Hope some of you who haven't heard yet can enjoy this, it's easily the most personal music I've ever written and recorded. Gotten some great feedback and reception so far, and good criticism on improving the next album. Love y'all
Pretty expansive collection of tunes there. Listening to Dunkle Tage right now. You captured exactly what you wanted to, I'll say that much (insomnia). It has this zoned out, hopeless atmosphere that's almost suffocating even though it doesn't get very loud. It's oddly not repetitive at all, even when you use repetition...does that make sense? A lot of dark ambient tends to be over-reliant on repetition and uses a single idea as a crutch. This feels like you're really digging into a single idea and trying to encapsulate it instead, and that's what ambient is all about. Downloaded.
Rec'in:

Thanks for listening to it!
Interestingly, one of the most prominent complaints about my music is "too much" repetition. But I have worked with repetition for 10+ years and I use it to evoke a hypnotic and ritualistic atmosphere. Most of life is repetition. Rhythm is repetition. For me music is something to get lost in and that is very possible with rhythmic repetition.
I a not too big on shoegaze but I will give your EP a listen.
Alright, this is actually very, very decent. I liked Constant the most but it does remind me of the FEZ soundtrack a lot. So I don't know how to feel about that. The rest of the EP is good but less interesting, unfortunately. I will listen to An Album next.

myself, replying to a lot of people and want to avoid confusion
Really subdued but enjoyable because of it. From the instrumentation to the lyrics. The lyrics are great imo. No flowery language, just melancholy and an air of honesty. And the chord progression was pretty simple overall, but that's all the song really needed. Would like to hear it with more - a good bassline and even some simple drums could make the song like a more stripped down Spencer Radcliffe. It left me wanting just because the lyrics resonated so much, I think, but the song was just okay by comparison.
rec'd as always, listen if you haven't folks, one of the best here
Yeah, the repetition works really well for you. Hope you enjoy the EP! Someone told me yesterday she had an incredible experience just listening to it really loud in her car with her eyes closed and the seat leaned back so...yeah. Listen loud, if that's what you're into.
I can definitely see the early SY and Swans influence. But...this is odd. I can't get into it at all, and I like weird music. It's not the focus, it has a nice central theme to it from what I can tell and you can see you're a really creative person listening to it. I don't like Swans at all either, so I'm sure there's something I'm just missing. But...it just feels like there's a lack of emotion I guess. And often just musicianship in general. Like, I absolutely loved the swelling atmosphere of songs like Mullvad III. But it's just something I can't mesh with at all. I like plenty of noise rock, droney projects, ambient, etc, but something about this just doesn't resonate. Like, it almost feels inauthentic for some reason. Mullvad is mole in Swedish, yeah? I saw you're from Puerto Rico. What does it mean to you? Just like, the crux of this type of music is the emotion, and songs like Mullvad IV I can hear you playing the notes and the chords, and I can hear how it's building, but...it's just there. Sorry.

Lamancha here. Thank you so much, I'm really glad you like the lyrics. I'm always self-conscious about anything I write, so I needed that. I definitely agree with you regarding the arrangement needing more instrumentation. I'd really like to add some simple percussion and, at the very least, a sweepy sort of bass line.
Really digging your stuff, some of the better shoegaze I've heard from Sup Forums. I especially like Armadillo, though I think I'm left wanting the outro to stick around a little longer. The build-up and transition into the heavy stuff at the end is so good, it's a shame that you don't jam out for just a little longer. Really cool release over all though.

Okay, so this is just a bit shoegazy and somewhat postrocky and also with other things mixed in. I like the flow and some of the samples are quite interesting. It's not what I'd personally listen to every day but I approve of this. There are people out there who will love this.
bump
I like this you motherfucker, good job
I really want to like this but...the vocals. It might be something I just have to get used to, because the instrumentation is really fun. Unique mathy space rock vibe and produced really well. Almost like The Fall of Troy's instrumentation, produced like the re-recorded version of the Ghostship demos, can't remember what they called that...but it's pretty good. Very fun.
Just realized what the vocals remind me of - Coheed and Cambria. This has to be some serious Claudio Sanchez worship, if it isn't I'm super surprised. They're already growing on me.
Fuuuuck. Just over a minute into The Vanity of Toil and I'm already downloading this. The transition around 1:05 in is what so many indie bands posted on here (and elsewhere) are lacking - a lot would just be content to repeat the first part over and over throughout the song with maybe a chorus using the same overall chord progression. But you have the arpeggio step down and then overlay a gorgeous secondary guitar riff, then return again the next time with vocal harmonies, and another segue at 3:24ish...this song is over four minutes and it flew right by.
Your vocals are phenomenal. This is probably top 3 things I've listened to on Sup Forums, no lie. Downloading your other albums too. This stuff should be a lot bigger.
Glad you dug it! I get what you're saying on Armadillo, I'm just a big fan of songs not overstaying their welcome, but in gaze it can be nice to just let things carry on for dreaminess' sake. That song was the first song written on the record desu (was originally called drip and released by itself in 2014) and I just didn't want to change much about it. Thanks for listening!
Big compliment if you don't like the genre usually. I don't really know what to call it genre-wise desu, it's all over the place. Shoegaze just fit best.
Bah. Thank you. :)

oof this is definitely the best criticism ive ever received. i honestly feel like my music is always missing emotion but i can never figure out how to add that. it was a really frustrating and stressful album to make so a few times i did just give up and half assed a layer or two, i.e. IV. also im a terrible guitarist and i know little theory. guess its just a bad product due to laziness and ineptitude

Listening to track three again - I like this one. I like roughies like this, nice build of extra layers of violin and female vox towards the end, also just sort of downbeat and not over-doing the performances. lots of potential. will have to have a better listen later.
