ITT: The moment that made your favourite album a 10/10 for you

>And aren't you happy just to be alive?
>You've got no cross to bear tonight

Those horns on Here Today holy fuck

The deluxe edition is better because it has cocaine socialism
>just one hit and I feel great
>and I support the welfare state

The 100 or so times I listened to the Bring the Sun crescendo

oh we'd love to hear your story
just as long as it tells us where we are
where we are is where we're meant to be

The very first moment, and each subsequent sound only further entrenched me within that conviction. I don't know how or why I fell in love with it so quickly, but the seed of doubt was never present in my head, even when I had only seen the album cover, and possessed absolutely no idea what sort of music was contained therein.

My man

This is Hardcore is Pulps masterpiece but Cocaine Socialism is easily one of their best songs ever.

>I can't sleep, and food has lost its taste... GOD, I'M SO SICK OF THIS PLACE!

When the live version of Pink kicked in…after all that had happened in the album so far, which includes some very nice doom cuts and an abbreviated, (better) live version of Feedbacker.

bump

>continuously use the sun and moon/night and day as metaphors
>metaphors seem to tell a story carried out through the whole album
>smooth transitions between songs add to the story effect
>last line is the vocalist and backing vocalist harmonizing on the phrase "reinvent love"
>reinvent love seems to be the theme for the album and tour
Tears form every single time.

this sounds like 6 levels of gay, and theres only two.

If you're trying to insult them, which is probably the case, just keep in mind that some of the fans believe that, too. They use the album as "proof" that the singer and the guitarist/backing vocalist were dating at the time, which they weren't.

>squint skyward and listen
>loving him, we move within his borders
>just asterisks
>in the stars' set order
>we could stand for a century
>staring, with our heads cocked
>in broad daylight at this thing
>joy, landlocked
>in bodies that don't keep
>dumbstruck with the sweetness of being
>till we don't be
>told, "take this
>AND EAT THIS"

*asterisms, fuck

the opening chords

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD

>I put this moment... Here
>I put this moment... Here
>I put this moment... OVER HERE! OVER HERE!
>Can't you see where memories are kept bright?
>Tripping on the water like a laughing girl.
>Time in her eyes is spawning past life,
>One with the ocean and the woman unfurled,
>Holding all the love that waits for you here
That turn to a man is so well done

>that final refrain that's completely drowned out by the fuzzed up bass and guitars
