I work at an emergency animal hospital, ask me whatever you want.

Hows it going?

I'm alright, debating what to watch on Netflix. Any recommendations for a comedy? And yourself?

Have you ever had to remove an animal from an anus?

How many good boys?

This cat is going well?

what is your job title?
what's the worst you've seen?
how long have you been working there?
ever had a nightmare from seeing some fucked up shit?
ever done naughty things with an animal?

It's funny you say that, before I worked at an animal ER I worked for a people hospital and once received a patient whom stuck a dead snake in his anus... So pretty close?

All the boys are G O O D B O Y S

Yeah the client "didn't realize the kitten was missing a leg". It was already healing over so we loaded her on antibiotics and cleaned out the eye socket and it's a healthy little zombie kitty.

>Yeah the client "didn't realize the kitten was missing a leg"
I can imagine alot of clients how shouldn't have any animal...
So, seeing such a thing every day, do u lose the afection for the animals or do u get more?
Also, are u a vet? Why?

Thank you for helping that kitty.

How's that kitty doin?

tell me one of your best experiences and worst experiences

mY doge died. can i sue?

he shit blood so i took him to a vet.
vet ended up giving him 4 physical exams and a bunch of pills over the course of a month.
got worse.
took doge to another vet.
dog had a blockage, needed immediate surgery.

died due to bowel telescoping.
waited too long for surgery.
$3000 in bills.

i want the kitty. i will name it Zombie

how often do you fuck the animals when they die?

My official job title is "Critical Care Veterinary Technician"
Not much phases me, but I did have a dog a few weeks ago who got attacked by its housemate, a laceration that was 7 inches deep, and I could fit my arm inside the actual wound. Both her hind limbs were like Swiss cheese from being chewed on. Pic related of said hole
I've been at my current hospital for 10-11 months.
No nightmares, I'm not squeamish.
No... Can't say I have.

Exactly, so many clients I want to slap across the face for being so ignorant, lol. I actually gain more affection for them, seeing just how intelligent animals are and can experience emotions. I'm finishing up my degree but am a technician right now.

Of course, I actually love my job and being able to make such a difference.

Healthy and alive!!

Best, probably a cat who was ago all on presentation (basically dead when it arrived) and after 45 minutes of CPR and pushing medications, stabilizing the patient, and over the next two days I was able to get it healthy and stable enough to go home!
Worst would probably be going to emergency surgery on a gastric dilation-volvulus (basically the stomach turns and knots) and hospitalizing for three days, and the dog still didn't make it after fighting so hard :(

Yikes... So it sounds like the vet treated him symptomatically for hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, and never thought to take X-rays. Bowel telescoping (intussusception) is very bad and the tissue can die off quickly. If the dr never took X-rays or pursued other options of treatment then that is very poor medicine practice. I'm so sorry for your loss.

The clients actually did!! Lol

thanks :(

I miss my chinchilla make me feel better by posting nudes

Seems like a dumb question, but do you have any pets and if so mind sharing a photo?

What is your bra size?

...

Do you work nights or days?

You did everything you could for your pupper. Have any pics of him you'd like to share?

Of myself or of a woman lol

I have two dogs, one little dachshund and one half retarded Staffie/Pit (he's albino and deaf) Biscuit pictured, trying to find a pic of Beans.
Probably an A cup because I am male lol.

How is the pay for a Critical Care Veterinary Technician? How long is the schooling for it compared to a regular veterinary technician?

lol ahhh, assumed most veterinary techs were women, my bad.

Have many qt co-workers?

Guy eh.. post nudes ayyy lmao

Geese will fuck you up for real, lol.

Both unfortunately. I work Saturday-Sunday morning shifts (8a-8p) and Monday overnight (6p-8a)

My pay is decent, the average CCVT assistant in Texas is 11$/hr starting, and CCVT starting is 16$/hr starting. I know some who make 25$/hr and then specialists make 30+.
Schooling is generally an associates degree (2 year college) but I had a lot of prior emergency+animal control experience so I got hired just based off that and have done extra training hands on.

Lol you're good, it's like a 99% women dominated field. So I am the 1%. PLUS I'm a minority which is even rarer so I'm like .05%.
Yeah there are surprisingly a lot of gorgeous women, and one of the docs I work with is fucking 10/10 but I'm in a committed relationship...

so good place to pick up women, or most of them already taken?

Chekked.
10 and 12 hour days sound rough.
Do you get enough coffee breaks and shit, or does time fly by?

Did she make it?

You ever fuck animals?

is the night shift pretty slow, or busy?

I have a half doberman, half GSD that is two years old. I have never expressed her anal gland. Is that something I need to do, or will she be fine on her own?

Do you ever keep sob stories?
Here's Willeaux - my vettech wife saved her from being put down because some sick fuck stuck a needle in her eye and it got infected.

Pretty good place actually since most of us cope by having a fucked up sense of humor. So if that's what you like then they're perfect. Plus a lot are future vets so they're intelligent and shit.
I actually have had clients try to make a move on me for either helping save their animal or to try to get a discount lol.

Well 12 and 14 technically. But yeah they suck sometimes. Yeah there's down time to get coffee, and we see so many cases that time flies pretty quickly. Plus three day work weeks are the best

Yep!! We had to go to surgery for some of the wounds and it was a long uphill battle. Client spent 6 grand on her, and she is going in for daily bandage replacements. But very alive and well.

;)

It's honestly luck of the draw. Some nights between myself, one doctor, and one other tech we see upwards of 20 cases. Some nights we see like 3 and only one hospitalized overnight. Very random.

Larger dogs usually express it themselves if you ever see them scoot on the ground dragging their butts and then get that fishy smell. If they can't express it themselves they can have difficulty pooping but you should be okay if they aren't puppies and have lived long enough without any problems so far.

We euthanize quite a bit on the weekends so those clients are never forgettable, especially the ones where it was the wife's dog/cat but she died and it was the last thing the husband had to remember her by but then has to be put down. It sucks.

Oh wow!! Yeah people are fucked up... I worked on tons of cruelty cases as an animal control officer. I'm so glad y'all took her in, she's beautiful! How long have y'all had her?

Thanks for the info. My doggo, Embla. Dobie/GSD

Do you want to do this long term, or do you have other career goals?

I think I broke my doge, can you fix him ?

That's fucked up man...

We've had her for about 13 months and she was maybe 3 or 4 weeks when we got her, if memory serves.

My wife has worked at the hospital for about 18-19 months. In that time weve fostered 21 animals.
We're currently fostering a corgi, a terrier, a pitt, and a cat - all from the clinic.

what do you do on the slow nights, study, watch t.v.?

I recommend using some scotch tape
That will help

ever come accross a pet that appeared to have been trained to do bestiality?

Anytime, she's a good looking dog! Bet she's spoiled!!

I actually plan on going to physical therapy school after I finish my bachelors in Biology next year. I just love working emergency.

tape

adorable! I'm jealous... How do you like constantly having new pets?

Study for school. Run through scenarios with coworker, Netflix.

A few

Do you like my doggy?

New pets constantly are hell, chiefly because we usually have to potty train them ourselves. Last Xmas we ended up with a Chihuahua and her 5 (!) puppies.

Also, is it just us or is it common to need to remove an animal's eye?

(You)
A few

are they bought in by men or women typically?

Ever report the owners to the police?

what breed of dog would you reccomend to someone who wanted a smart, low to no more than medium maintenance dog, with short hair that doesn't shed a lot?

mini schnauzer

Here's a kitten my wife brought home last summer that someone found in the street, riddled with fleas and anemic. It was 105° outside but he was ice cold. She was trying to warm him in her bra when he died. I gave him CPR and mouth-to-mouth, he came back for a minute before he died again. I did that 5 times before my wife forced me to stop.
I took a picture to make sure I never forget him.
To this day it haunts me. He was so cold.

ever saved any dead ones for barbecue?

>ask me whatever you want.
how do you get semen stains out of velcro?

Why do so many women working in vet hospitals have fukt up lives? My mom managed a hospital and it sounded like half the boyfriends were in prison.. wtf?

Not a vet here, just another user, but I'll take this one:

Get a mutt. Look for the hair type you like. The low maintainence you are thinking about involves work from you - training the doggo.

Real low maintenance is when doggo has good genes and no genetic bull that starts acting up later in life (low vet bills and vet visits).

pic related, my Taiwan mutto doggo

trying to fix broken people?

How many lives have you saved in the past week?

How many lives have you ended in the past week?

can dogs be vegan?

Looks like a fine doggo. Mutts have always been the best dogs that I have had

Not op
You tried your best. I feel your pain.
RIP.

Are you able to tell if a dog fucks the owner or is being fucked?

Do you get requests for dog vasectomies or tube ties for a dog instead of spay/neuters?

ty

can be but shouldn't be. thats a special kind of cruelty like declawing cats

What are you saying, removing their finger-bones is totally humane. (spoken sarcastically)

You're a good user.

Why do you fucking niggers NEVER have anyone for avians?

I have literally never found anyone who knew a single fucking thing about birds in your places and it absolutely fucking enrages me. We aren't talking about monitor lizards here, birds are the third most common pet in most countries, the FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU, GET SOME AVIAN EXPERTS HOLY SHIT IM FUCKING ANGRY.

What do you mean user, I like birds.

What do you think of Beagles for a pet, OP?

Emergency vet places and regular vet places almost never have anyone working there that knows shit about how to treat birds.

Yeah, I feel ya. I bred lovebirds and parrotlets for nearly 10 years. I took a few of my birds to various vets that said they had avian specialists, but they knew less about birds than I did.

>No... Can't say I have.
She can't say. *Winks*

I have a beagle jack russel mix and she is the very smart, sweet and happy
