One day he'll review a movie and not the current socio-political climate.

What a igantic nigger faggot

You already have hundreds of people who whine or praise the movies. Go watch your youtubers.

Armond is incredibly pretentious and contrarian, but his approach still has values. He doesn't review the movie as much as he tries to give them a meaning. He talks about why we get the movie as it is.

He's more sociologist than movie reviewer. I understand if it's not your cup of tea, but why complain when you'll have thousands of other people telling you if you should like it or not.

>only a gay monkey is allowed to brush up against a fundamental truth, goyim

tldr
summary pls

"I'm black but I'm conservative so I'm not a thug or anything. Please respect me."

He's right, that's it.

>...But the Marvel kids aren’t railing against DC because Suicide Squad gets the genre wrong; they object to the opposition’s very existence — and to its ideology.

>...They (Snyder & Ayer) both approach a childish genre like adults — and that’s what annoys the Marvel kids, whose bad rap on Suicide Squad has already gone viral.

BASED

This wasn't a review of the movie, it was man telling me why A company is better than B company without telling why the movie is watchable at least. It isn't objective and doesn't get to the point.

Holy shit

Ok so who is this guy and why am I reading his incoherent rambling "review?"

MARVEL JUST GOT BLOWN THE FUCK OUT

He's right.
Ironically a black gay man has more balls to say things as they are than the rest of today's nu-male critics.

This. DC movies are far more mature and touch deeper themes than the childish entertainment that is Marvel.

Can he ever be, theoretically speaking, wrong?

what else are they sayin on the playground these days?

What ideology. I read the article and I still don't know what the author was trying to say.

He's a black film critic that is infamous for always writing his reviews as the opposite of whatever the critical consensus is. Naturally Sup Forums feels a spiritual bond with him because he embodies their contrarianism.

> every black that disagree with my taste in movie is obviously a house nigger

Jeeez

WEZE CRITICS NOW

BASED GOD KING OF REVIEWERS HAS SPOKEN

>Like a public accustomed to political pandering, the Comic Con fans who relish the ridiculous mix of humor and chaotic violence in Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool don’t realize when they’re being condescended to or cheated.
Amazing

>first line compares DC fan and Marvel fan 'rivalry' to US presidential election
FUCKING DROPPED

Can't this nig nog cunt just review the film instead, just tell us simply what you thought of it we actually don't give a fuck about YOUR view on society, we want an opinion on a film we're interested in

Because you're a faggot tourist

Fpbp

>Armond actually take the "DC is kino that plebs don't understand" meme seriously
just when you thought he couldn't get any more ridiculous

...

>Think metaphorically again, and see that Suicide Squad entangles post-Vietnam and post-9/11 notions about heroism and citizenship. Deadshot does the right, patriotic thing, yet compliments Waller, his treacherous superior, saying, “That’s gangsta!” This use of hip-hop cynicism speaks more directly to modern confused ethics than most lines from other movies and most politicians. Suicide Squad is The Dirty Dozen for millennial viewers (and voters), who think their patriotic moral conflict is new.

this actually sounds accurate when talking about marvel fans who hate at DC movies

I haven't seen SS but I still do think that the executives have been fucking up the editing process. can't believe ayer that son of a bitch won't give us an ultimate cut

>Snyder and Ayer are like presidential and vice-presidential candidates attempting to synthesize popular sentiment with their own feeling for aesthetic reform.

Does this guy resent the fact that's he's just another brick in the wall movie reviewer?

what are some of his must read reviews?

>He's more sociologist than movie reviewer.
Then why doesn't he have a degeee in sociology? Is it because most of his sociological observations boil down to "Obama" or "nihilism"?

How can Marvel keks recover from this?

>Marvel kids are going on the Internet to attack any proposed DC narrative, with the intention of dooming its box-office prospects — makes a useful analogy to the fracas in our political arena.

THAT'S PUTTING THE FINGER IN THE WOUND!!

This, his review is a load of pretentious bullshit. He ignored all of the glaring faults of the movie and gave it a pass because he thinks the director shares his political views.

>tfw you made this pasta
feels good man

Any examples of Marvel vs DC shitstorms ? I never saw them for my own. It feels like it;s just a meme.

The only reason you faggots love Armond White is because he justifies the kino meme.

Holy shit he is so based.
Suicide Squad confirmed KINO

One could say Suicide Squad is on ... suicide watch?

There is a major difference between attempting to do something and doing it well. Dawn of Justice was ambitious, however, it was still a bloated, poorly written and oddly edited mess of a film (referring to theatrical cut).

Even if it's not exactly memorable, Marvel/Disney does usually manage to make a comparatively competent and entertaining product.

>dat vid

youtube.com/watch?v=Ca0wZCVD9M8

He likes the movie because he thinks it has conservative messages and he hates Marvel movies because they have liberal messages. It's typical Armond, he thinks every movie has some kind of political message and if the message he finds lines up with his views he'll give the movie a pass no matter how terrible it is.

You have to go back

Do you have any real argument?

BASED.

The king has returned.

Neo/tv/ pack your bags.

He really is our guy

You forgot to mention
>thinks The Tree of Life is banal bullshit
>loves To the Wonder and Knight of Cups even though those films are extremely similar to The Tree of Life and explore the exact same themes as The Tree of Life

what the fuck is wrong with these people

>exact same themes

They had some overlap, but you are over exaggerating them.

you mean "Will Smith's squad" ?

Okay, I'm exaggerating but they're very similar.

>Speed Racer
That's one of the few times I deeply agree with Armond White. Speed Racer is a soulless CGI orgy and the CGI is headache inducing cartoony bullshit.

wtf. he writes for national review now?

this fucking magazine is continually digging its own graves.

frig off Stefan

Are there any scenes where a black man, playing scooby or scrappy, fucks either of the girls?

someone's upset

>He went against le critical consensus, checkmate
Armond is a pretentious douchebag but not agreeing with IGN, Salon, etc. isn't what makes him a bad reviewer. You should actually read his reviews and say why he's wrong.

Amond's the only reviewer who when I'm done with the article still have no idea if I will like the movie or not, but at least they're usually interesting to read.

Sociology degrees are as good as a 48 hour period of google searching topics. That's how much information you get.

Huh? But more than half the time he agrees with the consensus, which from an objective standpoint means he legitimately critiques movies with little to no external influences, which is more than can be said than literally every other supposed 'critic' out there

back to your condescending 'entertainment' marvel kid

he's shit, sorry.

If your primitive MCUck mind could even comprehend what he writes you'd actually know that he does in fact provide objective critical analysis with reference to the film's own cultural surroundings

Thank god we have at least ONE critic who doesn't just discuss banal technical aspects and commercial merit. Even if most of his sociological ruse articles are obviously for the sake of going against the grain, it's fucking refreshing and at the least coherent.

you were saying?

Basically if you dislike DC movies, you're a Marvel fan. Overlooking that majority of comic book fans have never been brand loyal. They follow the characters, artists, and writers that they enjoy. And since both writers and artist bounce between brands its damn near impossible to be brand loyal.

But then there's the black and white people. They see no shades of grey. You're either this or That. You can't be a fan of Wolverine & Batman. You can't enjoy X-Men & Spiderman TAS and also enjoy Batman TAS & Justice League. Didn't like Superman TAS? Well fuck you Marvel fanboy.

In other words its all in the heads of the mentally impaired and trolls get to fuck with them because it's funny.

This is to not dismiss that there are a minority of brand loyal fans, but how many of them are have an illness like being autistic is unknown.

>explore exact same themes

Spoken like a true entry level redditor P L E B

i can almost guarantee you haven't watched neither To the Wonder or Knight of Cups, maybe Tree of Life but that's a stretch

What now?

comics died a long time ago

In case you didn't realise, movies and comics are two totally different mediums with two totally different commercialist systems that would imbue said consumers with different mindsets between those two mediums, to chock it all off to 'trolls' gives away your own inner fanboy to one of those said brands (my money's on Marvel) and to act as though you have some kind of moral high ground really grinds my gears, brand loyalty has always been one of the cornerstones of brand competition especially in the 21st century where funnily enough the comic book movie industry exploded with life.

That review is astounding. I never thought about capeshit from sub specie aeternitatis. It seems like our age's mythical figures aren't being taking seriously, in the future, lets say 2000 years from now, it will be weird to know that humanities' prodigy 2000 years from now will be looking at the mythical figures with frivolousness because we also looked at them frivolously. Maybe Synder and Ayer are aware that history is being made (10 years, probably more, of capeshit) and they want to take the process a bit more seriously, and not make our Jesus into some laughing stock of the future but to give them some spiritual depth.

He pioneered it

He's not the king of Sup Forums for nothing, marvel kid

Once again, Armond cuts through the bullshit and right to the heart of it.

>degeee in sociology
DOES HE HAVE A DEGREE IN REVIEWING MOVIES!

Triggered

Funny that you claim of Brand Loyalty isn't displayed in most fans. Again, a minority thinking they're the majority.

I'm sorry you're not mentally capable of liking both Wolverine & Batman. Or Spiderman & Superman. I wish the best for you in your frustrating life of black and white.

As for non-comic fans, they don't even understand it's different brands most of the time. Which is why you hear people asking why isn't Batman on the Avengers? Or people thinking Marvel is making fun of itself in Deadpool for the joke about the Green Lantern movie. Most regular movie fans didn't get the DP toy reference either.

People don't review movies anymore. They shill whatever agenda their publication is trying to shove down our throats.

what constitutes an actual 'review' to you?

...

The general public seems to like most of the movie he praises. Why don't you accuse the critics consensus of whatever of being contrarian then? Do you think movie quality is completely objective and that once you get to be a critic you know enough that your taste becomes uniform with the rest of critics and that this taste is correct?

>MCUcks literally CAN'T refute this

Please, someone stop rotten tomatoes and all the bribed critics by marvel!!

I'm soo insecure and if the majority don't like the shit I liked, I just will shoot myself. Waaah wah.
