don't wonder around on your own if gay (im assuming your gay)
Texas is larger than most european countries, so don't expect driving to be a breeze. Refills tend to be free. Texas has many conservatives in it, so expect to see those type of people. Some tend to have accents, but most people talk normally. If your going out to eat, make sure you tip, or next time someone may spit in your food.
Live in austin currently. Liberal af. Protests about trump. If you are gay you fit in, if you arent - you will be soon. Parties all night. 6th is chill. Assuming you are going to UT? Dont be a pussy and bang some hoes
Austin is different than the rest of Texas. It's a much more liberal college type town. Cool place to live
>gun violence in ATX is minuscule. You are more likley to die from smug vegans and white people before you die from getting shot.
>AUSTIN has so much good food. like unlimited amounts of good food. They have nice parks and many places to go:kayaking, museums, theaters...etc. Many things to do my friend.
>for things you should know. Uh. Idk if ur white u will fit perfectly in. also there is a large homeless population problem, so be on the look out for homeless people. Also be careful on buses and stuff. ATX has some druggies occasionally.
Go to 6th street
Its the "live music capital of the world", but most bands suck.
Good barbeque
Tons of hippies
Traffic sucks
Full blooded Texan here. Texas isn't like the stereotypes. Don't try to kill people and you won't get shot, the capital is really nice and the bars/ restaurants there are phenomenal. There really aren't any local customs other than saying y'all instead of "you all". Don't say howdy or do anything stereotypically Texan/ Southern though, that's for trashy tourists. If you have any other questions kik me: AdmiralKiwi
Don't leave Austin.
anyone in austin rn down to go to torchys. I will scream niggers at 7PM (53min ) .... come to my table
Austin is a cool city. East Texas is a shit hole.
its great except for all the rednecks and cuckservatives
>don't go near any places predominantly inhabited by blacks or mexicans
>indoor skydiving is pretty much the only good thing here besides the food
>dont drive like a eurofag and pay attention while driving
if your not in a gang and worry about how much people "disrespecting" you, you will have zero problems
Pro tip is to remember the alamo
also a decent tip is considered to be 15%
most people i know including myself usually just tip 20%
go rent kayaks or canoes on river with a date
bang her after
dont take her to eat downtown $$$
always eat across the river
stubbs bbq has good cheap shows
>Liberal af. Protests about trump.
Kek, you guys need to chill with that. Still got a few years ahead of you, don't want to tire yourselves out too fast.
Going to UT yeah. Banging hoes was more of an 18-year-old-me thing. Now I'm just scared of STDs.
>tipping
Fug, thanks for the reminder. This still seems absurd to me so I really need to keep this in mind.
Thanks a lot m8, you make the city sound so good.
I will now trust my superpower (white skin) will protect me.
>Go to 6th street
I've heard this from so many people, gotta check it out.
Thought Austin was liberal af? Not that it really matters to me all that much.
I have no idea what this means so I think I'm in the clear.
Thanks buddy!
Best tip so far tbqh.
learn to love tacos and craft beer
go to a gun range. i think there's like 3 in austin. also look up south by southwest. it's kinda austin's thing.
Native Austinite, been here my whole life. Austin fucking sucks. It used to be pretty based back before the first population boom in the mid/late 90's but now it's the most pretentious, hypocritical, insufferable collection of assholes in the entire state of Texas. I finally said fuck it and moved out to Bastrop - which isn't that great but it's better than Austin.
I'm also a UT grad so I can tell you a little about campus life. Stay away from dirty 6th if you're over the age of 23, it's nothing but drunk college kids and the east end by I35 can turn pretty dark sometimes if you know what i mean. West 6th is ok and so is 2nd/5th street area as well as Rainey Street and some shit over on the east side (lots of hipsters on the east side but not alot of nigs). There's new shit popping up all the time on S. Congress and S. Lamar so they can be cool too. Lots of dive bars here and there but they're mostly ruined by hipsters now.
Don't even think of living anywhere near Runberg - It's all niggers. The Southeast side is mainly Spics and white trash. Stay close to campus as possible and if you have to move outward try to stay as West or Northwest as possible. East side used to be the ghetto but now it's pretty nice, but like I said it's all hipsters and trustafarians. Longhorn games are packed with pussy so def hit up the tailgates. Austin has a million fucking music festivals a day so there's that to look forward to I guess.
Hope that helps a little. You probably won't ever meet anyone that was actually from Austin because we all had to move due to the retarded cost of living increase. Austin is one of the most highly educated cities in the United States, so unless you are getting a masters/PhD in something useful I wouldn't expect to get a job - unless you want to bartend or wait tables.
I've never had a taco in my life.
Will do, I like shooting guns.
Appreciate it, very detailed advice.
>unless you are getting a masters/PhD in something useful I wouldn't expect to get a job
I am, but I don't plan on staying there. I already have a couple of offers lined up elsewhere (including back in good old Yurop).
