Are you non-retarded ?

Any person above mediocre intelligence should be able to solve this.

You pass, good job.

Confirmed third world.

Why not -1?
Addition and Subtraction is the same, so there is no particular order, or from left to right has higher priority?

1

first you + then you -

Damn I thought Krauts were supposed to be smart lol

pretty sure its left to right that has priority if i remember right

other way around lol its 3 am

+ - is the same, so there is no priority for +
my thought too

No. You do multiplications and divisions in sequential order. Same for substractions and additions.

Please don't expose yourself twice.

Depends on which order of operations you apply. When I was in school, they taught us BEDMAS

19

>Canadian education

>Britshit education

But if only operations of the same class are left, you have to go from left to right. Otherwise bedmas doesn't make sense in this case

(9-(3*3))+1

9 - 3 / 1/3 + 1
=9 - 9 + 1
=1

you're getting confusing on the second line, maybe thinking of it as (+9) + (-9) + (+1) will help

The minus is 'attached' to the 9, you can't just ignore it. The problem becomes: 9 + (-9) + 1 after the division.

Its purpose was to teach machine logic. Every programming language has operator precedence, and the order is mostly left to right.

There are no brackets
How the fuck can you solve it

I went like that
9 - 9 +1
9-10
-1

forgot the brackets at 9+1, so operation is reseved because of negative bracket

the outher brackets are unnecessary
9-(3*3)+1 = 1

9 - 3 = 6
6/3 = 2
2 + 1 = 3

Answer is 3
You're all wrong

it seems you don't know how to work with negative numbers
+9 (the first 9 is positive)
+1
-9
it would be 10-9, not 9-10
if it were -9 -1 then it's -10

It gives you the same answer either way.

9 - 9 + 1
0 + 1
1

9 - 9 + 1
9 - 8
1

There is no correct answer because there are no brackets

I dont get it. Isn it it 9? Are you trolling me? How the fuck is it 1, idiots?

MDAS mate

i solves the covariance
implying 9-((3*3)+1) and (9-(3*3))+1 are ambiguous concurrent

3 divided 0,3333333333333333.. equals 9

>cucknadian
>makes brainlet thread in Sup Forums

They tell you the order of operations is bullshit in high school
They tell you to use brackets

aaaah that explains cultural shock

I am French.

Seriously the amount of people who don't get it is alarming.

9.

First you divide 3 by one third, which is one.
then you rest 9 from it and add another.

this is high school shit.

Division and multiplication go before addition and subtraction.

3 divided by 1/3 = 9 because 1/3 goes into 3 9 times

In addition and subtraction, the first operation from left to right goes first

9-9=0
0+1=1

There's your spoonfeed

3 times 1/3 is 1, 3 divided by 1/3 is 9

I don't want to be rude, but can you please explain how the hell you got seventeen and not one?

Fuck me, youre right.

y a mí, que me coma perro?

Speak english, its not your chiqano thread

Three divided by one third is 9
9-9=0
0+1=1
Therefore the answer is 1

hmm... maybe i can solve this if i put it in a binary expression tree

Pemdas

9-9+1=x
1=x

...

That's fair, Pythagorean theorem was my shit but I've never used it in my life.

It's 9. First go alwais dividing and multiply.

I am idiot it's 1.

3

It's 1.

No it's 9.
You can continue being an idiot.

I don't care this title and your opinion but it's 3/1/3=9.

I'm curious, do people in your countries ever use division sign?
Here in 99.9% of cases we just use multiplication, so if you want to divide let's say x by 2, you always write x*(1/2), or just x/2, not x:2 .

Kek at all the trolls and retards whichever ones u r. Way to make int fun again.

Sure, if you still live in the 16th century.

Laws of the algebra has no age.

It's 1.

But it could be 5 as well, if we were restricted to operate to integers, cause then 1/3 produces 1 and 9 - 3 +1 = 5.

HAIL ERIS

MARVELOUS post

The answer is Install Gentoo and use SystemD to find out the answer

As a French, the multiplication sign basically stops being used in high school.

>9 - 3 + 1 = 5

9 - 1 + 1 = 9

9 - (3+1)

...

same here
those bait equations like in OPs pic always involve some unintuitive representation, like dividing by a fraction, so dummies like get tricked

there is no parenthesis, you can't just randomly put it there

can't do easy math

3 div 1/3 is same as 3 times 1/3
so it can be either 1 or 9

7 or 9

>1/3 produces 1
if you actually restrict yourself to the integers, 1/3 is an illegal operation.
Though the obvious way around it is to use the identity a/(b/c)=(a*c)/b so you end up with 1 regardless.

If you're talking about computer arithmetic, 1/3 is 0, so the answer would be 10.

PEMDAS.
9-3/(1/3)+1
9 - (1) + 1
9.

Order of operations is the same everywhere. BEMDAS is a shitty way to teach it for this reason. It's actually B/E/MD/AS.

3 divided by one third is not one you collossal retard

9-3×3+1=1
