So I had a little bump on my leg the other day... and it turned into pic related. I don't remember getting bit by anything. And it's starting to really hurt. Beneath the reddest part is the same bump just much wider than before. And it's hard.
What do? I don't want to go to the doctor for something like this. I was thinking of taking a needle and trying to puncture the bump, bit I don't know if that would just make it worse
Infected lymph node. Use ice to numb it, make a small incision and squeeze it out
Dominic Walker
Definitely an infection. Possibly staph.
I get VERY similar looking bumps on my skin sometimes. the majority go away but that looks so damn inflamed it's probably only going to get worse.
I would suggest you go see a doc who would give you antibiotics.
If you really don't want to do that I'll tell you how I treat mine, I open it up with a sterile pin (boiled in hot water so its clean) then wash with disinfectant and put antibacterial cream on it and cover wiith a bandage/bandaid.
I change this every day and keep it dry and clean. and they usually go down on their own.
Alexander Perez
might be a Brown recluse bite then. show a pic of the hard bump. I'd go to the doc but I have free healthcare..
Parker Powell
My guess is spider bite. Stabbing the bump won't do anything, it's inflammation not pus.
Brody Gomez
looks like a staph infection. Go to doctor or you will die.
Evan Roberts
Could be cellulitis or aids
Jaxon Johnson
Brown recluse bite. Battle buddy of mine got one going through basic. He waited a week to tell one of the drill sargents and ended up losing part of his calf because it went necrotic. Go see a doctor...which is what you should have done anyways not asking us Sup Forumstards.
Dominic Gomez
Borreliosis?(Lymes disease) I don't think it is, because the pattern looks different. Have you been having any flu-like symptoms, user?
Blake Carter
Bold clot. My uncle died cause of one after banging his leg from slipping on a poly pocket.
Joseph Hill
Close up of the hard part
Lucas Lee
brown recluse
Christian Mitchell
Staph. Dermatology nurse here.
Go to doctor asap. That shit can get bad fast.
$200 please.
Gabriel Rivera
Brown recluse or staph. not lymph node as it seems to be your lower leg, only lymph vesels there. keeping in mind your location probs Brown recluse
Jordan Lee
Could be a horse-fly bite. I get bitten in my ankle once or twice a year and it looks like this. Sometimes it hurts to the point that I can't put any weight on my ankle.
Tyler Davis
Fuck man, I was trying not to go to the doctor because of healthcare bullshit...
Wouldn't a brown recluse destroy the tissue faster? It's been like 3 days.
Never had staph before so I wouldn't know about that
Jaxson Williams
This. It's one or the other man. Either way, you need that nurse's advice.
IF it is a brown recluse bite, you have a few days before that turns into a necrotic hole in your leg. If it's staff, you have less than a few days before it goes from localized to systemic.
Lucas Johnson
RN/Paramedic: Looks like a spider bite. If it gets bigger, turns black in the middle, the pain gets unbearable, or you're concerned, its prolly time to see a doc. Prolly not gonna kill you, prolly not gonna rot your leg off. Keep it clean (and covered), and keep an eye on it.
Lucas Miller
Ive had that shit last week. No shit. And im from Europe. It just got away and left a small black bump in the middle. Is it warmer than your leg? Does it hurt you when you touch it?
That seems a better fit than brown recluse, as you don't REMEMBER a spider biting you. But one could have got you in your sleep or something, though staph is more likely.
Adrian Young
Don't believe this poser. Spider bites are extremely rare. Most of what the public calls "spider bites" are just infected hair follicles.
See a doctor. Sup Forums is just giving you wild guesses.
Robert Foster
You have the black plague bro
Austin Garcia
Its prolly what the others said, but I got stung by a yellowjacket and my leg looked almost exactly like yours
Thomas Williams
It is slightly warmer than my leg and hurts if I press down on the middle part. It only starts hurting noticeably when I first get up from siting, then the pain goes away. Right now it's more like an annoyance.
Chase Parker
Also, unless you want like a cream or something, don't waste your time at an urgent care/minute clinic type place. Go to a hospital, ideally a bigger one, and actually have it checked out.
Aiden Rivera
I had a school counselor back in high school that got mrsa (bad staff)on his leg he had a scar from an inch above his ankle to a few more above his knee the scar tissue was about as big around as a magic marker get that shit checked homie go to a hospital (pic similar but not him)
Luke Hall
Forgot pic
Austin Reed
Just go to the fucking doctor you idiot.
Lincoln Thompson
wouldn't you guess that this was from and american "I don't want to go to a doctor.."
Why not?
Because your shitty health care "system" costs too much? Because your politicians have scared so many people about socialised medicine that they vote for any idiot who will take their health care away?
if you survive user, and I hope you do, think hard next time there is an election and start campaigning for a proper health care system like the rest of the civilised world has.
Elijah Jackson
Pre op be looking like
Colton Lewis
If it's Lyme disease, it may just be beginning to form into the bullseye pattern.
If you have insurance go to a doc. If it is staph, your time is short until it spreads. Doesn't look like a spider bite, because it would look like a golf ball is under your skin, but if it is and it's from a bad one, it'll start dying, turning into liquified black rot.
Jose Myers
POP IT FAGGOT
Cameron Hall
looks like a spider bite, if it starts turning yellow and red under its probably a brown recluse, it looks like a necrotoxin bite.
usually happens when you sleep or put on clothes because those little faggots like to hide in warm dark spaces.
Bentley Smith
Just go to a doctor today before the weekend hits. Probably just a spider bite, but better safe than sorry.
Thomas Hall
Dont think that is tickbite. He would have noticed a tick on that spot.
Adam Peterson
Horse flies are bullets with wings. Fucking hate them.
Christian Bell
>I don't want to go to the doctor for something like this. I was thinking of taking a needle and trying to puncture the bump, bit I don't know if that would just make it worse
Protip: It will make it worse. Clinically you have at the very least a nasty case of cellulitis and probably an abscess. You need antibiotics.
Gavin Gray
OP here
I disinfected a needle and punctured the hard part, but only normal looking blood came out.
I'm just going to go to the doctor. Better safe that sorry. I'll just have to live off of ramen for a few weeks
Lincoln Long
bug bite?
Juan White
doctor time, op. these guys get it
Nicholas Robinson
go to a doctor if he's spreading that fast and is painful my dude, better safe than sorry, even if it's minor, it's easier to get it done now then have it be something huge later
