Agreed completely.
The thing that made this suck was the stupid 80s sounding production, but under all of that, the songwriting was still top notch. Every single song on this album would have been amazing if it were recorded in the same way as their fist two albums. They should have never gotten away from that in the first place. The Strokes need Gordon Raphael producing them.

I can only consider 2 of their songs thats beyond great. Its definitly on par with Bankrupt! to me, but Bankrupt! has that swift transition between Drakkar Noir and Chloroform. But I do agree with you somewhat.
