I didnt discover them untill recently.
I've only listened to "Stage Four", much of it is hit and miss, but the opening track really resonated with me. My dad had cancer a couple of years back (he's still alive though) and I didnt know how to deal with seeing my dad so frail and fragile.

how is it emo (not being sarcastic, I want to know what you believe makes it emo because I am actually interested)? I always thought they/their albums were groundbreaking math-rock/post rock albums that came from a band that dabbled in Post-Hardcore? In the same way as Don Cab was. These cats use to run with Big Black, and Jesus Lizard.

I feel like compared to the other false emo bands around at the time (Brand New, MCR, Dashboard Confessional, etc.) they were the truest to original emo (by that I mean 90's emo, not emotional hardcore)
