WATERS - IS THIS THE LIFE WE REALLY WANT?

where the fuck is the thread

is good?

its a nice concept album about roger having sand in his vagina

He poses a good question though: is this the life we really want?

Are you happy, Sup Forums? Are you happy? Answer honestly

I'm trying!

I love it.

>album starts with clock ticking

Can this get a 4/5?

no. not at all.

He's opposed to Russian mail order brides?

Wow thanks for the help Roger. Must be easy for a rock star to point his finger at my options for a girlfriend.

Just be yourself, user.

Damn.

the last refugee is my favourite song so far

thats the problem

This album is really great.

wow, I cant believe that this album is how he finally told his fans about his heart cancer

it's far from perfect, but most of the imperfections are due to my own laziness

Much better than amused to death IMO

Picture That is fucking magnificent

Same here. I love the title track too.

Is it just me or did it sound like he pulled a lot from The Wall. If so is that normal for him?

>check on spotify
>3 songs have 100k+ plays
>rest of the songs have

How much anti-Trump and pro-refugee virtue signaling is there?

Those 3 songs were singles so we're released before the album

I don't think any. Phobia released the big anti-Trump album today.

It does sound really Pink Floydish, no, his solo work is not that reminiscent of this style.

Now the cover strikes me as more than just a coincidence. Is This The Wall: 40 Year Update? Or something like that. I mean he brings up WW2 and all kinds of shit.

surprisingly little

it's actually not that bad

Probably AOTYSF. Plentyy of awesome songs on this album. It has that classic Pink Floyd/Roger Waters vibe without feeling dated.

no pro-refugee.

One song has a Trump sample

Is it better than The Endless River?

Absolutely.

looking forward to hearing it, i noticed a lot of samples from other albums in the singles, bits of dark side and animals / wywh etc

musically i am finding some tracks to be a bit boring, and lacking in a memorable melody.

Interesting, I wonder if this is his finale.

yes!!!

I'm actually surprised how good this is
Shame p4k had to be stingy and give it a 6.9
Literally why not 7?

Wut

it's a very good album

FUCK DRUMPF AND WHITE PEOPLE LMAO

>implying that Roger Waters hasn't been doing this for decades

Yeah he has and now more than ever he has a real reason to whine and make shitty music about it

Has he? I know he's a socialist but can you give some specific examples?

Animals, the wall, the final cut, amused to death, etc

Animals
The Wall
The Final Cut

The Wall is not political as much as the other oneas, it does not belong there, it is a story more about invidiual, a story about how humans are hiding behind their walls and this idea is put into the Pink character.

Loving it. Picture That is excellent as is the title track. Bird in a Gale is neat too.

It's not my lowest point, things are getting better I think

Roger Waters just blew away both The Endless River and Rattle That Lock. Now will David Gilmour fanboys finally admit that Roger is a better songwriter than David?

It's a decent album. I really like Picture That, the title track and Smell The Roses. I need to listen some more though and judge the rest better.

They will always like David more because "my guitar solos"

That is a fucking garbage chart.

what are singles?

Are you autistic?

>David Gilmour
doesn't his wife writes all the lyrics?

I'm getting there

What I'm wondering about this album is, does it even have a concept? Is this a Roger Waters album with no concept, just a few similarly themed songs collected together???

There must be a concept going on, I cannot tell what it is, it floats together and there are a lot of parts where there are sound effects like In The Wall, this has to be conceptual in some sort, I dunno how

anyone got a link?
>inb4 itunes and plebify

Check the sharethread

The drums on the last refugee remind me of five years by david bowie

...

#1 best selling in music on amazon boys

(at least, it is on UK Amazon)

Deja Vu is comfy as FUCK

Is this the most profanity filled album from Waters? This shit is raw as fuck

This is his best solo album hands down

Nah. Easily his second best, but AtD is fucking fantastic.

I really like this so far. Currently on broken bones and I love the way roger swears

finally, his big break

what a work of art

songwriting is on point, everything sounds great, Roger sounds 20 years younger than he did on Amused to Death (seriously, he sounds so fucking elderly on AtD, why), the scream on Deja Vu is probably the album highlight

not that AtD is bad, but this is so much more reserved, the messages are important, and the last 3 songs are fantastic - the way they all merge, and the change in tone from "fuck the world" (rightly so) to the idea that the right person can bring out compassion in anybody. i love it

I keep getting a bowie vibe from this

Yes
Also check all the fucking guests in A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Mason does barely anything.

>Mason barely does anything
It's dissapointing seeing him in the delicate sound of thunder and pulse dvds, doing barely anything. Especially when you compare that with how he played in Live at Pompeii.

This album feels more Pink Floyd that actual Pink Floyd after Waters left.

this

The liberal cuckold. Pink Floyd still remains my favourite band though

This is the only thing I've heard by any of them that they've made in the last 35 years. So it's kinda funny I take it for granted like " what? It doesn't all sound like this?" It's just weird, this is what Id expect 35 years ago not only until 35 years later.

He has too much to say and doesn't have the musical ability to keep anyone interested long enough to sit through it. If I wanted to hear an old man rant about politics for fifty minutes I would've just gone to my parent's house.

it's beautiful i love rog now

>Listen to Picture That
>One Of These Days starts playing

wow leftists absolutely BTFO! Shadilay, brother! xD

>This sounds more like Pink Floyd than Lapse of Reason, Division Bell and Endless River combined
it really activated my almonds

actually really impressed with this album
good job roger best thing youve done in years

i never thought i'd like the vocals on a roger waters song so much, but man does he sound great on the last refugee. and the scream on deja vu is also brilliant. didn't expect him to sound so good given his voice on amused to death.

crazy how a 73 year old can still have so much left in him

so is roger waters just trying to see how many times he can say fuck in a song?

Really makes you think huh

Well done roger

Anything's better than The Endless River.

if what he said about another album is true i really hope we get it soon

Not like he ever did anything in the first place. Mother and Two Suns in the Sunset have session drummers because he apparently can't handle anything not in 4/4.

I've always said Roger was the most important member of the Pink Floyd. David is a top notch guitarist and a good singer but he's a mediocre songwriter. Pink Floyd died after Roger left.

>Listen to One of These Days
>Doctor Who starts playing

Is he trying to top Not Now John?

No, too cowardly to kms so I'll just keep shitposting though

...

I thought you were joking
hahahha poor guy

at the moment, yes. although I find it hard that roger waters could relate to me or any normal person anyway

to quote one of waters' own proge worshippers
>The music of rebellion
>Makes you want to rage
>But it's made by millionaires
>Who are nearly twice your age

uh everyone already knew waters was better
even his shows are better, how can dave even compete

>nearly twice your age
but he's like 4 times my age
