I'm not in denial about Asians being smarter on average but at the same time I'm fairly sure the same studies usually show a higher variance among whites, which is what you need to have the advantage in actually advancing society as society isn't advanced by average IQ plebs. Since the gap between the averages is small, whites might have the advantage once you get a standard deviation above the mean, I don't have the numbers at hand but it's plausible.
