literally just wrote and recorded this in the last 30 min, it is about these radical shits that keep fucking with our way of life. I don't know about you guys but I've had enough of this shit. anyhow if you got the time give it a listen would love feedback soundcloud.com/skrim-dimmler/enough-is-enough
I'm a 22 y/o choir boy baritone who's mediocre at both singing and guitar but I want to branch into some decent punk rock. But I can't. It always ends up sounding like trash. ESPECIALLY recorded, I swear I don't sound THIS bad live... but I'm still bad.
Tips on getting a better punky sound, especially in the vocals? I know I'm not doing the guitar much justice here either, but I'm hung up on my voice.
Sorry bout vocaroo, don't feel like I'm at the level to warrant having SC or something.

use your throat more
you do sound this bad live
since you can record, record a backing track and then sing over it and try different things until you get something you like then go from there
bro there's nothing wrong with your voice at all. It doesn't sound that punky, true, but honestly why would you want to sound punk when your natural singing voice has an awesome kind of matt & kim sound to it? You could just sing that way over punk chords and it would be fine.
first of all, if you're not playing live, record backing vocals and harmonize. Layer two recordings on top of each other, one slightly higher/lower pitch at less volume and you'll be amazed at how much better you sound.
Tiny bit vague, but I suppose more throat kind of makes sense. I'll try that out tomorrow when my roommates aren't asleep, thanks.
Thanks man, I appreciate the kind words. Guess I just need to work with what I got too, though I can't help but feel my tone is a little boring. I FEEL like I'm putting a lot of emotion into it, but I don't think it sounds that way.
I'll try the multi track layering. I've tried that type of thing before, but it can be tough to keep my voice totally synched up with the background, and it makes me cringe when it's noticeably two tracks.
Sometimes when I come to these threads I feel like we're in school and our class is sitting in with another class. Not ok with the sex ed feels.
This is beautiful, I love the delay for some reason, delay is my favorite invention, fuck.
This is super cool and I'm impressed that it's analog, good stuff

fifth track off of my second tape. alternative rap, fuckin around with the flow on this one, tell me what ya think. all feedback is greatly appreciated.
I've told you this in the past, but I fuck with your stuff heavy.
This is some really clean production. Your atmosphere is on point, but you also have a really warm meaty tone in your songs so that it's not too space-y. Great stuff
i'm just wondering if this sounds good. i don't wanna post it on soundcloud yet because i'm not sure. i would really appreciate any constructive criticism, thoughts, or notes.

My turn!
So I've been at this for awhile, this is my first release, planning another one for this weekend. But in the wake of Drake's More Life "playlist" I call this a "Short Story" I hope you enjoy.
not bad bro. this is pretty slept on desu everyones too busy jerkin it to every >beats / >chill they can find, like always reccd
have seen this before, wondering why i havent again sick as fuck, really like it reccd af
really well mixed, very high production quality respect, reccd
i really want to like this a lot, i do but there's just something missing its good maybe as like a 20 second loop on an indie video game? i just feel like it's lacking something, substance-wise still very well made though, props reccd
Bruh this is so good. kinda stuff you bump while just driving on a nice day with nothing to do Will definitely listen to this again while trying to sleep Good vibes all around
>Funk Rock >Radio Samples >SPACE >Other styles too NOICE Your singing isn't too bad but you stop pushing towards the end of your sentences and it just turns into talking, keep working at it! Very tasteful chords Good mix, the subtle background sounds really give a lot of space to the lead parts Chill, i like the slightly sloppy tracking it feels very genuine. John the Revelator is great, really unique composition
>Lo-fi Sound >Instrumental Hip Hop >Chill beats >Madlib Vibes >Flylo Vibes

I could use a little halp maybe. No soundcloud yet but I made this recently, and I've done other stuff like it. The thing is, I don't really know what to call it (genre-wise), and if there would be any interest in it. Any ideas?
All I know is people have told me my stuff sounds "video gamey". But I don't really know what that means lol.
>soundcloud.com/totinoboy love the feel of your latest track. I would like to hear it filled out with tons of twinkly arps and pads and whatnot, but that's probably just me.
I'll keep browsing through the thread.
