What are the rules? Surely there are to be limitations such as no firearms for sure, but what else isn't allowed?
As far as I remember projectiles, fire, nets and being too big to go in the pit aren't allowed. Otherwise its fair game.
Has anyone made an extremely flat robot that gets under its opponent then springs it out of the arena?
That's basically how most flippers work
>using google ever again
One of this weeks competitors Storm 2, was one of the shortest robots and tried to do that but Apollo the big white one was too strong.
Apollo flipped 3 house robots this week which have no weight restriction unlike the competitors and usually fuck everybody's shit up. Shut is the house robot upside down in the pic.
Usually the winners have one of the following:
>Very powerful drive motor
>Very powerful flipper
>Very fast spinning disk
>Extremely skilled driver that tricks everyone
I wish I had a self righting mechanism
>no weight restriction
wot? so basically you put a machine with massive weights so it can't be moved and hammer down the competition with a massive hammer then.
I guess that fits this description:
>Very powerful drive motor
I want to fuck Sarah Willingham.
You and me both
>>no weight restriction
>wot?
thats for the 'house robots' not the competitors
Why are most flippers so shit?
Apollo may be our guy, but robots like Foxic are pure memebots.
Foxic is a lifter/rammer, not a flipper
>rammer
Foxic was designed and driven by an arsehole so what did you expect.
Its a shame there isnt sgt Bash as a house robot or maybe he is kept for the finals
Who's gonna get the Wildcard from what we've seen so far?
Thor or Storm 2?
bbc.co.uk
So we're in agreement that if Shockwave got to the final, Thor, who made total mincemeat out of it, should be the wildcard #6?
I mean if they basically want the most boring fights, they'll pick Storm 2.
But because Storm 2 was twenty-thousand poundereedoos, they'll probably bring it back just to stop the creators of it from killing themselves.
>razer the house robot killer was built for not even a quarter of that
Where the fuck is hypnodisc
>Thor
Any reason he didn't use that sick looking pick-axe he was holding in the behind the scenes footage?
>110 kg
>has the ability to pull a car with both team members sitting in it
wtf are its wheels made of? Did I miss something about the rules of friction?
>thanks to the dumb as fuck rules the strongest machines are doorstoppers with wheels
why do you people watch this show
Didn't they say it was based on points?
In which case Thor sits with a 8 out of 9 iirc
Maybe put it over the weight limit.
