Are you nerds sperging out about Star Trek Discovery having the first female lead in Star Trek history yet? Time for you guys to wake up from the 90s and get with the progressive program.

Yeah, sure thing. Keep alienating fanbases entirely. Let's see if "independent women who don't need no men" get the movie the money it needs to break even, just like your ghostbusters

No no we're okay with this one.
They aren't doing a stupid reboot, the old male canons are still canon.

Star Trek has always been progressive.

Janeway doesn't count?

No one cares about Star Trek.

Plus hasn't it always been hippy liberal shit?

What do you care, you're obviously not a Star Trek fan since you don't even know this is a tv show and not a movie.

>the first female lead in Star Trek history yet
this is the part I'm supposed to quote and respond to, isn't it

>Who is Captain Janeway?

People are sperging because they're looking for a negress captain and the crew is going to be Transgender

Are you meaning like
Star Trek Voyager - Female Captain
or
Ghostbusters [2016] all female cast?

Plus Voyager was a thing. May be the first female lead of a Trek movie, but not the first ever. So who gives a fuck.

>the crew is going to be Transgender
Which technically already happened when Riker fucked that one alien.

The original casting even called for it to be a man, and Frakes was pissed when the network made them cast a woman.

>"hey look! Watch our stuff! We absolutely have gay characters and female leads! We're so progressive!!!

I fucking hate this generation

>the new star trek will be full of gay sex
bryan fuller, please kill yourself

>first female lead in Star Trek history

Janeway.

And in the first episode she got the ship so lost they ended up on the other side of the galaxy.

Oh you mean Kathryn "ms. male character" Janeway?

I want it to kill Star Trek for good.

The IP owners are unwilling to move forward. Time for it to die forever.

She had a bigger dick than any male member of the crew.

I'm confused. Are you referring to Troy? Riker fucked a lot of aliens. You'll have to be more specific.

Also, what does fucking an alien have to do with Transsexuals?

Star Trek has been like this since the 60s, nothing to do with this generation.

The only people complaining about this are dumb alt-reich fucks who never watched Star Trek in the first place.

>what is voyager

>Time for you guys to wake up from the 90s and get with the progressive program.
This is bad bait and you should feel bad.

I think he's talking about The Outcast.

This is exactly what's wrong with STD. Bryan Fuller just admitted that he's forcing a gay character in reaction to homophobic complaints. Liberal FUCKS insist there's a problem and overreact ostentatiously to rub it in everyone's faces.

STD is going to be the streaming service equivalent of a gay pride parade.

>The Outcast

>Riker falls in love with Soren, a member of an androgynous race known as the J'naii, who dares to be female.

>Working closely with the Enterprise crew, and Commander Riker in particular, Soren reveals to be curious about the differences between males and females. Even though there are differences, Beverly Crusher tells Soren, men and women are considered equal. However during a poker game Worf reveals he is bothered by the genderless J'naii, because he still has stereotypical views on men and women and does not know how to relate to the J'naii.

>Soren reveals to Riker that the J'naii consider it a criminal perversion for a J'naii to identify as either male or female, but Soren admits to having secretly identified as a female since childhood and having had relationships in secret with those who identify as males. Soren finds Riker attractive and is interested in starting a relationship with him. After the successful rescue of the J'naii shuttle crew using the Magellan, Riker and Soren secretly kiss. The kiss is witnessed by Krite, a colleague of Soren, who subsequently has Soren arrested.

The real problem is that its streaming. On a proprietary service that nobody uses. If domestically it was on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon then people might actually care.

Everyone is going to watch that first episode they're showing on tv. Then everyone will watch all the rest on Star.Trek.Discovery.S01.E02.WEB-DL.x264-FKCBS

It's honestly a decent episode.

Not super good for 5th season TNG, but good for like 7th season TNG.

Would have been way better if they listened to Frakes and cast a super masculine dude for Riker to bone.

Star trek has already had "forced characters". In TOS that had a black woman, asian, and Russian on the bridge. DS9 had a black man and a woman as the two highest ranking officers. And Voyager had a woman and a native american man has the two highest.

Alt right fucks are just wingy babies that get triggered when they are reminder than non straight white men exist.

>Alt right fucks are just wingy babies that get triggered when they are reminder than non straight white men exist.
buzzwords: the sentence

And TNG had a robot.

That was super progressive.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't remembered that particular episode.

It's on netflix everywhere outside the US yea?

It was pretty good how they dealt with it I agree.

Star Trek has always been libshit

The only real buzzword there was triggered, you wingy baby.

Having an LGBT crew member on Star Trek
doesn't make any sense though

LGBT claim to be "born that way"
LGBT also make up less than 4% of the global population
0-4% in Rural Communities
1-7% in Urban communities
4-7% in Coastal Urban Communities
especially communities with large amounts of left wing politicians
a clear sign it's a political fad
or
caused by a Genetic disease,
or
a Genetic susceptibility triggered by a contaminant in their Environment

the fact occurrence is higher in urban communities hints that the cause
is primarily contacted in urban locations
meaning it's either unique to Urban locations
or is somehow concentrated there, perhaps in the
water supply, Food, Medicine

possible containments could range from a common chemical,
either from an industrial source, or a biological one.
Biological causes could be a fungus, mold, Bacteria, Virus or even a parasite.
in nature there are many organisms that are capable
of changing the behaviour of a host species

the fact of the matter is LGBT is caused by something
and if the source can be found, it can be cured or treated
such that patients can go on to live normal healthy lives

and frankly with the level of medicine in the Star Trek universe
it's very unlikely LGBT wouldn't be studied and cured
by the time we have faster than light starships

0/10

Kill yourself OP

This thread needs to be nuked

>shit bait thread implying no one knows about Janeway

Or ic could just be because rural communities are generally more conservative than urban so it's more dangerous to identify as LGBT+.

Do you have sauce for that? I'd really like to hear more Riker pushing to fuck a dude

> Rural communities more conservative
so you're admitting it's a political fad

why do you care so much

>acknowledging the existence of genders gets you arrested.
It's like tumblr formed a government.

He also wanted to play Riker as bi.

Do you lack reading comprehension? LGBT+ can't be called a fad as it's been present in pretty much all cultures in recorded history.

Christians want them to give up being gay, and have a hetero family
while nature has found a way to force you out of the Gene Pool
Nature is trying to delete you from genetic history

who's really the bad guy here?
Christians who want you to have a Heterosexual Family
or Nature that wants you dead and out of the way

No. We help people be free and able to express themselves while conservatives wish to oppress them.

Well to start ist not the first.
There has never not been a main that is female.

But no i am not happy about it becaise inthis climate it woll be a shit character that brings other characters down.

This

I just hope they don't shoehorn any trans characters in there. Not because of any personal bias but because they just don't make sense in the context of Star Trek's advanced medical technology.

And if they do have to do it, they should just find a similar looking woman and man and pick one, and use the other for flashbacks.

And trans people shouldn't find it offensive because this is their fucking end game and how they want to end up like, the current ones are only making do with what current medical technology offers.

> present in all cultures in recorded History
and how many of those cultures have survived to modern times?
usually LGBT crops up near the fall of a culture.
it's a sign of cultural death

Nature doesn't want you dead, it doesn't want anything. Nature is neither good or bad.

conservatives have an unwavering sense of morals
(you) follow fads dependent on the present year

>conservatives have an unwavering sense of morals
Thats why they are totally still okay with slavery? Or monarchy?

What's wrong with Monarchy?

Thats how they do strong female characters anyway.
There are no women like this.

What I'm saying is that most conservatives (at lease in america) don't support having a monarchy, where a few centuries ago they did. Ergo they don't have an unwavering sense of morals.

LGBT have higher STD rates
LGBT either Die early
or convert to Hetero as they age

Dying Early and having bad health
doesn't sound like being free to me

This is called splitting hairs.

>And in the first episode she got the ship so lost they ended up on the other side of the galaxy.
BECAUSE OF A MAN!

Many LGBT people feel afraid and alienated. Of course health risks will be higher for such group.
The responsibility for these tragedies lies solely on your kind who sabotages any attempt to help.

>where a few centuries ago they did
so you're comparing completely different people from different eras of time?
your mistake is believing that conservatives as a group (all throughout time) have to subscribe to the same exact principles
the point is that individual conservatives have their own sense of morals and beliefs that they stick to, which isn't simply beaten down by peer pressure from a constantly sliding left political elite

The thing is, humans are straight and some whacky aliens are fags.
You think identifying as otherkin fruit (Gzhi/Gzhe/Gzhiks pronouns) is so foreign to humanity the analogy needs to be drawn by proxy of some one pe special aliens? That's pretty problematic.

1. They weren't lost
they knew exactly where they were
2. getting pulled across the Galaxy by a displacement wave
doesn't count as "getting lost"

It's an allegory, and a pretty basic one at that.

You guys are just as bad as SJWs, why not wait until it actually airs before you start making baseless assumptions.

NO
LGBT have bad health because they're all sexual deviants
and a good portion of them actually seek out
being infected with STDs

and then when us Conservatives
say that LGBT behaviour is destructive
suddenly the left wing politic decides
that 96% of the population is the bad guys

the left and LGBT alienate themselves
the conservatives don't look to alienate
we seek to unite

You're only about a decade and a half too late, OP.

I don't see why you lot are so afraid of LGBT people. If a normal girl doesn't find you attractive, then you won't have to worry about some gay guy being attracted to you.

So?

Star Trek has always been about pushing what was ever considered progressive at the time.

It's wagon trail in space with faggots. That's the premise.

> Nature doesn't want you dead
prove it
take a bath in pig blood
wear clothes made out of raw meat
and go for a jog through an African Game Reserve

Didn't that sorta happen in DS9.

they don't want another fiasco like with Ghostbusters 2016

>Fuller added that there would "absolutely" be a gay character and more sex than seen on one of these shows.

>trans people shouldn't find it offensive because...

Sounds like transplaining tbqh

try to pick a better casting for captain of this new series
