Best song on the album

Jam of lifetime
Nah. Probably Spinal Meningitis or Mister Would You Please Help My Pony

Spinal Meningitis is too weird for me. I'm a massive pleb who likes the least brown stuff that Ween offers.

how is spinal meningitis good?

AM I GONNA SEE GOD MOMMY? AM I GONNA DIE?

How is it not? The groove on it is damn infectious. Love the solo too.
Sounds pleb to me. Listen to Pure Guava some more. Probably the best way to ease yourself into the brown.

>Listen to Pure Guava some more
The production on that and The Pod is too shitty for me. God Ween Satan is tolerable at points though.

The production on Pure Guava is fine if you think it's tolerable at some points on GWS. I will agree that the production on The Pod makes it super hard to get into but it's damn rewarding in the end. Also has a few of their best songs.

Roses Are Free is objectively the best song on the album.

That's not Baby Bitch.

That's not Freedom of '76.

That's not Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down).

The production quality of GWS is much better than Pure Guava

That's not What Deaner Was Talkin' About.

That's not The HIV Song

Come on, it's a beautiful night for a walk on the beach, wouldn't you say?

Then what was he talking about?

I Can't Put My Finger on It.

>intentionally psychedelic lofi
>shitty

what

Ween's HIV song is 2/5
The only r e a l l y good song about HIV is Pää Kii - Ees jotain positiivista
The lyrics include:
"You forgot the ten commandments, now you have H-I-V"
"You lusted for a nigger's dick, now you have H-I-V"
"Mother Nature avenges, you junkie gay pig, you've got H-I-V"
"The revenge of God, it's H-I-V"
"Something positive, it's H-I-V"
"The eternal damnation's H-I-V"

Did You See Me is one of the best traditional songs Ween ever did but it didn't even make it to a main album. It was meant to be on The Mollusk for some reason.

youtube.com/watch?v=tdMq-5PFsCc

since this a best song war, Jappa Road

objectively Shinola is their best of album

I like the amount of attention Ween threads get.

Ween is a good band

i like ween. i like boognish. ween rulez!

Objectively

*Subjectively

nah

Anyone have any experiences on shrooms where they see the boognish literally on fucking everything? ill be frying and close my eyes and they all have legs jumping and hopping around. that silly little guy

Ween is overrated

nah

*deletes MWYPHMP, Drifter in the dark, voodoo lady, and the abomination that is buenos tardes amigo*

why is it that every ween album has that one song that is the worst goddamn song of all time?
>tick
>haven't listened to enough of the pod honestly
>or pure guava
>Buenos tardes amigo
>Japanese cowboy
>polka dot tail (kinda)
>bananas and blow (kind of, white pepper is their most consistent)
>the fucked jam
>spirit walker

>MWYPHMP, Drifter in the dark, voodoo lady, and the abomination that is buenos tardes amigo
those are all great, wtf
specially voodoo lady
>tick
>bad
what the fuck

you sir have absolutely shit taste and should neck yourself this very moment.

Polka Dot Tail is like the third best song on The Mollusk.

Have you heard Bananas and Blow from the Long Beach Island Tapes? It's much better than the version on White Pepper.

yeah youre pretty fuckin wrong friendo

please dont tell me you guys like buenos tardes amigo, im fine with disagreeing about anything else but I dont understanding how anyone could like that song

The only ween songs I'd say are meh or drag down their respective albums are
>Buenos Tardes Amigo
>Spirit Walker
>Fucked Jam
>Hey Fatboy (Asshole)
and also Stallion Pt 2 isn't bad by any means, but why is it the last song on the pod? Pork Roll is the superior final track, it even ends with them thanking the listener for listening to the album.

Buenas Tardes Amigo is super bland, not a fan.

I don't understand* sorry

>it even ends with them thanking the listener for listening to the album
Are you sure they're not thanking you for listening to the song?

Holy shit you have awful taste.

>thanks dudes, thats it
>thats the album, thanks for listening

or something along those lines.

All they say is "that's the end. that's it dudes, thanks."

I really like it
I'm a fan on how it builds up and compliments the story being told

its too stone faced to laugh at but its too stupid to take seriously, its like its trying to be the funniest and driest joke of all time but fails because its so weird and lacks any good jokes, plus its 7 minutes long which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long for what it is

Really? For me the reason I don't like it is because I feel that the music doesn't evolve at all with the story. I find the Gift by the Velvet Underground to be a much more interesting narrative song (and its spoken word!) because the music evolves with the story. Buenos Tardes just has the same 3 chords over and over and over and over.

>Buenos Tardes just has the same 3 chords over and over and over and over.
but that's not true? it starts and ends with just a guitar but more instruments are gradually added in the mix
I think it's supposed to be semi-serious. I don't remember any jokes in the song

yeah but I cant take Gene Ween doing a fake spanish accent singing spanish stereotypes seriously

huh, you're right. I always thought there was more to it, but I guess not. It just seems like them signing off to the album, a song to end the album that isn't as dark and gloomy as everything else on the album, like a taster for Pure Guava.

You will have achieved full brown once you realize every ween song is god teir, and every ween song is its own world. and every album is its own universe. And their discography is this dimension you live in. And deaner and gener are your gods.

kek yeah that's a bit jarring

quints confirm Gener's mexican voice is a bit to corny for the song

g-guys...w-we're going to get at least one more album before one of them dies tragically...right?

hopefuly at least Shinola Vol 2

QUICK. MAKE THE TRACK LIST FOR SHINOLA VOL 2.

Birthday boy is Ween's best song.

shut up

Shinola vol 2 already exists. Retards.

not it doesn't

1. Pot Luck from Ceaser Demos
2. Makin Love in the Gravy from Craters of the Sac
3. Long Beach Island from the Long Beach Island Tapes
4. That Man (From the Flatlands) from Ceaser Demos
5. Skycruiser from Skycruiser
6. Mountain Dew from Paintin' the Town Brown
7. Seconds from GodWeenSatan Sessions
8. The Argus (Part 2) from Quebec Sessions
9. I Get a Little Taste of You from Z-Rock Hawaii
10. Put the Coke on My Dick from Craters of the Sac

So many songs to pick I have to pick 2 categories

Relaxing:
>Kim Smoltz
>Pass the Bong
>Little Miss Mandee
>Ambrosia Parsley
>The Argus Part 2
>Tear for Eddie Part 2
>Main Vein
>Koko
>So Long Jerry
>Eulogy for David Anderson
>Long Beach Island
>Albino Sunburned Girl

More Brown:
>Seconds
>Spleen
>Mr. Mocha
>The Mind
>Junky Boy
>You Can Go Shit In Your Hat (Matt)
>Bag of Fat
>Good Time Rhymin Song
>Waxy Dribble Song
>Cover It With Gas and Set It On Fire

Yes it does. Idiot.

prove it

you mean the fan made compilation?

Shut up idiots

come on man this is a ween thread, be positive. You thought there was a shinola V2, there wasn't. Just chill.

hey fat boy, come here
you killed my mother
I'm going to kill you

Uhp, yup, this post made me butthurt

>if anything the worst song on Chocolate and Cheese is definitely I Can't Put My Finger On It

I don't even know what to say to that

It's a more stimulating song than Buenas Tardes Amigo.

I THINK I SPENT THE DOGFOOD MONEY

What's wrong with Japanese Cowboy?

I really enjoy the live version of buenos tardes amigo but I admit the album version is only ok

I cant be the only one that has this album as their favorite
