yo i just made this song, am singing and rapping on it!
A personal journal sort of an album I made after moving across the country and isolating myself from friends and loved ones for 2 years, I use a lot of unstaged voicemail recordings throughout the tracks. If you're not as into ambient vibes, skip to the second track where there's vocals. soundcloud.com/din-51/sets/din
I dig the vibes, your songwriting is really good. I would recommend trying to fill your sound out more, I feel like you can maintain your sense of minimalism while finding other ways to widen your stereo mix. I enjoyed your tracks enough to be annoyed by how short they were :( I'm so into this. That runescape sample was wild. three "ok sign" emojis
Thanks for listening! Coming out with a new song tomorrow that's a little different from what I have up currently. Looking forward to showing it everyone!
If you like Aphex, BoC, Arthur Russell, OPN, and Post Rock stuff like Talk Talk etc. check this out. Album coming soon. Best stuff I've ever made. Would love feedback, cheers x

I wonder, why is it always 99.9% electronic music in these threads?
Nathan Rogers
DAWs are really easy to pick up and use
I'd love to start recording and playing other things besides the usual hiphop stuff you see in these threads. I don't have the space or equipment to start doing that though.
Most people seem to like the song linked above, let me know what you guys think. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! I really need it and I want to improve.
Thanks guys! :)

same, I would love to branch out into other methods and genres but i'm limited in what I have. So for now its all for the fun!
>electronic >synth >glitch/noise (for one of them) >optimism
I do a lot of hardware synthesis, as well as sampling of homemade oscillators and other crap. I also use VSTs sometimes. I think it's cool. I'm releasing an album soon,

>I wonder, why is it always 99.9% electronic music in these threads?
what did he mean by this?
Brody Moore
nothing bad really, there's nothing wrong with electronic music - I make it myself. But sometimes I come across these threads and think why there isn't much more diversity. All in all we're probably from all around the globe
Maybe try to go out there and start a creative space or sth? We have this one place in my hometown which we started - everyone chipped in with some equipment and all in all we have a complete studio that everyone can use for all possible music genres.
If we didn't come up together, that wouldn't be possible - we're not richfags
Lucas Martinez
Thats a really cool idea!! thank you for the idea user, ill bring it up with some people I know!
This stuff is cool. The track you posted is slick, nicely arranged. I like the chilliness of it.
The atmosphere on this is cool. I dig opn and found myself enjoying this. The weird sound effect samples weave in nicely. The way the rhythm constantly shifts is rad.
That's cool as fuck man it's short and to the point, and done tastefully. Drums and guitar although simple does the song justice. And I dig the singers voice, wish I had the lyrics tho is all. I'm interested to see what you would do with a better recording (although i like how raw the demo sounds). I imagine it would be cool to add like a call and response on the parts like at 1:50-2:00 with all you guys shouting a progression of lyrics or something. Coolio song, I like noise at the end too:D You guys have any other pages?
sounds legit damn this style of punk i think can be hard to catch peoples eyes with because generally speaking the guitar and drums aren't doing much unique or attention grabbing, just pushing the energy so it puts a lot i think on the vocalist to grab the audience and i think your singer is doing a kick ass job. And don't get me wrong nothings wrong with the drums/bass/guitar, it all sounds freaking tight which is hard af to do. But i think small things make all the difference, and there's a ton of room i think in punk to fuck with tones, small variations, and arrangements to really make something different. Killer song well done
I envy you a fuck ton, wtf dude. Vocals are so good. Drums and guitar are working great together and I love the small progressions they make through the song. The only thing the I personally don't like are some of those higher synth sounding parts at like 1:50, but the lower ones that follow at like 2:08 sound perfect. But that's my opinion and fuck my opinion. Great song
because recording live instruments is a bitch and i always need multiple people for that so its difficult and slow meanwhile i can get samplebased stuff done within couple hours
yeah, ok. But maybe making music should be quite hard. You know - to appreciate it better. As I've said later - I do electronic stuff too. And yes it is time saving. Although after I make few decent tracks I get the craving to create something with other people. To spend more time on that, sometimes bickering with other m8s, but create something totally different.

I think from a creative stand point it's so much easier to make something new with other people. But you can still do that and not use "live" or "real" or what ever you wanna call it instruments. But I agree with the struggle thing you were saying. There's a lot of dicking around that comes with recording all that shit when you only have so much equipment and knowledge in recording. I think in those situations it's tougher on the musicians to be working with equipment that doesn't "flatter" the instruments being recorded and in the end it's the quality of the song and skill of the players that carry it and not the quality of the sound.I envy people who make kick ass songs with shit equipment. Which is why I think people really like using synths, midis ect. You can plug straight into your computer and get quality sound and you don't need more members or knowledge of how to play multiple instruments necessarily.
oh fuck, you did a good job getting that all together.

soundcloud.com/user-174784819/idgaf-desu >metal-y djent-y core-y thingy >i hate it desu >ending is the most generic, blatantly ripped-off thing i've ever made, but i guess it kinda fits so idgaf
I made a sad pop song with three vocalists and a guitar (as well as electronic stuff). So that's kind of different from the ususal "overblown ambient vaportrap" stuff
