every other fucking company is doing it, so Alfa has to, too, apparently.
I wish SUVs were banned. I'm outlawing them completely if I ever come to power. There's absolutely no reason why anybody needs to drive around a city in a massively oversized land barge.

That is because Grand Prix racing could fucking kill you if you stayed too long, the drivers died or fucking retired early. Max can literally spend the next 25 years trying to beat Schumacher in racing for a team who always delivers good cars, our only hope is Ricciardo outdriving him

Prost came the closest to Fangio from ~200 GPs, of course he finished with the most points in 1988 but even drivers like de Cesaris managed long careers before Schumacher won his 'hips. 25 years of F1 at ~20 races annually adds up to 500 GP entries, so yeah I guess it's possible. But I'd say it's unlikely.
Very specific combined factors lead to success (reading Ross Brawn + Adam Parr's book atm), just look at Ferrari. They won 9 'hips in 30 years but just imagine the turnover in personnel, change in the sport etc. I'd be curious whether there's some lifer engine mechanic in Maranello who is the most successful person in F1 in terms of titles won.

well, remember the only reason he's at Red Bull is they offered him a drive immediately in Toro Rosso and Mercedes only had a seat in their Junior program. so depending on the relative competitiveness next season the Verstappens might regret exchanging one Red Bull GP win for a chance at the WDC with Mercedes under the new regs.

I mean its the BBC so I guess it's legitimate, a lot of those confirmations are seemingly coming out of nowhere though. I don't not believe it but its just the first i've seen it being talked about not as a rumor.
Interesting information in that article is this
>Mercedes executive director (technical) Paddy Lowe will join Williams to run their team following the departure of their chief technical officer Pat Symonds, which was announced on Tuesday.
>Mercedes will replace Lowe with former Ferrari technical director James Allison. The 48-year-old is on 'gardening leave' from the Italian team but will be free to join Mercedes in the late spring or early summer of 2017.
So I guess that explains some things I posted in the previous thread. Lowe is seemingly moving from technical director to.. basically Team Principal? At least the technical side of it, so I guess that's his new level of control. Allison joining Merc is the first I've heard of it, but I guess its what's going to happen now.
I'm wondering how the development of new cars go with the changing of technical directors and key personnel. Like do you want to give Mercedes your 100% when you know you're leaving at the end of the year? How do you ensure continuity of vision and whatnot as well.

The engine will almost certainly still be #1, so I'm not too worried. The biggest threats are Red Bull and Ferrari. Ferrari will be Ferrari and Red Bull allegedly went for some radical lengthened chassis design, which I suspect will be good for aerodynamics but ultimately a let down as the car does not maneuver as well as the rest of the grid. It'll be the forward-blown diffuser of this era, good on paper but too much work for a real improvement, especially with limited testing to fix the kinks.
He'll net a few fine wins but will have to work his ass off if he really wants fo hallenge Hamilton.

I wonder how will Claire cope with Bottas moving to Mercedes to get pegged by Susie? How will it affect their season at Williams? Will she lash out live on TV because Susie keeps flaunting the key to Valtteri's cock cage? Will she try to seduce Toto to get back at Susie?
She needs to sign some alpha AF guy as a reserve driver, otherwise she will have no one to fuck her and keep her satisfied.

Thoughts on Motorsport Manager?
It looks alright, but a lot of people seem to be complaining about some blue flag problem, aswell as a the cars being too unreliable and having to repair gearboxes and stuff mid-race which isn't done in real F1.
>Are those complaints legit? >Would it still be worth it if these things are true? >Are there mods/upcoming updates to fix these issues?

I don't want Massa to become another Barrichello. His retirement moment was great and he went out "in his own terms" (or at least it appeared to be so).
Returning now reeks of desperation and will likely end up worse for him at the end of the season, when he is beaten by a fucking rookie and is kicked out of F1 unceremoniously.
Just give the seat to Nasr instead. We get a Brazilian who has a link to Williams from his test-drive in 2014 and is old enough to do marketing for Martini.
Noah Wilson
>Nasr
Not old enough. He's 24, needs to be 25. And he's not experienced enough for (((Stroll)))
With Massa to Williams:
>Martini gets old/marketable enough driver CHECK >Williams doesn't have to start the new regulations with two new drivers=stability to the team CHECK >Stroll gets an experienced, race winning teammate to copy car setups, gear shifts and braking points from CHECK >Bottas gets to go to Mercedes and finally win a race (only Irvine, Alesi, Boutsen, Mika, Fisichella, Rosberg 2.0, Button, Trulli, Barrichello and Webber took longer than 77 races) CHECK >Mercedes get a 1:1 replacement for Rosberg (but faster and less emotional) CHECK >Massa gets one more season in F1 and a 1,5 million dollar raise from 2016 CHECK >Princess Pascal gets shipped off to Blancpain GT Series KEK
Everyone wins.

When will F1 drivers go back to simple helmet designs that a child can draw from memory?
The only non-nigger-tier designs in 2016 were Bottas, Palmer, Nasr and Rosberg.
Christian Rivera
He clearly is going for full Rubens mode
You can interpret it whichever way you want but the reality is that his contract was not being renewed and they were going to have another driver driving his car in 2017. He made this into a retirement announcement, which is fine. It happens all the time and its great to be able to "retire" instead of being forced out, searching for a seat and then never coming back.
It's a bit sad because his send off was perfect and his supposed final season came at the point where you could see it was time for him to go, it was clear he wasn't driving as well as he could have in the past, and it was just clearly the right moment to go (really would have been after 2015 but whatever).
Now he's coming back after having mentally checked out already, with half the pay he got previously in a manner that is so clearly just a grasp to fill the seat because Williams don't want 2 rookies. The fact that you can bait a veteran driver out of "retirement" so easily is just too telling.
What's next season gonna be then? Massa somehow reinvents himself or its going to be 2016 except with more spins and more struggles, getting beaten by Stroll for good measure
Anthony Reed
...
Carter Gray
And >half the pay he got previously

Would it actually be possible for Wehrlein to not get a drive in F1 for 2017? I mean that would be hilarious. I don't think they would throw him in some shitty GT series or back to DTM, probably just make him a Merc "reserve additional third important simulator testing and computer games driver" and have him race against Hamilton's and Rosberg's old sim ghosts for a year straight.
I would take him over eternal Guti if it came down to it, but Wehrlein could fuck off if it opened up a drive for Ferrari to buy Giovinazzi at Sauber.

Dont need to repair shit if you dont go full retard on overtake engine mode in the first couple races. Also most of the time you can limp the couple of last laps home if you have troubles.
