Here is my scale of heaviness 1. Radiohead, not heavy at all 2. Seether, not really heavy unless you're a pussy 3. Megadeth, got thrash riffs, but not sludgy or anything 4. Metallica, got them thrash riffs and some breakdowns. Too bad Lars sucks. 5. Slayer, heavy shouting thrash. a good place to start for heavy shit. 6. Slipknot, poser metal but has some heavy stuff 7. Death, thrash + death metal = heavy 8. Pantera (only the songs like Suicide Note Pt. 2) 9. Rings of Saturn, heavy shit for sure. the guitar solos are dope. 10. INFANT ANNIHILATOR. Even if the drumming is programmed, it is extremely heavy. The vocalist is amazing for sure.
Post opinions and your own scale of heaviness, anons!
Not particularly bad. The only problem I have is that Radiohead is much heavier in comparison with a lot of other bands. It should be like:
1: Sufjan Stevens, ones like Carrie and Lowell 2. Neutral Milk Hotel 3. Radiohead 9-12

Their drummer is kickass too.
Jayden Turner
op here, I forgot CATTLE DECAPITATION! Though they would tie w/ rings of saturn anyway, its just good giving them a mention
>people thinking screaming like a dying pig and getting the same tone from your tremolo picked guitar while kicking the bass drum 300x a minute = heavy
Nmh is heavier than radiohead by miles. I don't hear clipped drums or fuzzy distortion in radioheads discog
Owen Ramirez
I think it depends what Radiohead we're talking about. You're right for most of their discog, but remember that they made Climbing up the Walls, Myxomatosis and Bodysnatchers.
Juan Bennett
That's pretty dang heavy user
Here's slower song from a grindcore band. It blew up as a kinda "one hit wonder" meme song among folks who don't normally listen to stuff like the rest of their discography. youtube.com/watch?v=DFyU6NFrfFM
Easton Green
The problem with this is that it's hard to define heaviness. I could argue for Abominable Putridity, Moss, or Eleh being the heaviest music I've ever heard even they're all completely different styles of music. Heaviness can take the form of insane and unrelenting instrumentation, crushingly thick noise, or smothering atmosphere.
Kayden Nguyen
this is pretty cool desu
