>Disney movie
>No songs

There you go.

its fun how this and treasure planet are my favorite disney films, yet they where the worst disney movies in terms of success

nice shop

>Disney movie
>No songs
>Incredibly fucking dark
This was some grimdark shit for Disney, especially the fucking scene with the Leviathan.

>two for flinching
Audrey was one of the best characters in the whole film, next to Helga and Vinny.

so why did the crew turned into skeletons?

Look at dem cartoon tiddies

is this even allowed?

Treasure planet was garbage.

A few nice visuals, but it's entirely uninspired and filled with shitty songs.

fell in love with the character designs
didn't knew mignola worked on them. realized about that around 2 years ago

I haven't watched this in ages, I loved it back then

>google images on OP's image
>only results are from hentaiporns.net

Hot daym.

>filled with shitty songs
there's literally only 1 in the whole film (2 if you count the one at the credits)

Poor man's The Road to El Dorado.

Yeah, like I said. Filled with shitty songs.

It's funny how everybody here loves this movie, but it was a bomb that destroyed Disney animations.

Because honestly before they got to Atlantis the movie was great but once they arrive there the movie went to boring shit.

It's Disney's Batman V Superman.

>a bomb that destroyed Disney animations
Don't you mean Home On The Range? Seriously, fuck HOTR for killing hand-drawn animated movies!

>release poorly marketed Winnie the Pooh next to Harry Potter

see guys? no one likes 2D anymore!

>home on the range

i swear to god I really think I'm hopping through dimensions or I have alzheimers. As there is no way that existed in my home universe.

More like
>release TERRIBLE animated movies
>blame the format and not the fact the movies are god fucking awful

How can boys handle all the songs? I fucking hated them in every Disney movie. Is it just all award-bait?

But BvS was pretty shit. Even as somebody who enjoyed the film, there were significant flaws that dragged it down. Atlantis had a lot going for it. An entertaining set of characters that bonded together, stunning animation, surprisingly brutal dark scenes (that one where Audrey shuts a water lock behind her, trapping an unlucky blue-collar in a flooding chamber). I think it only failed because while a great movie, the darkness was jarring in comparison to other Disney films. It may have been received more favourably if it had been a Dreamworks film or by some other producer.

what did you expect from a cast that included roseann barr and judi dench

I remember renting it from Hollywood video and loved it.

I remember hearing something about 2D animation being repolaced with 3D around the time that movie was coming out. That always made me sad as a kid. I think the news made it sound like it was dead and that movie was gonna be the final one or something. The details are a little fuzzy. A movie about a bunch of cows looked boring as fuck to me too.

>A movie about a bunch of cows looked boring as fuck to me too
Trust me, it was.

Radiation

I went to school for animation, and some of my professors had worked as Disney during this era.

Apparently the movie went through 2/3 of its production as an adaptation of "Journey to the Center of the Earth." At some point a number of executives randomly decided it would be better as a totally different film, and had the team do a ground-up re-imagining at what amounts to the last minute.

There were songs, but after the change most of them didn't make any sense. There was no budget left to go back and get a whole new soundtrack, so the musical aspect was scrapped almost entirely.

Sounds like the change saved the movie. Being a musical would have ruined it.

I'm glad the musical aspect was scrapped. Makes it stand out against the other Disney stuff.
>cute Latino waifu traps a man in a flooding room to die
Holy shit, that's mean.

>no songs
at least it had a stellar OST

I'm not gonna lie. I had a massive crush on Audrey and Kida when I saw this as a young teen.

This, Titan AE and Treasure Planet are criminally underrated

I swear that Titan AE feels familiar to me. I recognise it from somewhere but I don't know where. Do you guys ever get that feeling of weird recognition, like something from the deepest depths of your childhood memory?

Who made this edit? More importantly, is there more?

>Do you guys ever get that feeling of weird recognition, like something from the deepest depths of your childhood memory?
Yeah, it's called deja vu

Audrey had that sexy accent and those lips. And Kida had that white hair.

>and Kida had that swimming scene
fixed it for you

I don't remember much but she was hot. I just have a thing for the spicy latinas.

>grimdark
how even. The visuals are just more dieselpunk (not sure that's the right word for it but its the closest i can think of), the world isn't grimdark at all

>You haff deesterbed ze dert

>thinking grimdark has anything to do with visuals

What would have happened if Rouke had managed to take the Heart of Atlantis and "sell it to the Kaiser", as Milo put it? Would the Kaiser have not bothered waiting for the Archduke Ferdinand assassination in 1914 and set about creating a super augmented army to spread the might of Imperial Germany? Why couldn't we get that as a second film instead of the DVD cheapquel?

because Disney wasn't brave enough to depict the perfect utopia the Kaiser would build in this scenario

You have Alzheimer's old man. I was a preteen when it came out and remember the marketing push for it.

It was just the wrong kind of movie made at the worst possible time. Kids didn't find it interesting and I bet adults at the time thought it was some kind of Animal Farm ripoff with a metaphor for 9/11 or something.

The songs are well written, and meaningful to the scene. Lets face it, boy or girl, disney knows how to hook you in

I know everyone memes on about Hitler being a perfect little angel, but Wilhelm II literally did nothing wrong. He was forced into the war by the bullshit alliances that required Germany to aid Austro-Hungary against the Russians, who agreed to help the Serbians with French backing. The Kaiser wasn't that bad.

>this taste... it's of a linguist!
Fucking loved Moléire

Nice edit. Guaranteed replies.
