i literally did this to my friend in grade 8, at the beginning of the year me and another friend were having lunch at his desk while he was in the bathroom, i took a slice of prosciutto out for my sandwitch, opened one of his textbooks, placed on a page, closed it and returned it into his desk.
near the end of the year he was asked to read a page from the textbook and all he saw was a mouldy piece of meat, the pages were unsalvageable, he couldn't read it.
