Was there actually a better musical decade than the 90s?
Was there actually a better musical decade than the 90s?
No.
1930's or gtfo
Haha absolutely. The 90s is the worst decade of music.
>grunge
>nu metal
>gangster rap (though some of it was alright)
>techno
>alternative rock
>Ska
Terrible technology and fashion as well.
Hummer best song
your gay mate
maybe the 70s but its still open for debate.
Anything from the XX century until now has been pretty much garbage
>defending the decade with smash mouth, sublime, nirvana, aqua, a bunch of shitty no name gangster rappers, Ace of base, The Verve, green day, nsync, backstreet boys, Britney Spears.
Every decade has their fair share of garbage
>gangster rap (though some of it was alright)
We're being rused aren't we?
>including Sublime, Nirvana, and The Verve despite all of them having at least one 7/10+ album
hey fuck you backstreet boys are great
The 1960's, because that's when rock music became a thing
>he doesn't listen to deftones or bosstones
>Implying that Siamese dream is their best album
Go back to Red dit
60s, 70s, 80s are vastly superior
>90s Green Day
>Aqua
>The Verve
>Backstreet Boys
you're supposed to name shitty acts you dunce
90s was the peak of western civilization generally, and thus the peak of all time in human history
>Was there actually a better musical decade than the 90s?
The 60s. 1967 alone beats every following decade the fuck out.
>terrible fashion
get some taste
maybe the 70s.
hey dad
the '90s were horrible for music
why would i listen to a 2 hour album bro
>60s
>Velvet Underground, MC5, The Kinks, Stooges, 13th Floor Elevators, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, Captain Beefheart
>70s
>Patti Smith, Television, Black Sabbath, The Fall, Talking Heads, Brian Eno, Joy Division, The Damned, Richard Hell, The Modern Lovers, T. Rex, Deep Purple
>80s
>Public Enemy, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., Devo, Prince, Metallica, Tom Waits, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Black Flag, Minutemen, Husker Du, Fugazi, Bruce Springsteen, Run-DMC, Slayer, Beastie Boys, New Order, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Einsturzende Neubauten
>90s
>Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Cherry Poppin Daddies, Collective Soul, Sponge, Dishwalla, Creed, Puddle of Mudd, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Nixons, Seven Mary Three, Better Than Ezra, Candlebox, Live
The fact that alot of 90s garbage sounds much more dated than 60s music, speaks volumes on how shitty that era was.
kek
black flag sucks though

People will sneer at you and call you "le wrong genoration", but the 90's were litttrrly the sweet spot of perfection for every genre
Rock- grunge
Metal- thrash
Rap- gangsta rap
Electronic- IDM
Pop- lol who cares (bjork)
This is why i hate 80's revival so much.
The 90's is were its fucking at man, like everything comes together perfectly, all genres represented, doing something unique and cool
Eh, I liked Henry Rollins, but Keith Morris was better IMO. And as bad as Greg Ginn is now, he signed some good acts back in the day - Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Minutemen, Saccharine Trust, Descendents, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, etc.
I know a lot of people that don't like them, but they have their place in the world.
wrong
rock - shoegaze
metal - death (thrash was 80's)
rap - u got it right
electronic - IDM was nice and all, but techno met a much bigger improvement. Plus there was jungle, drum'n'bass, garage, all kinds of good shit bloomed in the 90's
pop - you had smooth r&b, boysbands and stuff. it was alright
All of them IMO. Don't get me wrong - there's some great 90's music (Siamese Dream for example), but the lows were really, really low.
>grunge, shogaze, britpop, nu metal, pop punk, ska, emo
>gangsta rap, g-funk,
>IDM, techno, big beat, trance, happy hardcore, trip hop, drum n bass
>industrial metal, death metal, thrash metal
>cute but deep pop girls like bjork, natilie imbruglalalala, fiona apple, Norah Jones, Dido. Alanis Morissette, , Jewel
General culture of XXXXTREME, edgy, and sarcastic
HOW THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE THINK THE 80'S IS WORTH REVIVING MORE THAN THE 90'S!!!
1570's
It's always been the 60s
Decade rankings in my opinion
>90s
>80s
>2010s
>70s
>60s
>2000s
agreed, but switch 2000s with 2010s
the 2010's have been the most garbage era known to mankind, the only good thing is rap.
Poptamism is a cancer, Electronic music got turned into a corporate abomination and re branded as "EDM", Rock is practically dead, the only thing left is indie, and its nothing but really shitty shoegaze that sounds all the same.
Christ man, even movies were better in the 90's it was the era of indie films and directors, movies today are nothing but fucking super hero remakes.
Name what you think is the best decade
it's all downhill from here
anime was better
movies were better
music was better
tv was better
IN 2017 its all garbage, consolidated garbage, marketed towards whney millennials who get offended at everything
80s
60s
70s
Mellon Collie is the pleb filter
