Dig*

Entry level, or any level jazz

Folk (or Art-pop/rock) music that is extremely melodious and uses a lot of diverse instrumentation.

Obvious shit like Fleet Foxes for the former or Kishi Bashi for the latter I'm aware of (and is why I want more lol)

Ka - honor killed the samurai.

Listen to this asap.

This is actually the correct answer, didn't cross my mind

These are both instrumental hip hop so maybe not what you're looking for, but:
Jaku by DJ Krush combines hip hop with traditional Japanese folk music.
Madlib's Beat Konducta 3: in India is instrumental hip hop made from Bollywood samples.

Miles Davis – Kind of Blue
Charles Mingus – Mingus Ah Um
Art Tatum – The Complete Pablo Solo Masterpieces
John Coltrane – Giant Steps
Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers – self-titled (aka Moanin')
Dexter Gordon – Go
Andrew Hill – Point of Departure

Came here to post this.

experimental/art arabic music

Post-punk + noise pop

Anouar Brahem – Barzakh

I guess muslimgauze
I'm kind of lacking in that area

May get hate for recommending Reddit on here but r/jazz has lots of good "new to jazz" recommendations in the sidebar.

thanks guys, I appreciate it

Punky shoegaze

Folk or rock music with a lot of vocal harmonizing that isn't Fleet Foxes

Please give me some more post-rock that has a lot of downtempo influence in it.

This was godly.

Akron/Family
Love is simple a good album to start wiht
your welcome

Prog rock with idm influences/elements

this or set 'em wild set 'em free, which is posted pic

le bumpu desu

Gonna ask again for Harsh Noise + Synthpop :)

Pop punk that's more punk than pop.

Troller, kinda

...

...

Modern space rock that doesn't go ape shit with drone

90's style shoegaze with heavy walls of overdrive guitar, but includes spacey atmosphere like Pink Floyd, and melancholy undertones similar to Smashing Pumpkins

Some long, mostly instrumental music that invokes a certain eerie feeling. Doesn't need to be rock. Something like Echoes - Pink Floyd.

wew

Beautiful music that is also fun to listen to. Best example I can think of is unironically ITAOTS. Any genre goes.

Experimental psychedelic stuff

Onra - Chinoiseries
everything recced except Point of Departure
Don Cherry - Mu 1st part (the 2nd part is something a lot of people fail to appreciate so please leave that for later)
Sonny Rollins - Saxophone Colossus
Max Roach - Freedom Suite
Eddie Gale - Eddie Gale's Getho music
Hank Mobley - Dippin'
Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Osorezan
Krystof Penderecki - Matrix 5
Antoine Beuger - Young Man's Guide to Antoine Beuger
Tangerine Dream - Zeit
Any and all Sweet Trip albums
Oppenheimer Analysis - New Mexico
John Fahey - Fare Forward Voyagers
Taeko Ohnuki - Mignonne
Momoko Kikuchi - Adventure
Les Rallizes Denudes - '77 Live

Anything like the Silent Hill 2 OST

Dark and melancholic ambient/instrumentals that still manage to sound pretty in their own way

Red krayola - parable of arable land
Pärson sound - pärson sound

Gas-Narkopop

Good pop music with a female singer. I've already listened to EMOTION, Night Time My Time, Art Angels and After Laughter

More like Third Ear Band.

The United States of America, some Krautrock...
Can- Future Days

BUMP

Folk with Sludge Metal

Music like Hysteria by Muse. I know it's not the best thing ever but that song has just stuck with me so much and the rest of the album doesn't have that same sound.

Slowcoaches - Nothing Gives
Ornette Coleman - Science Fiction

I would like something that sounds like Exuma if you can

I don't like Tame Impala but I like psych rock in that sort of style and I've exhausted the Beatles' discography at this point.

So, psych like Tame Impala but better. I like what they were trying to do but I don't think they were wildly successful. If you want a specific example of the kind of stuff I'm looking for, my favorite TI song is Apocalypse Dreams.

electronic ragas

>Can- Future Days

Nice. Thanks.

electronic like Rustie, Crystal Castles, Murlo, Clarence Clarity, White Ring, Ash Koosha anything even remotely similar to any of those artists. Or even just any other electronic artists that are good.

also anything similar to any of these artists:
Car Seat Headrest
iceage
Jeff Rosenstock
King Gizzard
Tame Impala

if you couldn't already tell, I'm extremely vanilla and need new music

Ramones
my request: gangsta black metal
