What is the best anime film?

What is the best anime film?

'the best' is hard to define, but Tekkonkinkreet is really worth the watch.

boku no pico

Thank you

Princess Mononoke

Underrated post.

this

>what is the best anime CARTOON
ftfy

No, you didn't.

Akira

Redline hands down

Eve no Jikan

ctrl+f Mind Game

well, it's a good thing i caught this thread before it could go too far off the rails.

Paprika

Very soft for me, i need something more xtreme, someone know a good page of xtremeporn?

KINO

...

all the pseudo smart anime movies about psyche are way too boring and plain. no revolutionary thoughts expressed. no beautiful metaphors. Watch a good movie that doesn't try to be a philosophy lesson. Like "Spirited away" or "Ginro"

Although I wanna add I loved "The end of Evangelion" made me cum to the screenplay. It was unbelievable.

Sword of the Stranger

Unbelievable garbage.

Doomed megalopolis

I know people who think like you. Guess Many don't like it. To me it was a firework of strange and beautiful things.

liked this one

that new ghost in the shell movie could have been so much better

bumping this, probably going to get really drunk and watch one of the movies posted in this thread
if any knowledgeable user would care to help me out, anime movies I liked were Redline, Jin Roh, and enjoyed animeshit like bebop, baccano, GitS (ashamed to say haven't seen the movie yet), gurren lagaan, and afro samurai
Any recommendations based on these would be appreciated! Also don't know if it helps, but bloodborne is like my A E S T H E T I C

THIS

REDLINE
It's fucking awesome.

1st pokemon movie

Ninja scroll
Fist of the North Star
Bakki the grappler
Vampire Hunter D

Akira sucked balls.

You really should check out Akira if you haven't already. It is kind of in between Redline and Jin Roh in a sense.
If nothing else watch it just to say you have.
Unfortunately, there really aren't any good anime films (at least that I'm aware of) that are blood-borne themed, per se.

since no one said it yet, a great one is Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door

I dug Grave of the Fireflies, not the be most thrilling or exciting but it makes you feel for the characters

Macross Plus (The Movie)
Ghost in the Shell (Original Movie)
Spirited Away

Those are the ones that stood out to me.

perfect blue

Ghost in the shell.
Akira.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

They don't make em like they used too...

For some extreme ciolence Fist of the North Star is pretty fun.

...

My muh fuckn nigga

Kimi no na wa, literally number one movie on myanimelist.

Seven hand-drawn OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ OONTZ ...

Short Peace

In my opinion probably Ghost in the Shell or Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade

Magnetic Rose

garbage-tier

Pokemon: The Rise of Darkri!

K: Missing Kings
Spirited Away

I'm a big fan of the sci-fi ones.

I finally watched the first gundam series and was blown away at how dark the subject matter is. Was not expecting a depressing military story. I always assumed it was a flashy
space opera. Maybe the later ones are?

...

Spirited Away

>Vampire hunter D

Mah nigga!!

This guy fuckin gets it. Ninja Scroll is easily up there with GitS and Akira

my nigga

anyone notice how every movie that gets mentioned is before 2005 ?
WTF happend to anime ?

Money flow.

I'm with you. There really is no "best".
There are amazing anime movies of all genre.

Here are 3 recent ones I've watched

Bakemono no Ko

Kimi no Na wa.

Kotonoha no Niwa

The animations in all of these movies is mind blowing. In Kotonoha no Niwa opening, I could not tell it is was live action or animation

Ergo Proxy
Berserk
Hellsing

What's that gory one similar to ninja scroll but had a guy with the bottom half of his face missing skin and intestines hanging out. It had like the genocide of a dynasty in the opening credits?

Whisper of the heart

depends on the mood

princess mononoke
spirited away
akira
ninja scroll
the evangelion movies
jin-roh

meh, take your pick there are plenty of good ones

''your name'' is a really good new one

I was very happy with that one

Christmas with the Kranks.

Summer Wars is kinda great.

I don't think there is a best, but Grave of Fireflies is very good. Very sad, though.

Samuraï Champloo maybe?
