Day five of the 2017 PDC World Darts Championship from Alexandra Palace sees two-time back-to-back champion Adrian Lewis start his quest for a third title.
Before that, there is the matter of a very interesting preliminary round match between China's Qiang Sun and Australia's Corey Cadby, the current World Youth Champion. Sun last year became one of the more memorable international qualifiers ias he managed to bust 133 and hit the board surround; Cadby, on the other hand, is an entirely different prospect. The 21 year old has demonstrated both ability and classic Aussie sporting arrogance over the past year, including a defeat of Phil Taylor in the Sydney Darts Masters.
Next is a first round match is between two people who would ideally both be disqualified and replaced with someone more likeable as constant moaner Mervyn King plays Scumbag Brother Steve West. West has never won a Worlds match before, this being his sixth attempt and first in the PDC, but a good run of form this year, including his World GP defeat of Taylor, could see him advance at the expense of King, whose Matchplay QF against Pheel has been his highlight in an otherwise poor 2016.
Lewis then graces the stage against Sweden's emotionless David Lynch wannabe Magnus Caris. Since being defeated by Michael van Gerwen in Blackpool, Aidey has been distracted by P&O ferry exhibitions, resulting in him missing the European Championship for the first time and not actually bothering to compete in majors, resulting in early eliminations from the last three he played. Despite this, Caris is shite and shouldn't be a problem for the Stokie.
Closing the night is the eternal "future world champion" Joe Cullen against the prelim qualifier. The Rockstar will be aiming to finally break his Ally Pally duck at the seventh attempt, his first as a seed; if he gets Cadby though, there's a high chance he'll be an embarrassing 0 for 7.

Cadby matches will be interesting. I have no doubt that he will win the prelim, and he has the potential to beat Cullen afterwards. Maybe we will watch the first matches of what will be the start of a promising carreer. It's a shame he is such a cunt, but well, at least he will provide entertainment.
Kinda glad that there won't be a double session the next fex days. I have to admit it was exhausting at the end.
