That's a good question. It's hard to tell with street quality G. You could try purchasing some, then take 1mL and pour it on a dish and apply heat to dry up the water. Then you could weigh the remaining solid mass after the water is evaporated - if it less than half a gram then it would be considered shitty quality. 0.7-0.8g would be conisdered good and 1g will probably never happen by the time it gets to you.
Another option is purchasing its percursor GBL. It can be sourced out of China very cheap (though because it isn't BASF quality, some people say there is unreacted material in the Chinese quality). I have purchased 500mL from Hong Kong for a total of 150USD, 60USD of that was shipping costs. You could use 500mL to synth 1L of GHB fairly easy at around 1g/mL potency.
This would by far be the cheapest route but you carry the risk of it getting caught at the border. You would certainly not want to get caught with anything more than 500mL at the border, that would definitely set in stone some kind of seizure. You would also be much safer to order 100mL or 250mL to even better control the chances of a seizure.

This stuff is hard to find. People don't advertise their love for GHB because of the stigma attached to it for being a supposed date rape drug.
Also, because it is a prominent rave scene drug, if you know anyone into that scene try tossing out a feeler. Even if they don't partake they may well know someone who does.

I found this text which explains the whole cook process a lot better than I would be able to here. In short it requires using Sodium Hydroxide or Sodium Bicarbonate to convert GBL to GHB. Yep, that's basically it, with some heat applied. This turns the GBL from lactone to a salt.

You can then leave the GHB in the aqueous mixture, or boil it off to leave the solid behind. Keep in mind GHB is naturally very hygroscopic, and will attempt to suck moisture out of the air so you will have a hard time keeping it completely dried.
Converting GBL to GHB is probably the best way to get quality GHB with a strong potency. Otherwise you rely on the street chemists.

I never tried Renewtrient but from what I've read they contained GBL, the percursor i was talking about in posts and I can also talk your ear off about GBL. GBL readily converts to GHB in vivo through hydrolysis (and does not leave toxic metabolites).
GBL is comparable to Crack if GHB is comparable to cocaine. Blood plasma levels of GHB skyrocket with GBL use as it is less polar than GHB and crosses the gut wall easily - its probably the most euphoric drug I've ever had the pleasure of trying.
It is also the hardest to dose - the difference between 1.5mL and 1.8mL is huge and could mean the difference between a good buzz and a knockout dose.
True story, there was a time i was abusing the shit out of GBL. My GF would be out at work and i'd go to town all day. Well I suppose I should start with GBL. Given it has a quicker and stronger plasma peak level of GHB when compared to the same dosage of GHB in salt form, it evokes a harsher withdrawal.
It is entirely possible to get minor withdrawal effects from using GBL 24 hours a day for 3 hours. This includes taking dosages to knock yourself out once or twice throughout the night. Symptoms include anxiety, restlessness, tachycardia.
GBL, or GHB by extension, works primarily on two receptor sites. Gaba-B (Same selectivity as benzodiazepines) and the GHB receptor sites. It was once theorized these WD effects were due to a 'Dopamine Rebound Effect', but it is now thought that it happens due to the following.
Up to a certain dose threshold, GHB is selective to GHB receptor sites. When more is taken, it starts hitting your gaba-b receptors which causes its downer effects. After prolonged use, the gaba-b receptor sites start upregulating (this is responsible for the 'sudden wake' anomoly after a GHB induced sleep or as some like to call it coma).
As Gaba-B is upregulating the GHB receptor site which causes stimulation is still active which increases the anxiety and other physical symptoms.

It is important to note that after a few days of solid abuse GBL will cause these effects but GHB itself won't, or not to considerable amounts.
I experienced some incredibly brutal withdrawals when abusing GBL for only 5 days.
Another thing to note is it is very easy to have your sleep health go down the tubes when abusing GBL or GHB, which will aggravate any sort of withdrawal type effects if you've been getting next to no sleep over a period of days/weeks.
I experienced considerable withdrawal effects off GBL after just a week of abuse. However I found a way to get around it and abuse it to the max.
A strict regime of 48 hours on including knockout doses followed by 24 hours off. This curbed pretty much all withdrawal effects and I managed to do this for a month straight with next to no issue. However it may not work that way for extended month use.
People who abused GBL or GHB for months on end with the 24/7 type use experience some of the worst withdrawals possible. It's very liken to alcohol or benzo withdrawal - some of the worse symptoms are confusion, hallucinations (auditory/visual), and can even risk seizures and death.

GHB addiction is totally possible but much easier to avoid if you are taking GHB as oppse to GBL. There are other analogues such as 1,4Butanol however these will stress your liver and should be avoided.
Some other things to be aware of with any regular use of GHB. Because it is high in sodium, it is ver possible you will notice things like water retention with prolonged use. Ensure you drink plenty of fluids to keep the kidneys functioning at optimum levles as well as bananas or a multivitamin.
Force yourself to sleep every day or two, once you start going days without any proper sleep, negative side effects will begin to present themselves much easier. You will also begin to look like shit which isnt good if you maintain a regular job.
I'm a recovering alcoholic. (Like big-time alcoholic, I had to be detoxed in the hospital several times.) I've been sober for over a year, all I do now is smoke a little weed now and then. Do you think it would be safe for someone like me to dabble with GHB if I could get my hands on some?
As a former alcoholic, I can tell you that will likely enjoy GHB too much. However if you set strict boundaries and stick to them, then I would say absolutely. Just don't end up dosing 24 hours straight, or for using multiple days at a time.
Believe me it is easier said than done - this stuff makes absolutely everything better in life.
I like to say that is the danger of this drug. There are not a whole lot of downsides to it - so it can make life feel a little dull after going on any extended binder.
But yeah, to answer your question - be responsible with it and you will be fine!
