Books that deserve series

Books that deserve series

Ripoff of Erikson but Id watch it.

What?

Anyway, contributing with the Amber saga by Rodger Zelazny

Books that deserve animated series goes to Fafhrd and The Grey Mouser.

What?

Merlin saga would make a great TV series, Corwin should stay in books.

>darkness wars with darkness

wut

Its a story where the bad guys fight the worse guys

This was like a breath of fresh air after reading The Way of Kings. I haven't finished Black Company yet but I love Croaker.

That's not the baffling part of the cover

That guy's last name is Gook lmao

What's the first book in the series? I was gonna start it

Don't humor him. He doesn't read.

It's the one posted in op's image. Just buy the collection of the first three, they're not incredibly long books.

Whats you're problem dude?

like suicide squad?

We sum

...

Don't get pissy with me because you don't recognize books pleb.

This is the sort of thread that people who enjoy Glen Cook books make.

What an asshole. Why aren't you shitting up /lit/?

Yeah, except if it where in Middle Earth and written by a Vietnam war vet. Someone asked him why he thinks the military consider it a small cult classic.

"The characters act like the guys actually behave. It doesn't glorify war; it's just people getting on with the job. The characters are real soldiers. They're not soldiers as imagined by people who've never been in the service. That's why service guys like it."
- Glen Cook

Why don't you read?

>muh authenticity

no wonder the fans are so conceited. fuck this thread.

Tolkien was a fucking war vet and wrote his stories in the god damned trenches. This sort of assumption is colossally offensive.

I never implicated that Tolkien was some sort of pussy, where did you get that from? I like his stuff too lady, calm down.

I didnt know this book was so controversial, I just thought it would make a good show....

Why don't you just shut the fuck up and let the thread develop

Its not, your just on the wrong site for proper discussion.

People like this book for the same reason they enjoy the Starship Troopers novel.

Starship Troopers and This book would make great fantasy military-procedural shows.

*raises a paw*

I'm an unbiased third party observer that noticed you two arguing. I just want to thank both of you, I'm smiling. Your encounter is entertaining

Am late but this shit is so good

>good
>with those covers

top kek

Don't judge a book by it's cover now Sonny

Fuck is this ninja assassins creed?

With magic

These might be cooler in film though

I agree. The books of the north would be interesting.

Nice bait m8. Erikson was heavily influenced by Cook.

>no one mentioned Malazan yet
thank god, then I don't have to talk about it. jk rofl
>enjoyed it until book 7
>realised it's hamfisted environmentalist anti-civilization propaganda
>with giant dick, distension and bbw fetishes '''subtly''' incorporated into the story
I'll still finish it I'm sure but I'm still pissed off.

Malazan is mentioned in the first reply, but as a Malazan fan I guess you aren't a fan of reading.

t-they mentioned Erikson not his novels..

tfw u will never become a space-time god to make your power-hungry waifu happy ;_;

>The Black Company

They'd make Croaker a black man and the Lady a nubile white girl and you fucking know it.

What are you going on about? You've already read 7 of the books, just read Crippled God and your shit will be diamonds.

not really, there are plenty of prominent black characters in the book

the cast is actually very diverse

...

Technically, Lady is supposed to sort of nubile.
Anyway, cast your Black Company.

...

The Joe Pitt Casebooks

Clicked on the thread to post this.

>900 pages in
Getting sick of Kal's gay ass flashbacks and Shallan's fucking quips.

No Chromia gets way to confusing, any tv show would be an utter clusterfuck, better off with his first trilogy if ur going to make a Weeks tv show

Why would anyone mention it? It would be nearly impossible to adapt to a screen without completely butchering the whole world and lore

protip: cast Hiddleston as Elric

WoR is really gonna piss you off then

lmao is that dorne?

it would sorta work in show format I think. There's a lot of fat you can trim in my opinion. It's kind of edgy though so you're right.

Viggo as croaker

good luck with the other two books though

Would any producers even dare?

...

Already happening and no I don't mean that 'pilot' with Billy Zane

I just wanna see some cool Luxin fight scenes man

arent they already making this a TV show

what is this about? its already being done evidently

Holy shit, just imagine those battle scenes.

Yea never going to happen that's some confusing shit Weeks invented, besides if u want 'cool fights' Night angel trilogy is better for that anyway

It's a series on high fantasy novels that goes on for 14 books.

With a GOT budget and a competent director it could be goat

Yes we know, the tv show is already being done, but thanks for contribbutin

>confusing
it's literally color coded for simpletons, user

It's perfect in this social justice climate. Half of the books are just women being bitchy and criticizing the male gender. The other half is braid-tugging.

stupid

could never be adapted in any decent way

>wet boys
with some minor revisions, could work

No it couldn't where do you start? Where do you end? Who's the MC? Either you haven't read it or your dillusional it would never work as TV or a movie doesn't matter how much cash u throw at it

you know it
>each story done by different director and in different style
>Brawne's story is black and white neo-noir with voiceover
>Kassad's is high framerate shaky cam Bourne-style
>priest's is long cut biblical epic style taking cues from the likes of Ben Hur
it would be baller if done right
all you gotta do is forget the second book exists

You're in luck. The sequel is pretty much entirely Shallan's flashbacks and with even more quips.

500 pages in
When does this book start?

this would be brilliant as a series

I know and the way it interactes with each other with combining colours, various strengths, breaking the halo etc. etc, it takes time getting your head around it when your reading it, can you imagine trying to explain this shit in a show? It would confuse the fuck out of Hawkings

>implying SJWs won't complain about Rand quickly becoming better at magic than all the women and claiming 3 waifus

Book 2 your reading the longest prologue ever written

>Moist men
Is this better?

The Expanse series literally steals the ideas of this holy shit I just realized

First law series would be so perfect for a series, bretty gud for movies

Perfect amount of magic to keep viewers interested but not put off and plenty of amazing characters that any demographic will fall in love at some point.

Really good plot/story as well.

Glokta would be such fuckign oscar bait

i keep reading it because everyone says the last third is great .is it true?

Not even close, user. They both take place, partly, in space. There, the similarities end.

I posted earlier. I'm about 900pg in and waiting for the same thing

On the one hand the story and visuals would be fucking amazing on their own. On the other, you instantly lose some of the coolest stuff just by being in a visual medium.

Have you read any other Sanderson? The structure is predictable af if you have,

Yes it gets better kinda

They can't complain about the polygamy, they might offend Muslims.

soggy swordsmen

Drenched duelers

muggy murderers
soaked slayers

dank assassins

Try his Instrumentalities of the Night series.
Better writing, better plotting.
Also try The Dragon Never Sleeps.

This 100%

Slippery slaughterer
Damp dropper
Waterlogged eliminator

Juicy Jacker

liquid liquidators

no i havent first sanserson book but saw lots of good review so started reading ti
i still dont know where this book is heading

probably one of the only fantasy shit worth reading.

malazanfags need to keep their shitty role playing campaign to themselves.

everything happens in the last 4th, everything else is a lot of world-building and build up for the end, like all sanderson books, some keep you relatively entertained up to the climax, some don't, their all trash, but entertaining trash.

Dresden Files (done properly this time).

I'm pretty confident they'd ruin it though and just turn it into a memey quipfest.

I think Dresden Files would be great if it was animated. Something in the style of the batman cartoons would be fun.
