Nice YouTube recommendations core

It's babbys first modal jazz but it's still a damn great album and decently influential in Japan

>t. "I'm 18 and my music taste is obviously superior because I listen to bands that are literally who's."

fuck off, pleb

He's like a much worse Bill Evans

this is the truth

it's really piano bar jazz 101

OP is just b8ing and wanted a jazz thread

kek

He started to learn piano at 22, at 28 made this. I agree that it is basic-ish but the story behind it is inspiring as all hell and it still is a solid album by itself.

Butthurt or what

Its a good album but not the best jazz album ever made. Its a good entry level to jazz and very easy to listen to.
This album was just okay. Best jazz album of the last few years, but there hasnt been much good competition or stuff to compare it too.

LET ME SEE WHAT SPRING IS LIKE ON JUPITER AND MARS

wait is that in the album

what album is this

It's still a good album, does it really matter how people found out about it?

Hey, if teh music is good I'm not gonna complain about the recommendation.

of course not, his comment was not meant to be negative

>people think this is "good jazz"

>he doesn't post an alternative
Why don't you enlighten us on what's good jazz user?

...

>h-heh, y-y-yeah!
>if he hates Justin BIEBER s-so much, w-why isn't he as f-famous as him!!

this situation has nothing to do with popularity what are you even talking about?
also who are you quoting?

this compilation is GOAT, made me more interested in spiritual jazz

not that user and still don't know what the album is, but here's some good jazz:
thelonious monk - "brilliant corners"
wayne shorter - "juju" and "footprints live"
charles mingus - "black saint and the sinner lady" and "blues and roots"
gerry mulligan - "night lights"
miles davis - "bitches brew", "tribute to jack johnson", and "birth of the cool"
cannonball adderley - "somethin else"

off the top of my head without looking at my library

Do you have something that isn't entry level?
Note: entry level doesn't mean bad.

Call me pleb but I never could get into Mulligan's tone.

the suprerior youtube core jazz album

alright i wouldn't call all of that entry level, but realizing i have my ipod:
pharoh sanders - "karma"
robert glasper - "double booked" and "in my element"
aaron parks - "arborescence" and "invisible cinima"
butcher brown - "backtracks"
charlie parker - "jazz at massey hall"
duke ellington - "money jungle"
fred hersch - "whirl"
gretchen parlato - "in a dream"
herbie hancock - "mwandishi", "thrust", "crossings"
james farm - "james farm"
joshua redman - "compass"
john coltrane - "giant steps"
lee konitz - "subconscious-lee"
mccoy tyner - "the real mccoy"
thelonious monk and sonny rollins - "thelonious monk and sonny rollins"
wadada leo smith - the "yo miles" series
walter smith iii - "casually introducing walter smith iii"

i definitely can't help you there, he's my favorite in terms of tone. it's just very pure, and his melodic ideas compliment it well

it's not modal jazz

>much worse
that's a funny way to spell "less boring"

>"bitches brew", "tribute to jack johnson"
not jazz lol

HA!
WRONG!

>bitches brew
>isn't jazz
Found the purist pleb

i never claimed it's anything shot of an excellent album
it was actually the album that got me into jazz
it still isn't jazz

>there hasnt been much good competition or stuff to compare it too
nice bait, nearly had me

>Found the purist pleb
Jazz died when Trane died. Sad but painfully true.

Currently listening to this right now, pretty awesome.

Thanks m8

where does one start with bill evans?

yes it is lmao

i hear moonbeams is great

Thank you- entry level pleb when it comes to jazz and appreciate the recommendations :D

I would either say portrait in jazz or sunday at the village vanguard.

I bet you think the King of Limbs isn't krautrock too.

lol. this album is good but actually a meme. coltrane, for example, is way better.

this dude gets so much hype like he's bringing back jazz. he's trash

thanks

I think that hype's dead now - at least the Miles Mosley and Cameron Graves albums recorded during The Epic sessions with the same musicians are now out and pretty much no one cares

>youtube core
>the best jazz album ever made

>ok, kruck

IF IT'S NOT FROM LATE 60S - 70S GERMANY IT BY DEFINITION ISN'T KRAUTROCK
