grew up near the beach, I fucking love that solo clean guitar
your production is pretty clean too. did you record in session or track separately?
also full album when?
This is fantastic, its like Sun Araw if he didn't fall into the self indulgent and overly long noodle loops and was livelier.
Will be listening to more of your stuff later on.
>7+hours of the same static noise
Oh I didn't know you meant that album
Well, yes. But harsh noise wall is very much an existing genre, atonal drone/texture music as you wish. I like to play it occassionally to chill but I rarely listen to this type of "music" for more than 20 minutes. In this case I wanted to push boundaries (as far as this effortless genre can go) because I haven't really seen single tracks longer than 80 minutes yet, and I wanted to make something long, devastating and monolithic, like the original movie that left huge impact in me. The static nature of the album represents how slowly the movie progresses, and how some scenes can be 10-20 minutes long. I think this type of nihilism fits my ars poetica, but I don't think I'll be releasing any more wall noise besides lowercase.
If you like the Goslings and you want to give one more chance to HNW you might like Hullámsír
I like how a simple photo like this can make a nice-looking album cover. If you cropped more out I wouldn't have guessed it's the bottom of a rubbish bin(?)
The music on the other hand needs some polishing. Nameless town starts off with a looped base riff that gets really obnoxious after a minute or two. Reminds me of the early releases I did under the Gub name, a simple riff repeated for 5 minutes, then guitar improvisation on top of it. I suggest you to start writing songs and be more conscious, because monotonity itself is just boring. For it to become relaxing it needs some extra spice. It should be overwhelming enough for the listener to just "go with the flow"

Thanks for the kind words dawg. We recorded each track separately in a studio for that song but for our ep we did the same thing but out of our drummer's garage with an sm57 and a shitty condenser mic off amazon. cool stuff:
Ayy, Home Media likes my stuff. Nice to hear!
Anyway, I have only a one major complain. I feel like the mixing makes this song sound a bit "out there", you know? Especially the high parts which feels a bit too high too. But maybe that's just my taste. Very pleasant tract though on the fundamental level. Pretty, poppy and indeed surfy. Bloody good job but maybe consider a bit more mastering work. Not a lot but a bit will do!

Recs:
those genre labels and sick album covers made me think you mean business, and it seems like you really do. "Drone Station 11" was a great orchestral drone/ambient track. Rosa was also really, really good. just the right amount of sparseness, even if the windy instrument thing isn't the best thing to carry a melody that nice in my opinion, it sounds good. when i can scramble a bit of money from my summer job i'll buy it. just saying, if you wanna get your music out there, free (or at least cheaper) distribution always helps spread the word a lot faster.
while you might think im just saying that so i dont have to pay for your album (kinda guilty of that) it really is the best method for success at this early stage.
the guitar midi on "fuck it" is incredibly hideous at first, but when you added another synth to accompany it, it blended quite nicely. not big on the drums, either. sounds less like techno and more like a midi rock song.
i didn't like like
the speed up and slow down of the beat wasn't to my taste, and generally i found it to be a kinda bland one to start with. dont wanna judge the rest of your music by one song since it seems to be a very varied album, though.
thank you for the feedback I appreciate it a ton
i was pretty iffy on the midi I was using myself, just the default since I'm not really sure where else to find any others, any recs?

You're still a talentless hack who masquerades behind forced artsy clichés and superficial borrowed opinions to cover up the fact that this is indeed all you can muster.
You must have realized this already, you know it to be true.
I imagine it must be sad to realise that in a thread full of musicians who actually play and arrange music, you resort to labeling your vain little attempts up as art, and then compensate by posting the most often of all.
I feel sorry for you.

Full of Doge? More like Full of Need of Polishing amirite? But real talk - this could be good if recorded and mixed better. Or maybe not I don't know really. It feels there is something in there. However I feel like this association with memes is pretty... strange? I don't know, I feel like these elements doesn't connect themselves well with the provided music.

Recs:
I would have been surprised if you had anything to defend yourself with.
You monolithic fucking tool.
Harsh noise wall is only fun when it comes with a concept.
I like this quite a bit, but the noise at the end just seems like an excuse to not have to write an ending to the song. The noise fade-in sounded like some sort of build up to a noisyass climax, but then it just ended up being a glorified fade-out.
Can agree with this overall. More of ambient noise, but have you ever heard And They Say's album HGI-9884? It's supposedly his idea of the soundtrack to a dying star, kinda hard to find but it's still floating around the internet somewhere. One of my favorites.
I can be harsh but you're just being a dick. It's not like his music is hurting anyone, and his other album that wasn't a noise wall had a much different feel to it.
I like this quite a bit, but the noise at the end just seems like an excuse to not have to write an ending to the song. The tongue fade-in sounded like some sort of build up to a noisyass climax, but then it just ended up being a glorified fade-out.

Also, another thing: The pink background really clashes with the album cover and subtracts from it.
>Also, another thing: The pink background really clashes with the album cover and subtracts from it.
Yeah, that's the label thing, not mine. I really wish BC could make an option for making a different background image for each album so that each of them would have a different design to it. Would be a ton helpful in this scenario.

Already ahead of you. I'd love if you had extra artwork, notes etc. Personally, I always add some more artwork and texts to each of my releases to expand on the theme of the music. For me the Gesamtkunstwerk is important. Sounds, images and words all have to come together to create something bigger than just the parts.

idk i just make music i don't listen to musci
Alright, I finally listened to it.
The production is pretty sweet and for the most parts it flows in all the good ways. I didn't like some thing in the first track but I'm also not big on electric guitars. The piano in the second part tied things nicely together.
I get the punk thing a lot, just comes with my give voice. I take no offense to anytime you said. I'm glad you dig it.
(my return feedback)
Ryan Gosling would be proud. I like the vibe, I would recommend when you edit your guitars to look for ringing frequencies to cut, it'll help mellow out your treble along with letting the listeners blast your music. I feel like this is the stuff you just turn up loud and sink into. Good work.
Yeah... A lot of this material is a bit low for my voice but I tried. Thanks!
(my return feedback)
I see what you're doing. Is this live loping? I'd see some reverb would probs help this style. I feel like the depth would aid in the relaxing vibe you're going for.
I was listening to a lot a U2 at the time. I didn't even think that would come through. But i'm glad it has.
(my return feedback)
I assume you had someone else produce your jams. So if is a friend i'd suggest least compression on the whole track(on the master fader). Aside from that I'd say don't be so stiff on you lead guitar line, ~flow~ my friend! That said, good stuff!
[hope my comments are to much production talk, I'm just trying hard to do this producer thing. Thanks again everyone!]
A very interesting appreciation, and that is the objective, the music does not match the values represented by these memes, anime, grindcore, mixed with blackgaze. The idea is to desacralizar those sounds, because to create a cover art that has relation with the music is very typical, very habitual, it is too much pressure to make the typical disc of blackgaze of thematic and dark art, black. Nah, I wanted to do something that amuses me, with memes (??
>I'd see some reverb would probs help this style
yeah, I wanted to not go overboard, but I think I underdid it instead. Thanks for the advice.
...
It's supposed to represent the emergence from the fantasy, as pretentious as that sounds, and return to normal life. It was sort of my excuse to have this song that sounds so out of character on the record.
you're right, it sounds pretty pretentious and extremely lazy since you could have done the same thing in a more interesting way with music
