I always support my local team because if they do well, its good for my city. I work for a distribution company that sells food and beverage. When the local sports teams do well and get into the playoffs, its great for us. The deeper into the playoffs they go, the more money we make.
That's actually the only tangible purpose of absorbing the cost of supporting a local sports franchise. To make money off them when they do well.
So I'm fine with bandwagon fans. They travel into my city and spend money when our local team is doing well. The more money they spend, the more I love them.
