It's not really a story. I went railing all over Europe and people were very nice everywhere else but France. People were just arrogant assholes even in train stations and places where you are expected to help people. We acted very not touristy, just couple of guys with backpacks wanting to see places.

I'd have ranted some more if it had happened that you were an American, who are those the most stricken by the belief that as a tourist that you're to be worshipped as a Saint wherever it is you'll be in Europe, but you are a Finn so maybe it's not the case with you. But still, I've discovered that tourists, and not even only Americans, usually believe too much in that their status as a tourist means that they can have everyone serving their every whim.
Don't forget that people usually have lives, and especially in a train station where everyone's rushing everywhere, can't all be bothered to help out a friendly tourist.
Also don't forget that we're the country with the most tourists on Earth. From the day we've been born, we've been stalked by tourists paining us for directions, and stealing our time from us. You might think we're cunts, but really all it is is that we're exhausted from helping everyone out, and are tired of tourists acting like kings and queen that deserve every bit of our attention.

I don't mean to bad-mouth our tourists, but those to usually berate you with questions a), pick you off at the worst of times (running to work, exhausted from work, etc...), and b) are never lost. All they do is have you wait around while they cross-reference reccomendations you give them ("ooh what's a good restaurant, when to see Eifgel power, etc...) that they got from other Frenchies, and basically make you wait around half an hour.

When I went to Paris the French people were all so rude and and smelly and dusky andeverything was so dirty I fell down and started crying on the sidewalk. The only people who comforted me were some policemen dressed in orange vests who told me it wasn't the right time to pray yet and I had an hour to wait still. Your country is awful and nothing like it is in old books and movies and you should feel bad about that. I want to cry again just thinking about it. You should be ashamed.
