RIP, long live!
Let's have a conversation here for once guys, God dammit!
Here's a question - which genre do you hate the most? Why?
Post your BCs, comment, talk over some stuff etc.

Honestly, I think if someone hates a genre they haven't listened to enough of it yet. Exposure dictates taste to some degree.
Pop-punk, though. Too many bands under that umbrella make me cringe.
>hip-hop, rip rippity rappin'.

I'm starting on new material and tracks that didn't make it to my last album will be appearing. Vocals will also be present for the first time in over a year!

RECS:
Ayy, good to hear you are going back to vocal usage. Shame it hasn't been a lot of it on your last release
It was going to be but lyrics writing was a big issue so the songs I hadn't ready never got finished. This time I'm writing lyrics first and then making the music.
Also if anyone has lyrics wiring tips, I'd like to know. I'm really really bad at it.
>Also if anyone has lyrics wiring tips, I'd like to know. I'm really really bad at it.
Check out my new album. You just might feel better about yourself afterwards :^)
What you do works though. Shoegaze isn't about lyrics either, it's just about it sounding really pleasant. Cocteau Twins are something I think you'd enjoy too.
They work because they are an addition rather than the whole. So maybe that's a tip no.1. It doesn't have to be hearable or understandable to work so, you know
I suppose so. I just try hard with the lyrics since they're so in the foreground of my music usually.
I did shoegaze with another band a long time ago and just use nonsense lyrics but it won't work with pop music.
>nonsense lyrics won't work with pop music
What is every popular Top 40 hit at the moment?
What is later New Order?
Just make a song about a mood and go with a flow of the words. Record yourself mumbling words which work with a flow the track and then work out lyrics out of them. Whatever works best however.
By nonsense I mean I just strung random words together that made a nice sound.
I'll try that mumbling thing though. I've got ideas for lyrics but they're like stories, which I need to figure out how I can convert it into lyrics.
>I've got ideas for lyrics but they're like stories, which I need to figure out how I can convert it into lyrics
Me too buddy, me too. On the same bandwagon as per usual it seems
If you ever figure a way of easily doing it, let me know. I really wish I knew.

Pretty much everyone in here so far deserves a listen if you haven't yet, but I'll post the codes for a lil back pat anyways:
Genre that I hate most? Honestly, most of them have a good bit of merit. If I had to say though, harsh noise and dubstep are up there. Harsh noise because only a few artists are trying to do anything new and push boundaries and retain any semblance of design while most prefer to be overly pretentious and push out garbage they came up with in a couple minutes. Glorified jam sessions. Dubstep because outside of a few artists like Nedry, it tends to be grating, cringey, or painfully derivative.
On second thought, vaporwave. Entirely a samesy meme-genre.

>Black Metal
genre I hate the most is probably trap and the current crop of mumbly "drop the last consonant on every word" rap., although my opinion is probably exacerbated by cringey ass white boys who think they're trendy for listening to it.
