ITT: We post a film and its musical album equivalent

ITT: We post a film and its musical album equivalent

>OK Computer

I'm pretty sure the Aimee Mann soundtrack would be the equivalent, m8.

Pulse Demon by Merzbow

thinking emoji x2

The Revenant

A Hard Days night

SAW 85-92

The Money Store

The Downward Spiral

Funeral

>The Deer Hunter

Born in the USA

The Act of Killing

alternatively The Rum Diary, whatever

...

The Velvet Underground & Nico

Atomizer
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring

it is Fight Club that OKC is equivalent to

Soundtracks For The Blind because I get the feeling I'm watching a violent western movie when I listen to it

Henryk Gorecki Symphony 4

I don't know about Merzbow, but the soundtrack to that movie is sick.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

dude no that film is old man Johnny Cash all the way, both because it's literally dealing with the same subject matter, and both are for normie trash

Government Plates

Horse Rotorvator

Either Pet Sounds or The SMiLE Sessions.

The Roots - Thing Fall Apart

in The Aeroplane Over the Sea

Mulholland Dr

>reflate to the wild things are too much
Fuck, that whole movie hit me hard. "Wake Up" was such a great choice.

What album would this be?

Interstellar

something ominous and existential
>f#a# infinity

the books - food for thought

Unknown Pleasure, in terms of themes expressed in the lyrics.
Great fucking kino btw

Yo La Tengo - Painful

Merriweather Post Pavilion

The Mollusk

No, that remix of Dragula thats already in the movie is totes fitting.

That doesn't make any fucking sense.

These are the only ones ITT that make any sense.

They both exemplify that hipster nu-male aesthetic

Sung Tongs/Feels

Lust For Life

Neutral Milk Hotel- On Avery Island

...That doesn't make any fucking sense, you're supposed to post the equivalent considering the content itself.

How do you even come up to that conclusion? They're nothing alike.

fair enough. The Man Machine

Lmao this thread went hilarious bad

Maybe I mean to attribute the entire evangelion series and this movie.

But I've always found a lot of the lyrics in On Avery island to fit with the themes and events in Evangelion and Thought the noisy abrasiveness of some of the tracks to be oddly fitting to the vivid images in the show and movie.

could you explain how they're nothing alike

That's more like it I guess.

The Wall - Pink Floyd

Radiohead is literally evangelion the band.

Oneohtrix Point Never - R Plus Seven

but radiohead is actually good

Maybe for Shinji Specifically, I always imagined the music he was listening to on his walkman or whatever was Kid A

One is an apocalyptic surrealistic end of the world nightmare existentialist animated film.
The other is a bittersweet indie lo-fi record about stuff.

reminder that shinji likes XTC

The Weekend - Trilogy

>Anything by the Coen brothers
>Normie trash

Pavement - Brighten the Corners

Skinny Puppy - Too Dark Park

have you ever read the lyrics to On Avery Island friendo?

on the first track alone the lyrics resemble themes and events that shinji experiences

>"And when I put my arms around him
I felt the blushing blood run through my cheeks
And an eeriness surrounded
When his tongue began to speak
And he said, 'Oh boy you are so pretty'
Enough to wrap tight in rice-paper string
And when I finally kissed him
The whole world began to ring"

You can relate that to shinji's weird gay feelings towards kaworu that he wasn't sure about.

>"And I knew the world was over
So I took a look outside
And watched the fires that were reaching
Up to the weather vane and the tops of trees
And the waiting scene and the Sunday dream
They're all waiting here for me"

can be related to the apocalypse and the christian imagery throughout the entire series

>"To save my soul from all these troubled times
And all the drugs that I don't have the guts to take
To soothe my mind so I'm always sober
Always aching, always heading towards
Mass suicide, occult figurines"

Mental issues Shinji doesn't know how to deal with

now this makes absolutely zero sense

>anything other than the spongebob movie

Daniel Johnston - Hi, How Are You

Anyone have any idea?

Clerks

Well, I agree that some lyrics have similarities but not enough to say that they're even close to be equivalents.
The music doesn't suit the film neither, and that one is relevant.

Just because the lyrics hint at similarities, it doesn't mean the music matches the tone of Evangelion, it's way different

Soundtracks for the Blind

fuck off

...

What's the music equivalent of this?

No, Its the Doors, or Amnesiac

Avril Lavigne - Let Go

Foster the People - Torches

What? thematically it fits pretty well and there's even a track named after a section of the movie

Victorialand

Murder Ballads

f#a#infinity is superior to It's such a beautiful day

End of Evangelion

Fuck what the earlier poster has to say

lads what would be the MBV of movies? halp
