Why doesn't Warner Bros just give us what we want? Man of Steel was shit, Batman v Superman was shit, Suicide Squad was shit; now it's time for them to put all their cards on the table and make the definitive Batman film.
Give us a full fledged Batman and Joker movie. Delve into the Death in the Family/Dead Robin storyline, show flashbacks to a younger Batman and Joker, use this to emulate The Animated Series aesthetic, show Robin's death, just get real gritty with it.
This is what Ben Affleck's solo Batman film needs to be.

I feel like we missed out on a good Batman movie. They skipped over Robin dying and Bruce falling into darkness. That would have been a great movie, but now he is already past it all before we get to the first Batman movie.
There is no conflict or tension, affleck is just "le angry" because of robin and that's it. There is no point of them talking at all because Affleck probably just wants him dead, Leto can only tell him that his mom was also called Martha so it's all good.
