I think you meant to say Husker Du and post this record, didn't you. OP?

>he doesn't even post the best Twin Cities band of the 80s

That's cute.

I believe you misspelled Night Ranger

Van Halen is the only correct answer. They ruled the '80s.

WHAT THE FUCK IS EVEN THE POINT OF THESE THREADS YOU STUPID ASSHOLE SYOU'RE JUST NAMING SHIT YOU LIKE TRYING TO ONE UP EACH OTHER GO SUCK A GODDAMN DICK HOLY SHIT IT'S NOT EVEN CLEVER OR ENOUGH OF A FOUNDATION TO HAVE ANY KIND OF FUCKING THREAD ABOUT ANY SUBJECT

Your taste is so plebeian you may as well be championing Loverboy.

That keeps it wide open for discussion and better yet, gives you an opportunity to screech autistically

>he doesn't know their best album came out in the 70s

Not even the best husker du album

80's bands are mostly plebian in all honestly. Night Ranger is my favorite 80's band but the 70's was superior in every way.

Prince
Def Leppard
Metallica
REM
Blondie
THE MOTHERFUCKING POLICE

first day on Sup Forums, huh?

>he thinks The Police are American

REM is pretty fucking good, but there are also bands such as:

Sonic Youth
Minutemen
Husker Du
Swans
New Order
MBV
Meat Puppets
Dinosaur Jr
Talk Talk
Beat Happening

that I believe are better than REM

>Night Ranger is my favorite 80's band

>tfw R.E.M. is so good Pavement wrote a whole song about them

youtube.com/watch?v=0DvVYwXqFEE

WHY IS NO ONE MENTIONING SLINT

They only had one good album and that came out in '91 you dolt.

Styx is the greatest American rock band and the only reason the critics never say so is because they're all cynical assholes

>Doesn't even post the best Replacements' album
That's adorable.

You might've gotten dubs but you're wrong.

Just so I can laugh at your post, please tell me what YOU think Husker Du's best album was?

DON'T GO BACK TO ROCKVIIIIILLLEEE

it's zen arcade you cunt

Styx is the most unoriginal third rate derivative piece of shit I've ever had to suffer through.

There was nothing original or innovative about them.

They just ripped off everybody who did that kind of crap 1000x better and got upset when that fact was pointed out to them to their face.

Styx suck and make many people ashamed to admit that they live in Illinois!

Now Cheap Trick on the other hand is the patrician's choice!

Yeah, I know this album and the first four albums which are their best were released in the 70s but they did a lot of great stuff in the 80s too. (But I'm from Rockford and a die hard Cheap Trick fan so maybe I'm biased)

Singles band

No it's not.

Zen Arcade is an overindulgent two record set and only side two is decent. The rest of the album is shit, especially side four.

Fuck, I'd rather listen to American Idiot by Green Day over Zen Arcade!

No talking heads?

Consider the fact that they were a band for over five years before spiderland

>best band of the 80s
>doesn't mention motley crue

fucking fag

Shit taste, the most of you. The correct answer is X. First album released in 1980; first 4 albums are all classics.

pleb

They're second after Pixies

Read his post again, dummy.

I can tolerate this opinion.

That's not Fair Warning

How are they second after Pixies?

>R.E.M.
At least 5 great 80s albums, counting Chronic Town.

>Pixies
Only three 80s albums, counting Come on Pilgrim

Sonic Youth obviously. Six 8+/10s and one of those is the second best album of all time

Dont you mean Brand X? Even if their best album was released in 1978, they are quintessentially a predecessor to the 80s.

>New Order
>Talk Talk
>American

Pavement sucks.

You're grounded for life buster!

youtube.com/watch?v=e2Nsy4h8rD4

Stop breathing.

New Day Rising you plebs
Tim

Objectively, Replacements > Husker Du
Styx were fine and Crystal Ball and Grand Illusion are massively underrated

SY only put out two good albums, and both of them sounded almost exactly the same- Sister and DN.

The only bands that come close are New Order and Talk Talk, neither of which are American.

Pixies hardly even count as an 80s band. They existed only in the tail end of that decade and their impact was almost completely on the 90s.

OP is correct. R.E.M. were perfect all the way through the 1980s. Murmur, Reckoning, and Document are all 10/10.

Thats highly debatable.

There can be only one.

>or Def Leppard for that matter

Implying Metallica are rock....

Kill youself

Motley Crue are fucking awful, shitty ass band that chugs ice tea in a JD bottle.

>Talking Heads
>Sonic Youth
>Hüsker Dü
>REM
>Guns N' Roses
