Why is everybody shitting on this movie? It's pretty fucking decent. I liked it just as well as Skyfall, as far as Craig Bond films go.

>Decent

Is was fucking trash

...

I kinda miss the wackiness of the old Bond movies

Pretty perfect desu

>Daniel Craig
>shit

Objectively wrong.

...

I liked it, it mixed new and old very well.

I was so hyped for Christoph Waltz's character and they made him so bland. I enjoyed the movie seeing it but it's one of these movies that fall apart if you start thinking too much about it. The story expects us to remember shit from the earlier Craig Bonds and that was ridiculous. Also DUDE IT WAS ME ALL ALONG LMAO

Wrong
Pleb taste

Craig please go to bed

It's awful. I actually paid money to rent it and really regretted it. The pacing and vibe is so... deflating, things just happen, no tension, build up, gravitas, rendering it all so inconsequential. Blofeld especially.

Bond is shit, ok?

I liked the girl

GOAT Bond car

this

Jack Decker > nuBond

the movie is ultra shit

the real question is
what went right?

Craig has killed the series more than Brosnan ever did

>decent
it's shit as all Craig movies

They managed to make James Bond vs Illuminati boring.
And the fact that the main villian was that closely related to Bond or that he orchestrated everything that happened before wasn't utilized in any way.

I liked Quantum

COME AT ME

Why?

Explain

In which way? Box office wise, Craig's movies are the most successful in the whole franchise. Creatively, even if you didn't like them, more will be made by different people which might be more to your liking. Saing that Craig's movies killed the franchise is absolutely fucking retarded.

>the main villian was that closely related to Bond or that he orchestrated everything that happened before wasn't utilized in any way.

I can agree with that.

>Saing that Craig's movies killed the franchise is absolutely fucking retarded.

>QOS dog shit
>Skyfall shit
>Spectre dog shit

He's had the worst run of any Bond

Not him, but I liked it too. I like Bond movies for the setting as weird as it sounds. Didn't like Skyfall so much since I felt like most of it took place in Scotland, which is very dismal and not exotic at all

You forgot:

>Casino Royale mediocre

That is entirely your own opinion that holds no relevance on the success of the series.

It was super long, yet nothing at all happened in it, and you barely got to see Christoph Waltz shine. Like his character was a literally who. I was actually hyped for Batista's character, but of course he can't act so they give him 0 lines. He dies like a loser. The evil Christoph Waltz guy died like a loser too. And that fucking white eye? wtf? seriously? That's like capeshit tier bullshit. The opening song was awful. Tired of the fucking C's and Q's. Tired of that nerd hacker britbong refugee who's literally only there because James Bond is a character who's too stupid, computer-illiterate and incompetent to be a spy in the 21st century.

Generally this movie was so boring and long and literally nothing happened in it. And I literally forgot everything already.

What went right? I guess the Bond girl, because wasn't just a slut this time. Also Ralph Fiennes as M I guess.

>guy shoots helicopter down with PPK pea-shooter
>this is the climax
>I repeat: guy shoots helicopter down with PPK pea-shooter
>I repeat: this is the climax
>I'M NOT KIDDING
>I DIDN'T MAKE THIS UP

Agreed, and TSWLM is the GOAT Bond movie

>The evil Christoph Waltz guy died like a loser too

He didn't die, he was captured for sequel potential.

wrong

The chase sequence in the beginning is GOAT.

The depiction of the CIA in the movie is 100% accurate. very rare for Hollywood movies.

Olga Kurylenko & Gemma Arterton

Overall vibe is good, maybe not very bond like, but good. good pace, nice locations. action scenes are good.

The main villain could have been better I grant you, but is not a maniac and retard like most bond villains of old.

Overall a nice Casino Royale Part II to tie up loose ends.

See, I don't even remember the plot.

this

horrible taste, commit suicide.

The series has gone darker before, but it never lost that feeling of adventure or the humor. Even Licence to Kill has its share of laughs and lighthearted fun

The movies with Daniel Craig are drab, grim and almost humorless. It's James Bond repackaged for the Jason Bourne audience

Maybe someone will come along one day and bring the fun back, but I doubt it will be anytime soon if at all

>The chase sequence in the beginning is GOAT.

Are you joking?

Seriously

The intro/day of the dead scene was great

>The movies with Daniel Craig are drab, grim and almost humorless. It's James Bond repackaged for the Jason Bourne audience

nice meme

whats so horrible about it?

It is though, Craig came out and said that they had to do a darker Bond because Austin Powers ruined it for everyone

Like is he fucking serious?

nothing, people just aren't mentally capable with keeping up with the editing.

There is a cut everyone milli second

It literally makes me feel sick watching it

youtube.com/watch?v=yfYC_CBNtiM

What a wrong with a darker bond? Why do you hate change?

DaD was fucking stupid beyond belief.

Can you not handle a movie with less quips?

I was expecting the first response to be "it's closer to the tone of the books! The books are dark!" as if that somehow justifies turning a 40+ year old film franchise on its head in order to appeal to edgy post-9/11 audiences

>What a wrong with a darker bond?

Have you ever watched a Bond film before Craig?

you are talking to someone who saw hardcore henry in the cinema without walking out sick. It doesn't bother me

I've seen all 24.

Have you read the books? They're all rather dark and serious.

There is humor in Spectre though, Bond cracks some amusing one liners throughout. It's not Marvel grade nonstop quips, grant you, but it's enough to bring levity to the movie.

>Have you read the books? They're all rather dark and serious.

Yes they are, but film Bond and book Bond have ALWAYS been different

Film Bond isn't dark a brooding

>Can you not handle a movie with less quips?
I like serious movies. But if I want a serious spy thriller there are plenty to choose from, it's when I want something adventurous and fun that I put on a Bond movie

>There is humor in Spectre though, Bond cracks some amusing one liners throughout

Yeah it is, in fact out of all 4 of his films its the closest to previous Bond films i tone. But its fucking trash, terrible writing and SHIT tier CGI

Dont forget how they surf on to NK in the beginning, that came off like this youtube.com/watch?v=AlusgU-MUZ4

What's wrong with changing it up?

The films were getting horribly stale and becoming complete rubbish.

Craig's films are trilling and funny. They have a lot of dry British wit.

I dunno, there are way more fun adventure spy flicks now. Just look at Mission Impossible and Man from UNCLE.

Even so there's this grim mood to the film and I just can't stand Craig. Also while I like how Spectre is trying to be more like the classic Bond films, it doesn't really succeed. Also the backlash from fans and critics is likely the death knell for any attempts to make the reboot series less dreary in the near future

>What's wrong with changing it up?

Because we have 40 years of Bond pre Craig that fit a certain tone and the audiences like?

If i want a mono tone killer who barely speaks i'll watch Jason Bourne

For mention i like the Bourner trilogy but i like it for different reasons as to why i like Bond

>audiences like

Because every Bond film was well received, right?
And it's not like there was almost 10 years between the last Brosnan borefest and Casino Royale, which many people consider to be the best in the series.

Spectre would have been ok, maybe even good if they cut out the last act and extended the African base part.

But nooo, with all the money they spent on Ralph Fiennes they just had to go back to London and give him pointless scenes.

And as long as he's M this is going to happen IN EVERY BOND MOVIE from here on out..

Oh and that sequence where Blofeld prints out posters and sets them up in an abandoned building in the middle of London just to mess with Bond is one of the stupidest Ive seen.

>muh expectation

The franchise was getting stale. You want the same stupid rehashes like the Moore movies?

Connery is not the same tone as Moore (Conney was more serious, Moore was stupid and campy)

Dalton was different and darker

Brosnan was more fun

They didn't stay the same tone for 40 years.

Given what is gonna happen in the next movie, I expect it to be even more grimm than the last ones.

>And it's not like there was almost 10 years between the last Brosnan borefest and Casino Royale

DAD came out in 2002 and Casino Royale came out in 2006

It was 4 years pal

>Because every Bond film was well received, right?

No but the Bond series has always suffered from writing quality issues

>No but the Bond series has always suffered from writing quality issues
So what's the problem?

I never said they were exactly the same what i said is they had a similar tone

And they all did

>No but the Bond series has always suffered from writing quality issues

That's why Royale is the best movie in the franchise.

Nothing else is as brilliant as that.

It was also the best book, hands down.

It's never been a case of the audience getting boared with Bond it's always been about the quality of the films

DAD wasn't poorly recieved because people were bored of that tone of Bond, it was because the film was shit

but they all had enough in common that the change feels natural. The reboot films aren't just different, they're practically the opposite of what came before. The only one that even attempts to be like other eras in the franchise is Spectre, and look how well that's been received

License to Kill, the best Bond movie, doesn't even have the same tone as the Living Daylights, let alone the Connery or Moore movies.

40 years and 20 movies isn't enough for your entiltled ass?

There's nothing wrong with a darker bond.

in fact, the franchise has never been more successful than it is right now.

>I have never watched License to kill

Ok lad

Blaim DaD, that movie shat the bed so hard people were turned off from that fun tone.

If you want fun and silly action, go watch Mission Impossible.

Campy Bond overdid it so it can never be that way ever again.

Change was needed.

>40 years and 20 movies isn't enough for your entiltled ass?

No it isn't. If you're going to continue an iconic character done fuck it up

Look at how DC have raped Superman by turning him into an edgy emo lord

It still more-or-less follows the formula, has quips and gags and levity, Q, M, Moneypenny are all there. There are gadgets. There's a feeling of adventure. Everything I want from a Bond movie is in Licence to Kill, I cannot say the same for any of the Craig films

I've watched it literally 12 times.
kys

I get what your saying. But I don't see those movies/that feeling returning, The world has changed, and Bond changed with it.

They didn't fuck it up? Casino Royale and Skyfall have universal critical acclaim.

Even QoS and Spectre weren't bitterly hated.

Just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it's bad. Stop acting so damn entitled.

Batman v Superman was widely hated by fans and critics.

Skyfall was loved by fans and critics alike, and is also the first bond movie to make it to a billion.

Btw, Craig's bond is the most accurate to the books.

I like how random Sup Forums anons try to appear to be the arbiters of quality. You think they fucked up, majority of the audience disagree.

> Everything I want from a Bond movie

So, basically you have "not muh Bond" syndrome then. You don't judge Bond movies on their merits, but based on whatever subjective criteria you have for your own "Bond movie" genre that doesn't really exist.

>Even QoS and Spectre weren't bitterly hated.

They were both trash and you know it

Skayfall is the most overrated Bond by a FUCKING mile

>Craig's bond is the most accurate to the books.

That would be Dalton, Craig is literally a shit tier Dalton

>Everything I want

So you represent the entire fanbase and movie going audience?

Casino Royal is best Bond, if you disagree please die.

>C-Craig is still s-shit!! I swear!

Fuck off.

>shit tier

Only retards ever talk about "tiers".

anyone with taste would agree.

Best movie in the franchise.

>You don't judge Bond movies on their merits, but based on whatever subjective criteria you have for your own "Bond movie" genre that doesn't really exist.
Bond movies really are their own little subgenre actually. And you can't make a film part of a long-running franchise without people comparing it to previous films

If they want me to judge it on its merits they should make it an original film and not a Bond film

>comparing superman to bond
hmmm lets go have a look
>craigbond saved the franchise
>steelsuperman is destroying the franchise
i just looked at how dc shot themselves in the foot. what does this have to do with your argument about iconic characters?
oh! you're teaching by making us do our own hw!
>compare craigbond and darkknightbats
this is what you wanted us to look at right? how you can revamp interest in a dying franchise by getting some good writing, a change in tone, but still capturing enough nostalgia to remind people that said franchise is something worth paying attention to?
good on you user. you are truly a worthy teacher

My Nigga

No, did I ever say that?

>Eva Green
>based Mads

Literally "Sup Forums: The Bond Movie"

ITT: people who hate innovation

>muh legacy

Lmao

wow this was almost an argument

not even top 15

Literally outclasses everything else.

1. Casino Royale
2. Licence To Kill
3. Goldfinger
4. GoldenEye

Me too. I miss having a laugh thrown in every now and again.

You are too short for this ride

Skyfall and Spectre are garbage.

Go find the archive. I hate writing a deconstruction on why Spectre and Skyfall are utter dogshit to plebs for the fucking 100th time.

Seriously, go to the fucking archive.

Fuck off pleb, Skyfall is visual brilliance.

Nobody cares about your autism, m8.

So I'm the only one who liked Spectre?

Nah, there's two of us.
