I hate narration in movies but it's done so well here.

I'm more of a tv guy, but this is my favorite movie of all time

>Why is Goodfellas so great?

jimmy two times

Goodfellas is Scorsese at his best
A brilliant combination of his sharp satire, his energetic tension, his humanisation of scum, his blunt violence and his hilarious dialogue

Tarantino literally owes his entire career to Goodfellas more than any other film

I'ma break your balls break your balls

What did you say? What did you say?

>watching Scorcese movie
>that one Rolling Stones song starts playing

Jimmy two times. Gets dubs. Gets dubs

fucking

My favorite use of that song in any movie. It just really helped drive home how crazy and paranoid Jimmy was becoming, and I don't really know how or why

The narration comes directly from Henry hill himself though. Everything Liotta said was from Hill.

ever hear him on Howard Stern? it was fucking gold

No, it was as Ray, Ray Liotta was the narrator, narrating his performance as HH

I think what user means is HH wrote all the lines that Ray Liotta narrated

Who gave the best performance?

No, no, it's Ray as HH acknowledging he's not a true person, it's meta, Ray narrates as HH narrating as Ray

Probably Pesci. All his lines are clichéd shit now but back in '90 his performance was a revelation. That's why he got the Oscar.

Its funny how Scorsese had some of it soundtracked beforehand, I wonder ift he shot this scene with that song in mind

Dr. Melfi

...

Did... did you not read the second sentence?

Considering how much he uses the Rolling Stones in most of his films, I'm sure he does that a lot

That's from Analyze This. You're thinking of Fredo from The Sopranos.

"It's my privilege, thank you"

Dude is a moron. I'm shocked he lived as long as he did.

Go home and get ya fuckin dubsbox

Salud! Salud!

One of the best acceptance speeches in history

DID YOU NOT READ THE FUCKING SENTENCE, MATE? RAY IS NARRATING AS HH WHO IS FULLY AWARE HE IS RAY NARRATING AS HH, THEREFORE HH IS ACTUALLY PERFORMING AS RAY

...

Tommy

He became a joke in Casino. In Goodfellas he got it right.

XD ZOOMED WORDS

You know something, you're a funny guy

Not memeing but I feel the same about American Psycho. Little things in the background I never noticed but pick up on the umpteenth viewing.

>tfw you'll never sit on Scorsese's head . . .

>elite get
If post ends in repeating digits Goodfellas is officially the GOAT mob movie.

...

...

Probably my favorite movie of all time OP

pretty much all of them, even scorsese's mom.

what the fuck is going on

...

one of best gets ive ever seen

...

In all seriousness Casino was better

FUCK

>tfw the newest remaster gets rid of the line in the middle of the screen when De Niro is talking to Liotta

I've grown to love the line, but it's nice without it.

He was clever enough but he fucked up so much it was crazy.

The part on the commentary where he was talking about being do grateful for a second chance then gets caught dealing drugs again a few years later

WITNESSED

>In October 2014, Sivero initiated a $250 million lawsuit against Fox Television Studios. The lawsuit alleges that in 1989 Sivero was living next door to writers from The Simpsons and the writers knew he was working on his Goodfellas character. It alleges the writers "were aware the entire character of 'Frankie Carbone' was created and developed by Sivero, who based this character on his own personality."[2] A short time later, a character named Louie began appearing on The Simpsons. Louie has been described as a mafioso character, second in command to Fat Tony, and similar in appearance and mannerisms to Sivero, and his "likeness is being infringed in violation of California's publicity rights law."[3][4] The case was dismissed in August 2015, with the judge asserting it was a parody of several Mob characters.[5][6]

No it isn't. Casino is all over the place, still a good movie, but Goodfellas is definitely better.

I like Casino, but there's just something off about it. Maybe it's the pacing or editing, I don't know. It just doesn't all click in the way Goodfellas does.

I think Boogie Nights is closer to being Goodfellas than Casino is.

Every single fucking character is a comfy nice guy

Jimmy, Tommy, Henry, Paul...just the way they talk gives me a boner

My favorite scene is when they go to Rommy's mother's house and she serves them spaghetti. I love how his mother talks
