High fidelity

good choice

Yeah it's also High Fidelity for me lol

Thanks, I didn't think anyone on Sup Forums had seen it but you must have good taste

They literally are personifications of this board, you don't even need to see it

The book's slightly better (obviously) but this film is just as good as a movie version could ever be.
John Cusack lived the part. I can't imagine anyone else in the role. He alone justifies the transition from London to Chicago

Extremely quotable too

...

The Phantom of the Paradise

That's not true, multiple characters in that movie actually have sex with someone

nice one

That OST that tries to simulate auditory hallucinations with sampled Beach Boys tracks is just amazing.

...

Is john Cusack /ourguy/?

School of Rock

This is great
RIP Chris Cornell

My nigga

swedish flick about three chicks starting a punk band, pretty gucci

About a Jeff Beck sort of musician who dies and more importantly the aftermath left in his wake as a former Music television host and his
widow struggles to remain clean and form a relationship with a son that was left in her husband's parents care.

Nick Nolte is fucking great in it, and it features Emily Haines and Metric in an actual speaking role, as well as Tricky in a cameo role.

This is not a Kurt Cobain Biopic. It just has a long haired, blonde grunge musician who breaks out of rehab and hides while his friends look for him and dies in a greenhouse and his found by a worker.

High Fidelity is literally just another romantic comedy except with like 5 min total screen time of them talking about records

stop reminding me of where I am

Sup Forumsvies don't get any more kino than this

(except maybe yellow submarine)

pic related and 10.17.09 are probably my favorite Sup Forumsvies

...

It's a short film but I honestly really like this

Personal fav Anton corbijn + joy division

Daniel Johnston in 'The Devil and Daniel Johnston' is probably my favorite, together with Searching for Sugar Man

yeah but it's a really good rom com

I liked Inside Llewyn Davis but High Fidelity is my favorite

Searching for Sugar Man is rad name, putting it on my watchlist

all really good films

Still need to watch it, but I kind of get the gist of it, its a crazy story.

Sixto Rodriguez recorded 1 album in 1970 that was a total flop in the U.S., but sold really well in Australia and South America. The film documents 2 south American fans trying to find Rodriguez, who was rumored to be dead.
Its a good 70s folk rock album too

>Song to Song hasn't been posted yet.

fucking plebs

One of the funniest fucking movies ever made.

I love this board
Yep, the movie is almost as good as the book because of the amazing performances
I think Jack Black does a really incredible job too

...

great pick. it's my 2nd favourite movie of all time

Oh hell yes I love this movie

I enjoyed it the first time I saw it

This is great

...

Dig!

Great movie.

horrible film

i don't know what to think

...

If you're not familiar with the writer or his particular humor you will feel confused..

That being said the adaptation isn't exactly like the book, this was because of directorial approach and total artistic freedom

I personally didn't like the movie, but it does portray the marginalization and under belly of our society

The second half is really messy but overall its good.

I wish more biopics were like this

*south african

Rectification mane ;^)

paul dano was so classic in this movie

Fletcher is one of my very favorite villains and, full disclosure, he did actually trigger me a little bit.

Better than Rocky Horror

Fassbender should start making music, he's a good singer

A parody so perfect it changed the way these movies were made

Where did you see it?
I can't find it anywhere and I love Spiderland

Either Whiplash, or the first half of SLC Punk. I can't watch the second half, its too depressing.
