>A lot of the time "putting your foot down" dad style only leads to increased rebellion and is the cause of many runaway girls with daddy issues and drug habits.
There is only so much you can do as a father, but weakness is ultimately weakness.
Social apathy is a disease worse than addiction, or AIDS. It's the root of all problems, higher than money itself.
IF princess wants to live life to the fullest by disregarding the 'rules' try to teach her. so she can party like everyday is a Pepsi commercial with celebrity endorsements....then those trials are up to her.
The real question is, what you do to help her recover? See her at 18 years old, standing on your door-step with 4 babies of mixed races and no father in site. Her beauty all but gone, ragged because is barely makes enough being a Wal-Mart cashier to support herself and her kids (one of whom has FAS, and the other is so far on the autism scale they don't know their own name).
...and here you are, who did their best to help and teach their kids, and you're in retirement planning trips around the world on a pension you worked your ass for. Going to Mexico, Bali, Spain, Ibiza, Italy....You're just waiting for the bar-stools you ordered for your own personal bar and pool room in the basement before jump on the plane to 'anywhere'.
but nope, no basement bar for you, no trips, you have to convert that basement into a suite for your welfare'd daughter and her trick babies. ....or do you....
That's the real question,....can you throw up you hand in time of need and say "I told you so. You wanted to be an adult early in life, and this is what you got, why should I help?"
