>slowcore
>indie punk
>midwest emo

>trap
>white girl rap
>angry white kid rap
>vaporwave
>metalcore
>slam
>weebgrind
>other meme genres

kpop

anything made by black people

>atmoshit black metal
>slowcore
>indie pop
>post-metal
>crunkcore

>music

post-punk
shoegaze

forgot krautrock as well

>tfw when user hates post metal

soundcloud rap
being a skelly with long hair and metal shirts would make you creepy 5 years ago, now it gets you art hoe pussy

>angry white kid rap
Like Bones?

Let's admit it, post-metal is mostly shit

kpop
chamber pop
trance
metalcore

>synthwave
>witchhouse
>vaporwave
>meme-rap
>lo-fi
>trap
>punk-rock
>punk-pop
>nu-metal
>indie rock and pop
>emo
>videogame music
>OST
>Nintendo-core

>videogame music

That's such a broad genre though
Do you mean like c64 stuff?

Reggaeton

Pretty much anything that is videogame background music. I don't know why people would listen to that, it's background music for a reason.

anarcho-punk
post-hardcore
garage punk
crust punk
gothic country
hard bop
bebop
spiritual jazz
jangle pop
Delta blues
deathrock
skramz
art punk
blackened death metal
noise rock
alternative singer/songwriter
posi-core
mod
glam rock
progressive house
industrial
atmospheric black metal
soul

>kpop

>country

>old school hair metal

This stuff got me into Industrial, Dark Ambient and drone so there's that.

I mean, the music is a huge part of the experience. I personally listen to the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack on its own all the time, because I love the atmosphere

lol, wtf is "indie punk"?

progressive rock

Honestly, fuck those irritatingly breathy vocals that are on every single prog. album from the 60s-70s.

Yeah, pretty much.

Awful taste. Just awful.

>le token RYM drone soundtrack

>delta blues
>soul

on the spectrum user?

>slowcore
>twee pop
>death metal
>metal core
>pop punk
>post-punk revival
>industrial metal
>soul
>vaporwave

> Kayo Dot
> Helmet
> Godflesh
> Pelican
> Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (to an extent)

HipHop in general
Pop
Kpop
Death metal
Noise

I don't use RYM. I just really like the SH series since I was a kid and I was always intrigued by the soundtrack because, for the longest time, it was unlike anything I had heard before.

Yeah, the music is exclusively there for the experience and it's great, but I can't comprehend people who listen to it on their own.

Witch house
Vaporwave
Trap
Rap
Hip-hop
Weeaboo stuff
"Lofi Hip hop" / "Beats"
Post rock
Synth pop

Honestly, southern rock used to really piss me off, but I started listening to the Allman Brothers Band today and am actually really enjoying them. I just really dislike Lynrd Skyrnd for whatever reason.

So, I'm gonna have to say
>Soundcloud rap
>Bebop
yeah, it's a "pleb" opinion I know. But it's just so self-indulgent to me. I enjoy all other types of jazz (I even play a fair bit of jazz in my local scene), and I even enjoy bebop to an extent, but it also pisses me off
>Anything "Indie"
I like the idea of being independent, but the whole "indie" label is just obnoxious
>Kpop
self explanatory. The fans are especially annoying.
>Glam metal
Mostly because of glamposters on /metal/
>Brostep
>Nerdcore
>Crunkcore
>Bro-country
>Country Rap

I agree except for post rock, why do you hate post rock?

I actually just decided to list my favorite genres (including the embarrassing ones like posi-core) to see how people would react. The answer: aggressively and a little defensively

The genre is inherently pretentious and fashionable
+ From what I've listened to, it's boring and lifeless

gothic country sounds interesting

Just wondering, what have you listened to?

It's neat, basically the musical equivalent of the Southern Gothic literary genre. If you want, check out 16 Horsepower, Wovenhand, Slim Cessna's Auto Club, and Jay Munly. I grew up in Colorado, and it's the only significant genre I know that was actually centered in Denver

Labradford, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Godspeed, Caspian, A Silver Mt. Zion, Do Make Say Think, God is an Astronaut, and a lot of other bands one of my friends played me back in the day

I fucking love gothic country and all those bands, especially 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand

That's quite a bit more than I expected to be honest...
If you would have time and wanted to give it one more chance; try Hurtbreak Wonderland by world's end girlfriend.
At least to me, that album feels way more emotional than others.

hip hop
rap
trap
edm
pop

>horrorcore
>dubstep

i find'em goddamn ridiculous

trip-hop

only real answer here and i'm the first person to say it!

>lo-fi hip hop
>buttrock
>metalcore
>pop punk
>techdeath
>prog metal
>anime music
>video game music
>nightcore
>vaporwave
>dänsband

>chill lo-fi anime beats

>Reggae (not dub or ska)
>Synthpop (mostly the 80's sound and after)
>Hip Hop
>Djent
>Indie Rock/Pop (being a term that encompasses many styles, i'm sure there some bands that i like that could be described as such though, even if loosely)
>Modern Death Metal (almost everything past 2005-07 is rehashed shit)
>Modern Thrash/ Retro Metal revival
>Slowcore
>Most Melodeath past 1999
>90's Industrial
>Neofolk
>Grunge (not really a genre)
>Witch House
>Vaporwave/ Future Funk
>Chillwave
>Trip-Hop
>Chiptune
>Industrial Dance
>Lo-fi bedroom twee shit

Indie Pop
Nu Gaze
Slowcore
Dream Pop
Hip Hop

>grunge
>not really a genre

>Helmet
my brethren of african-american descent, literally the first time I've heard Helmet called post-metal here despite the fact that they obviously laid the groundwork. Fave album?

Not him but grunge is punk

>he doesn't like sadistik exekution
>he doesn't like disfear

-core
djent
riffless wank
prog
power metal
three-chord punk
slam
reggaeton
trap

none of these are post-metal with the exception of Pelican (which is a shitty band)

Imagine judging music from the perspective of how much sex the music would have.

>bubblegum pop

That twee acoustic music that gets used for mobile phone adverts, no idea what it is called

>there are people on boards dot Sup Forums dot org slash mu slash who don't like vaporwave
Why do I even come here

The number of plebs in this thread is astounding to behold.

>Bluegrass
>Modern Country
>Trap
>Mumble Rap
>Indie Blues

this

How the fuck do so many people hate slowcore? How the hell could you hate Duster?

youtube.com/watch?v=Tw8x9DJ08JM

When will the hating atmoshit meme end?
You CANNOT hate Midnight Odyssey.

>calls people plebs
>dislikes bluegrass and probably listens to vaporwave

nu-cuckmale metal

most electronic music, most noise rock, most post-punk, most dream pop, powerviolence

i like slowcore and duster is a boring band

This pretend macho bullshit on Sup Forums is the most absurd fad on this website to date.

The people you didn't call plebs shows how much of a pleb you are that you didn't choose them

This. Why do all these Neanderthals think all music has to appeal to their masculinity

Noise, some regional stuff from my country... yeah, that's it.

For a music board, y'all don't seem to like much music.

>Unironically enjoying Bluegrass

W E W !

You ever seen a bluegrass band live? Do you hate it because lolsouthernculture?

Were you around for the Sup Forums power rankings era?

yes, fuck rednecks

>then procceeds to go for the low hanging fruit genres
Wow truly patrician

>t. Low-fi hiphop soundcloud mixer

This.

Not that guy, but my favorite album is Betty.

different user, but I'm a fan of pic related

ur mom lel

>projecting this hard

You obviously have shit taste to say vidya osts are shit, so yeah. Objectively wrong opinion. Fuck off.

Come on senpai, I listen to some myself, but no doubt plenty of them are pretty eh, and just there to be there. Only a small percentage actually bear real listening outside of the context. And when I do listen to them, part of it is to remember the context in the first place.
